The financial services here are a JOKE. After maternity care visits that they required 2x per week, right up until 36 weeks to when I was no longer high risk, an induction that was pushed on me, giving birth, and a FORCED 5 day hospital stay because of "hypertension" (slightly elevated BP), they billed me numerous times. They've harassed me about my payment plan and wanted thousands a month....mind you, having numerous offices billing me from Ohio Health due to the required 2x a week appointments all over central Ohio. None of them on the same payment plan, resulting in 2 or 3 payments due monthly. Along with each bill, the payments continue to increase...I tried to pay a certain amount each month and was required to fill out financial assistance forms, which was a joke. I jumped through their hoops, submitting paystubs from the last 2 years basically, only to be denied (as expected)... now they are telling me that the agreed payment amount isn't suitable bc my balance increased again. They said they'll send the amount not on the payment plan that they dictate to collections. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told they'd get back to me. What an absolute nightmare!!! Ohio Health and Licking Memorial are absolutely robbing those who need medical care!!! and when you cant afford to pay, they send it to collections!! An absolutely abolishable company!! read more

I went to the ER recently and was treated horribly. The doctor, Dr. Weese, treated me horribly, with no respect. I PAY for my own insurance, which isn't cheap. I didn't expect to be treated with such disrespect for a SERVICE that I have to pay THOUSANDS of dollars for. I had not been to an ER for probably 25 years- I do not use the ER as a doctors office. Do better LMH...I hope to never see the inside of that ER again, because if I do I'd have to be dying- which by the way, I did think I was that night I was taken into the ER! read more

Took my girlfriend to licking, just to be told that the moment I walked in, the nurses at the desk were gossiping about me and how many times I have been seen here at licking. It was completely rude, distasteful, and disrespectful. However they will face no disciplinary reprocussions for their rude comments, and distasteful behavior and words. read more

The one star goes to me for being the military widow . Did you know that 300k people die a year over malpractice and negligence? If you break your arm , sure . If you have a cardiac attack and get blown off by saying it's just anxiety, and had to be rushed to a different hospital, cause I was refused care when coming off the squad because of my age , race and gender . Never seen a doctor once and it caused ALOT of issues for my heart, lungs , ect , can't feel my left arm still , and I'm only 38 years old , so yall are liable . My son and I have been researching my own symptoms since January, and we think we have it figured out . If my PCP didn't order ambulatory orders we was packing me up to the Cleveland clinic or OSU cardiac clinic. Last year I got diagnosed with high blood pressure through a LMH doctor and finally after being put on a med for it . It still wasn't working . I messaged and called many times for an adjustment and little effort made . Fast forward a year later I switch to a new pcp threw LMH ended up having a TIA because when I asked the provider for a referral to a cardiologist, I was blown off and told "I'm too young to be put on these kind of meds " Even with heavy heart disease in my family . That's why I chose a new PCP . Had my follow ups with my new pcp and blood pressure got back in range thanks to her , however I also have been reaching out to her and seeing her quite often over symptoms I have been having since January 2024 . Now I have developed serious health issues over my cardiac episodes I was having while enroute by squad and was blown off as "anxiety " never even seen the doctor, so how he can diagnose me with something that I am already diagnosed with is beyond me, especially with not even seeing me. The stories I have heard over the emergency room department is sickening and inhumane and all of this is going to stop with me. I want my pcp to get me the treatment I need and she is and I'm greatful for that , but I shouldn't have had to go through a traumatic cardiac event in front of my son , because lord knows losing his dad was enough . Everyone needs to be held accountable and everyone will be. I am a military widow and a sole parent of a child and you guys tried to kill me, we will be seeing each other again, but in another building. -Psa please be aware to screenshot everything as the notes and all testing ect comes in on MyChart . Even though I didn't receive cardiac care here , they are known to update notes and change things for legal reasons, cause no one laid a hand on me on 2 different occasions, and I left without any papers because no one seen me . SCREENSHOT as they come in . You can get access to your results immediately when they come in . If anyone wants proof of changes find me on social . My quality of life is ruined and I should actually be hospitalized as we speak , but I'm "healthy enough to go " PSA You will be treated differently if you have state insurance. Once our Tricare went out and they switched my family to Buckeye health insurance. Quality of care goes downhill, and my oldest has an autoimmune disease and middle son is a diabetic. So with that said they judge you by insurance on what kind of care you will get . PSA I'm fully aware this can be used against me in court of law . Hour 4 at ER now, brought in by ambulance for seizure, why are we here, let us go already, feels more like imprisonment, nothing at all has been done other than an IV that will not be used. This is stupid. 4 hours in the ER, doctors have been to every other room around us, several times on some, and I get the more emergent situations, I do, but this is redulicous, this is a known issue, and you can not fix it, why do you keep us here like this. BTW, we are frequent flyers here, I have seen so many issues it ain't funny, and the attitudes of some of the assistants is holier than thou. I have had some bad experiences here in the past, so it wasn't a one time "bad day" thing. As a patient, I've had several different experiences here from a variety of offices, including urology and neurology. I've been to the ER here as well, and the wait time is horrendous! In every one of those places, the staff have been rude and short with me. The "help" desk receptionists were among the worst, followed by the physicians and nurses (with the exception of one, who was very kind and thorough). Overall, I would NOT recommend Licking Memorial Health Systems to anyone looking for quality care. read more

