They had a self check in, which was super easy and efficient The staff are friendly and accommodating The wait was less than 10 minutes just be seen by a nurse And within five minutes, I was seen by the doctor I had an allergic reaction to Semaglutide, but I also had a sinus infection and an ear infection. I have not been able to get out of bed for four days due to the massive headache that I had. Amy Cohagen DO was compassionate and gave me exactly what I needed to be on the mend. Antibiotic steroid but the magic was in the headache medication that she ordered for me. Within a few short hours, I was able to get out of bed and begin to have life normal again Keep in mind, had been to the ER the night before and was still desperate to get rid of my headache. Unfortunately. I had to visit this location twice in the last 6 months. Once for extremely high blood pressure and the next time for a majority and painful ear infection. Both time, the lady at checkin was polite and friendly. I did not wait very long, maybe 10 minutes, before I was called back to an exam room. Waited maybe another 10 minutes befor the doctor came in. I don't recall anyone's names but I do believe I had the same woman doctor both times. I would go back to this location if needed. one of the worst visits i've ever had. doctor and nurse did not do a thorough enough consultation or ask enough questions to get a baseline of my day to day condition, therefore writing me off as just another college kid who can't handle whatever ailments that come my way. still unsure as to how serious the allergic reaction is that caused me to go in because of such neglect. hopefully nothing terrible happens, however this place is just waiting for a malpractice lawsuit. read more

Newark Valley Urgent Care has always provided good care for myself and my family in a pinch. But last night, they try went above and beyond. I had an accident that left me needing stitches. As my timing would happen , my husband and I had a rare date night to see a movie. The entire staff appreciated out plans and they all worked together, especially Terri Hempleman, the nurse practitioner who stitched me up. They cleaned it thoroughly and closed me up. We ended up making it to our movie. I truly appreciate the prompt , and competent staff. I'm sure this is not the first time they have done this. We will definitely be back. We have used this urgent care SEVERAL TIMES! I have NEVER had a bad experience. The receptionist is kind and the nurses have been friendly and helpful. Receptionist very rude. Person who looked at my grandson gave him a quick once over without a real thorough exam and claimed he had the flu. No, he does not! Where is the swab to prove this? Tried to push Tamiflu on him- was refused. He was taken to his primary doctor the very next morning and he has a virus- NO FLU. Is this company getting kickbacks for filing bogus claims of flu and pushing Tamiflu- known to 'shed' and give others the flu????? They have lost credibility with our family. read more

The receptionist was very rude and some of the nurses seemed uptight when they came out to the waiting room to call for someone. My son had an obvious case of cellulitis. Service was quick and the doctor was very personable and took his time with us. He prescribed my son a "strong antibiotic" with warnings to head to Children's if it wasn't doing the trick. After two days, the infection hadn't improved so we went to Children's. They were completely confused as to why the Urgent Care doctor had prescribed an antibiotic for ear infections instead of the common one used for cellulitis/skin infections. Within a day on the correct antibiotic, the infection cleared up. So the visit to urgent care was a complete waste of time and money and made my son suffer through two more days of pain before he got real relief. read more

My son broke his arm playing lacrosse. I had xrays that had been taken half an hour before at Children's. They were not casting his arm, just bandaging it until Mon. when we could get to the orthapedic surgeon. They insisted on taking additional xrays. We spent almost two hours there, with probably two other patients in the place. Yes, on the rude receptionist. We had been to this place about a year before with an even worse experience. I would drive to Columbus for Urgent Care before returning to this place. read more

Visited Newark Valley Urgent Care on New Year's Eve day. They had quite a few people waiting but I got taken in in about 15 minutes. Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was very kind, friendly and professional. I got chest xrays, a breathing treatment, medication, and instructions in a quick but friendly manor. I will never go back to this urgent care again. I was prescribed an antibiotic and it is making me so much sicker than I was before I even went to see them. I called to ask if they could just give me a new antibiotic I was very nice and they were so rude and said that I must be taking it wrong and should stop taking it and start it up gain tomorrow, why so it can make me sick again. I have never been spoken to like that, I thought there job was to make me feel better not make me feel worse I should have just went to my real doctor at least he listens to how I feel. read more
