Of course I ended up focusing on the nice stuff under the "lock and key" displays, some of it running into several hundred dollars. I happily ended up with a more modestly priced walrus ivory Billiken (a mythical good-luck figure who represents "things as they ought to be."). This is a favorite carving figure in Alaska, even though the original idea came from a Missouri art teacher. This time, the gift was for me.