i come tegularly for iron infusions. Dr Mullins is one of the most caring doctors and everyone that works in the oncology unit are so personable and concerned for the patient. i would like to add that all of the doctors I see associated with LMH are wonderful to work with i have had a number of stays in the hospital and each time has been a very positive experience Finally, I have to be moved through the hospital be wheel chair and Kevin at the front desk has become a friend. We were scheduled to deliver our 4th child there back in June of 2020. My wife was working closely with the doctors and things were going well. The night she went into labor we arrived at the hospital at 8pm and I grabbed the bags and parked tve car as a covid nurse (takes your temp) at the front door helped my wife into a wheelchair. We entered the ER and were administered into the labor and delivery (L&D) department and headed upstairs. Upon entering the L&D I was ready to drop all the bags into a room when I was notified that I would need to wait in the waiting room. What? Husbands need to wait in the waiting room due to Covid polices is what we were told. This sent both my wife and I to the moon with frustration. We were never explained this policy, we couldn't find this policy is writing, and when challenged we were told security would be called. After finding that my wife was only 6cm we actually packed up her stuff and left the hospital we were so frustrated and angry with our experience there. With no plan in place I got on the phone with Knox Community Hospital asking if they had a "No father/husband policy" in their L&D. The woman on the phone asked me to repeat myself and acted like I had a 3rd eye she was so surprised LMH actually had such a policy. I'll never forget the awesome night nurse said "get your butt up here dad, we will be waiting for you, I'll prep the team now", to which I drove a little too fast to Mt Vernon. I will follow up our experience with KCH in their 5 star review. They were angles. To summarize our experience with LMH... They lied, they made an already chaotic situation even worse, their unwritten policy is garbage and we would have never worked with any hospital that had such a policy of splitting up mother and father. Needless to say we will never return, we pulled all our kids out of that system (pediatricians) and my wife and I fired our general practice family doctor. One last thing... LMH never mailed us the HCAHPS survey. The survey that the government looks at and hospital funding is based off of. I can't imagine why they wouldn't send us one? I really wanted to tell my story of being threatened with security for questioning your policy. LMH, you suck. read more

While the individual humans working at this location are generally great people, this hospital is slow and inefficient. They consistently fail to meet expectations for every procedure. They didn't take a complete history on a high risk covid patient. The Dr told the patient that covid is really just the flu now. The nurse completing discharge tried to let the patient leave with their iv still in and had to be reminded by the visiting guest to remove it. Speaking of ivs, when the patient that's a fall risk needed to use the restroom, the tech did not accompany them to the restroom, and upon returning to their bed, no one ever came to reattach the iv, and the patient's guest did it for them in the interest of saving time because after a half hour no one had done it yet. There is only a sense of urgency demonstrated when staff is asked to complete a task by the patient's guest, and they often need reminding multiple times. It seemed that the staff was rushing through patient's care to return to socializing in the nurses station, or with their coworkers milling about. This hospital is consistently awful and a good experience here is the exception, not the rule read more

