I hadn't had lice since I was 13yrs old and knew how serious it was that I nip it in the bud now! Mary educated me with so much more info than I thought I knew, since I had lice my entire childhood. Her advice explains why the at home kit I got from Target did not work. Lice is immune to the Rid and Nix shampoo treatments. It will not kill them! I 1000 did everything Mary told me to do at home after my 1st treatment. Traumatized I am, I was willing to do whatever it took to make sure I covered all my corners at home, in my car, and on me personally. My husband even came in to get checked. Thankfully he did not have it. My 1st treatment went well as I was not infested thank goodness, and Mary highly recommended a 2nd treatment and some take home products to keep lice away. Boy was she right about this second treatment 4 days later. The microscopic eggs she could not see/ take out from 1st treatment were indeed there and bigger when I went in for the 2nd treatment. Am I glad I went for that second treatment. No bugs were found on second treatment but a normal amount of eggs/ nits that would have eventually hatched into bugs and I would have had lice all over again! IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO GET THAT 2ND TREATMENT FOLKS. Don't let $ stop you because it's not worth having lice! All in all, I 1000% recommend Mary from Ditch the Itch to treat you and the life you have. She's sweet, funny, makes you feel comfortable, and plays movies for your entertainment. They also don't follow the guarantee listed on the website. If you have lice within the 10 day time frame guarantee you still have to pay for an additional appointment- they call it a "follow up" or "final check" which I feel should be included in the initial fee. Overall I liked them but felt that just a few changes could go a long way in improving their service. Also please hire more techs so that same poor lady doesn't have to drive all over Southern California to the different salons! To have a family treated you are looking at around $1,000 all in (including the products they pressure you to buy). It's not cheap, especially with multiple kids, but it works. One and done. This is our second visit after several months. Diane was fantastic the first time and helped us again. She's incredibly knowledgeable and even showed us exactly what she was finding. Vanessa is helping us for the first time, and she's been great as well, very thorough and helpful. I'm especially glad both of my kids can be treated at the same time, so we don't have to spend double the time here.
