Kevin from Lice Happens is truly amazing. He is polite and professional and very easy to have around considering he was at our house for a few hours. He comes to your home prepared with everything that he needs and a tremendous amount of information. He not only calms your nerves but also teaches you a lot throughout the process. I was surprised to see that there is still a lot of misinformation circulating around about lice in general and how to take care of it. He came to our house, set up and then took care of everyone in our household. Throughout the time he was with us he was very nice and patient - answered all of our questions and concerns. I think my boys actually enjoyed having him around - barring all the combing/removing nits that was going on. They all seemed to have a nice chat. Kevin also tells you how to take care of the house (linens, upholstery, etc) and what to do going forward. He teaches you how to check and do followups so that you can prevent or at least catch any new instances of lice before it becomes a problem. Originally, I decided to call him based on all the positive reviews, the information that he has on his website and the fact that he is mobile. His fee is very reasonable - and worth every penny. Dear Lice, you tried to ruin our summer. You came to school with us during last few weeks. We took you on several road trips. You guys even went to Hawaii, on us. Both literally and figuratively. Sumi came to my apartment the same day I called for an appointment. She was lovely, professional, and extremely detailed in her care for my friends and for myself. It turns out I was the only one who had lice, but she did a very thorough double and even triple-check of my friends' heads, and spend a good amount of time combing through my very long hair to find and remove all nits and nymphs and lice. She showed us what she was doing, showed us the nits and other bits she found, and was very patient with all my questions. She did an excellent job educating me about next steps and how to continue combing out my hair for the next 2 weeks, and allaying all my fears. Kevin was professional, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable. He showed up at my house only 2 hours after I called him in a panic. He was part bug detective, part therapist! Not only did he thoroughly check our entire family for lice and comb out my daughters head for almost two hours, he also put me at ease by explaining that "lice happens". He explained the products they developed are pesticide free and would not harm my daughter. The treatment took about 2 hours and he showed me how to complete the daily 2 minute follow-up.