Me and my wife went in to the Licking Memorial Hospital at 8:30pm. From the moment we went in the emergency room doors it felt like we were an inconvenience to them. (The triage nurse was the only exception. She was awesome) they gave her an IV and gave her torodol through it. The nurse didn't put it on an IV pole like a normal person would. They hung it on the holder for the vital machine. After 5-10 minutes my wife said her IV was burning. The IV infiltrated. I let one of the nurses out there know that it was burning and they responded with such attitude of well she's getting discharged so we can just take it out. Leaving a softball sized lump on her arm to the point you could squeeze the fluid back out is ridiculous and completely unprofessional. If a patient or family member comes up to you saying that, take a look at the IV! On top of that she had a blood pressure of 170/35 ish which is also not ok in the slightest. The alarm was going off on the machine and not a single nurse came in to see what was going on. Terrible experience all around and completely unprofessional as a health care worker. read more

The Good: 1.Pretty good hospital for mothers having babies. 2. The Cafeteria has received high reviews and praise among other hospitals. 3. Excellent Hospice floor for patients and families. 4. Decent blood lab, if you don't think about the germ covered computer screen you use to check in. The Bad: 1. They have a really bad rep. 2. If you're in a rush or have a special condition, drive like lightening to a Columbus area hospital. 3. Sometimes personal time gets in the way of professional time for the staff. Picture your favorite scene from Grey's. 4. It takes 3 hours for 2 patients in queue for the ER. Now, do the math if we had a catastrophe. O.o Overall, 3 Stars. My mother was taken to LMH by ambulance in May. We had not had much contact with LMH prior to this. Dr Donaldson was fantastic! She's explained everything and the options. She spent time with us and showed genuine caring and compassion for the decisions we had to make. The ER nurses were also wonderful. Corey Campbell, the Chaplain, spent the majority of the day with us, he was there for anything we needed. My family will be forever grateful for these people who made a terrible day as comfortable as possible. read more

Very unprofessional and racist can tell most of them are here just for a check. if you need help right away better off making a long drive to Columbus if not you'll be waiting at least two hours before your seen then another two hours for them to run a 15-20 min test. trash place wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

A few weeks ago my brother and I went to visit my father on Floor 5 after his hip replacement. I found out quick why my father was so in love with his fake redhead nurse. She was flirting with my brother like he was a piece of meat. She was lucky his wife was not allowed up to the floor because the way she just about had sex with my brother in the room was enough to make me beat her down. Someone needs to tone her down and tell her to start being a professional. I used to love this hospital before it turned into having champagne girls giving lap dances in the pr Someone tell the chubby one to show some class. I am sure you expect your nurses to be nice but borderline having to tip them for their level of flaunting. Gross. So gross. read more

Rude. Rude. Rude. Dismissed. HIPPA violations. Never told what they were testing me for. When i asked to use the rest room the woman yelled "are they allowed to go to the bathroom?" Then ripped my blood pressure cuff off me and THREW it on the ground then did the same with my finger monitor. Then said " you can walk right?" And walked out. Mind you I was in the area they test for COVID...So when i came back they picked up my cuff off the floor and put it back in me..then yelled down the hall my private medical information in a derogatory tone for every one to hear. Seven hours saw Dr. For 20 sec...at most. Left with a "we don't know. Probably a virus. Over $2000 bill. Plus never put in my discharge papers about my chest pains. 16 years in the medical field myself and i have NEVER SEEN SUCH ABUSE AND DISREGARD FOR PEOPLE. WTF would of been zero stars.. read more

