I was initially frustrated with some communication issues when I first called and was actually about to look elsewhere. Without me even asking for special attention, Amy reached out to me personally. From that moment on, everything fell into place seamlessly. Amy clearly genuinely cares about her customers and the families they serve. They even offer in-home services for those who prefer that option. We ended up going to their salon on Pine Street in Riverside, where we met Bree. She was absolutely outstanding! Bree was so warm and welcoming, especially with my kids. She made the whole experience feel like no big deal at all. We were in and out in a very timely manner, and she answered every single question we had with patience and kindness. Naturally we were freaked out and started looking at every remedy possible. We resorted to the over the counter stuff from the drug store and honestly we thought it worked. We didn't see anymore live lice and assumed the eggs would die too. WRONG... A Week later i went to brush her hair and it was absolutely infested.... It was 9pm at night and there was no way we could have let her sleep like that... I called around to a few places and everywhere else asked for appointments or were taking last appointments by 8:00pm Finally i called this place and LITERALLY in 30 mins someone was at our house checking and treating everyone in the household. Of course there are some fees for having someone drive 30 mins to make a house call but it was worth it. Peace of mind is priceless. They said to use the standard Nix over the counter treatment. After doing a quick Yelp search, I reached out to Kelli who told us to come in right away. I always prefer to use someone who is highly skilled over attempting my own best efforts at home. Having a 4 year old, I was worried how he would handle the treatment. She had a TV with Netflix which kept my little guy focused and was so calm and reassuring the entire time. She was so sweet but also so informative, teaching me all about lice and the treatment - as it's a process! I'm lice free! Here's how: Came to see Mary after…read morediscovering I still had lice after my at home treatments did not work. I hadn't had lice since I was 13yrs old and knew how serious it was that I nip it in the bud now! Mary educated me with so much more info than I thought I knew, since I had lice my entire childhood. Her advice explains why the at home kit I got from Target did not work. Lice is immune to the Rid and Nix shampoo treatments. It will not kill them! I 1000 did everything Mary told me to do at home after my 1st treatment. Traumatized I am, I was willing to do whatever it took to make sure I covered all my corners at home, in my car, and on me personally. My husband even came in to get checked. Thankfully he did not have it. My 1st treatment went well as I was not infested thank goodness, and Mary highly recommended a 2nd treatment and some take home products to keep lice away. Boy was she right about this second treatment 4 days later. The microscopic eggs she could not see/ take out from 1st treatment were indeed there and bigger when I went in for the 2nd treatment. Am I glad I went for that second treatment. No bugs were found on second treatment but a normal amount of eggs/ nits that would have eventually hatched into bugs and I would have had lice all over again! IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO GET THAT 2ND TREATMENT FOLKS. Don't let $ stop you because it's not worth having lice! All in all, I 1000% recommend Mary from Ditch the Itch to treat you and the life you have. She's sweet, funny, makes you feel comfortable, and plays movies for your entertainment.