FOR YOUR SAFETY READ THIS! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I took a family member here for vomiting and stomach pain. Although my family member had a stomach virus, we were told my family member had a life threatening condition that required surgery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We waited for further testing and were informed that surgery was not needed immediately, but would still likely be needed. Once surgery was potentially necessary, we asked for a transfer to a larger hospital in Columbus. This request was initially denied. We argued with staff for several hours trying to be transferred. We were almost forced to walk out the door and drive to another hospital. We finally managed to convince the staff to initiate a transfer to Riverside in Columbus. Once we arrived at Riverside, we were immediately informed no surgery was needed and that my family member had a stomach virus. DO NOT GO HERE! This does not even begin to cover the full horror story. I have kept this post only to the minimum of facts so that it can not be removed. I feel as many people as possible should see this post. If you find yourself in a similar situation PLEASE know your patient rights! Demand to be told your patient rights and look up the EMTALA. For clarity, the ER may have later discovered the mistake and not insisted on surgery, but we did not stay at the facility long enough to know for certain. I do not think leaving before this error could have been discovered was a mistake. read more

Assuming and Stigma 4x times to the ER within the past few months. Severe acute pain. Intolerable pain. 3 of their ER doctors asked me what meds I am on? Do I see or hear things?! Really. Let me say this Licking Memorial that has a psych unit and addiction treatment. I have BPD, I wrote a book about my "journey." Do people with depression or BPD, bipolar all see things? Fairies? NO. But each time I had excruciating nerve and joint pain - I got eye rolls, saline solution and of all things, that ER doctor took my blood pressure in my foot with his hand to check for ? nerve pain? Per WEbMD, Twitter, Google and MS Health BOT, I have Gout, IBS and arthritis - been diagnosed with facet joint arthritis since 2014. I was bit by a bug 2015, Bells palsy, 3 month painful rash that only the Best Chicago hospital, Loyola Med Center in Maywood - steroids, antihistamines and antibiotics, antibiotics helped. Called Lyme Disease, but your staff - uh, we don't like self diagnosis. I had photos, we don't need to see that. So the other day barely able to walk, a swollen red foot, one. Obvious not fairies trying to get me now is it. Do you have some note, I mean even the EMT drivers, you want to go to the hospital? What is wrong, then commenting on the side to the doctors ... uhh ? pain she says. All stats are fine though. I don't know. When I said I want to go to the Cleveland Clinic as soon as I possibly can make that long drive and back, Doctor: What do you "think" you can get there, you can't get here? Treatment. That is what I know those doctors are nationally known for, just being on SSD 1K max, 100 miles is a bit expensive with all the copays and gas money. Glad I am now moving away from here. Will drop your administrators a line about this "treatment". Bye, you are fine! Take an acetaminophen if needed. Go see a FAMILY doctor, K? Sure, I see internal medicine doctors I don't have kids. awful and not many hospitals to choose from around these parts. + Only good things about my experience several times is your desk staff, sign-in and register staff and the nurse or PCT who checks you in on the computer. Went in to the ER today. I was having trouble with my sugar levels. Very light headed and week. Scared of passing out. I sat for over an hour never even got called back for vitals. Staff was very rude! I decided to leave. Went to OSU ER was taken right back. So if you want to live do not go here!! read more

I brought my daughter here, for what appears to be a possible migraine. The website for the hospital ER gives an estimated wait time which isn't close to accurate. Then the lobby has a screen that gives an average (over the last 24 hours) wait time, time to see the doctor, and total visit time, which again, isn't very accurate. Its cold in here, (Brrrr....) and I'm tired. (Yes, it's their fault.) However, the staff is very friendly and professional. If I live long enough to see my daughter discharged home, I'd likely bring her back (God forbid) if she needs it. Note: I expect after reading my review, people would say, "Well it is an ER, of course it could be longer than anticipated. Everything depends on emergencies which could be more serious." I get that, BUT while we were waiting, I kept checking the LMH Web site to see if their "wait time" was increasing. It was not. In fact, it continued to drop all evening. At one point, the wait time was 32 minutes. So again, don't believe it. When we left, there were 19 patients waiting in the lobby and I over heard a nurse saying they were "getting killed" (so busy). read more

I've been here twice. First time I would have given it three maybe four stars because as soon as I got in the ER the front staff took one look at me and I heard one lady say to the other "she actually looks sick" well duh I'm in the ER. Despite like 20 others being in the waiting room I got taken straight back to a room and didn't have to wait. Doc and nurse came in and tests were ordered, IV fluids and meds given. The nurse was ok but the doctor was awful. Horrible bedside manner and arrogance. Well long story short despite my labs being off and vitals not stable I was not admitted and was sent home and the next day I was admitted at St.Anns. They were neglectful and I should have been admitted based on my labs and vitals and having no way to get nutrition or hydration. Was admitted at St.Anns for almost two weeks and was given a central line and started on TPN. Second time I was here it was a complete joke and humiliating. I get that they have psych for a reason and it's there for people who need it but I'm not one of those people yet I was treated like one. There was a misunderstanding between a so called friend and I and I was a little tipsy and a stupid comment was made and she called the cops on me to do a welfare check and it was like almost midnight and I was trying to go to bed. Well I get there and they take me back to a psych area and they take all of my stuff. Clothes, jewelry, phone, purse and even my friggin hair tie. I was beyond pissed at this point. I've NEVER had any psych issues or history in my life. The nurse came in and tried to draw blood which was traumatic. They had to stick me three times and she had no idea what she was doing it seemed like and was totally unsterile. I'm in nursing school so I know how it's supposed to be done and it was not done right. I sat and waited in an empty room for nearly three hours before a social worker came in and asked me like a hundred ridiculous questions then she said she was going to talk to the doctor and about an hour later she came back and was like how are you getting home you're free to go. So basically just wasted five hours of my time when I should be sleeping. The doctor never saw me once while I was there and the two nurses were beyond rude and disrespectful. I don't know if it's because of a person being back in psych but it's unacceptable and you all should be ashamed if you're treating patients like that in a time of when they need support and not someone looking down on them. But anyways the whole experience was awful and I had to sit in the waiting room trying not to fall asleep for almost two hours while I waited for a friend to wake up to come get me since Uber and lyft or scarce these days. Atleast the social worker was nice and could see there was no reason for me to be there. Smdh. read more

Been waiting hours, everytime I've been here they have made me wait. I have liver issues in the past and I was sent home, just to come back and be hospitalized for 3 days for the reason they sent me home. Now ive been in here waiting for 2 hours now for strep throat, didnt offer a drink or any way to help me so far. I'd rate this facility a 0 if I could. The nurse I had was very nice, but other then that my whole experience was horrible. They didn't even have me change in to hospital clothes and kept the door open the whole time. They were very quick with me and didn't seem very worried about me or my intense back pain. They checked my chest but that's about it, they were too lazy to check me for anything else and said "you did say you had slight bronchitis so that's your back pain. Here's 600 mg ibuprofen." The ibuprofen doesn't even help and my back pain is just getting worse and my chest is in a lot of pain also. I can't even sleep, breathe, or stand with out pain in both areas. I've given birth, had an ear infection so bad they gave me morpheme, also a dog bite so big and bad they couldn't give me stitches and I was on crutches for 2 weeks. This pain is one of the worst I've felt and I'm a server and they wouldn't even write me a note for work and said I should be able to work. This hospital is absolutely ridiculous so now that it's so bad and might be pneumonia I've dragged my baby and husband out of bed so I can go to a hospital 45 min away to get me and my daughter checked to make sure I don't have pneumonia and make sure I didn't somehow spread it to my baby. read more

This is a horrible hospital. The emergency room is a disaster. The staff is unprofessional and has no bed side manners. You wait for hours and you leave in the same situation you came in. I sat for 2 hours with chest pains and shortness of breath. My bp was through the roof. Had an xray and blood work was told to take prednisone an inhaler and see ya later.
