This is a cute plant store that I didn't know about. I stopped by for Ritual Grounds Coffee which is parked in their parking lot so extremely convenient if you want to grab a coffee or matcha and go shopping. They have an outside and indoor section with a large variety of plants. They have a big parking lot in front so parking isn't an issue. I highly recommend checking them out. read more

I love visiting new plant shops because I feel like I've turned a new leaf. Okay, okay, enough plant jokes! I have had Lida's on my list of places to stop for a while now & I finally stopped. There were only a few people in there on a Thursday afternoon, which made it the perfect environment to explore on my own. As there are isles and isles of plants, and when you think you've seen them all, look up because there are likely some hanging above your head. The selection was nothing short of impressive, but my most highlighted and memorable thing walking away was the personable workers. I walked up ignorantly trying to get assistance on the best plant for me and my environment & both were so detailed in helping. I ended up getting a huge monstera (probably spelled that wrong) for only $32! Overall I can't wait to go back and explore the selection next time I want a new plant! read more

Lida's Jungle has got some really attractive and healthy looking plants. Every time I visit I have to contain myself and only allow myself to get 2 plants at a time because at this point I'm running out of windows for all the indoor plants I've bought from them. They've got themselves an even more gorgeous new location now, you've really got to check it out for yourself. In their new spot you can find soil and soil amendments, pots, all kinds of plants of course and other random goodies. I was told by one of the workers they're mid setting up the outdoor space for workshops which will be coming in the future. Love that they're always evolving and getting the community involved too. read more

Very nice plant shop. A good variety of plants with mostly competitive prices compared to other plant shops and local big box stores in the St, Pete area. The owner herself has been there working many times I've been there plant shopping. She and her staff have been friendly and tried to answer my questions. My only quibble is that some of the "rarer" or in demand plants are a bit too expensive. I've compared prices to other online retailers (who I trust) for the same rare plants and even with shipping, Lida's prices are higher. But, you are paying for the convenience of taking a healthy (they do take care of their plants, making it a very nice shopping experience) rare plant home that day-- one you have examined before purchasing (unlike online purchasing). So, perhaps it's worth the extra price. Just something to keep in mind. I recommend this store. read more

Sooo cute! I love plants, and Lisa's Jungle is a tropical oasis at the heart (literally Central Ave) of St. Pete with affordable plants and knowledgeable employees. I first saw Lida's Plants on Instagram and I love visiting plant shops in the area so I had to visit when my brother and I stopped by St Pete for the Fourth of July. I got there around 1:45 PM and the employee working there told us they were closing at 2 PM for holiday hours (I thought they were closing at 4 PM bc the shop that shares their space, Sans Market, closed at that time). Either way, the employee was super nice and told me to take my time and that he'd be around until ~2:20 PM, which I'm so thankful for. I tried to make my browse quick though so he could close up on time! The front table that greets you is loaded with delightful small plants while the side shelves have larger plants as well as succulents. There were quite a few of uncommon plants you usually wouldn't find at big box stores like Lowe's/Home Depot! I was specifically looking for a white fusion calathea (prayer plant) because I've been eyeing one for a while, and they had it! (As well as other types of calatheas). THEN though, the plant underneath caught my eye and it was something I've been searching for, for a while: Rhaphidophora decursiva! I'm telling you I was pleasantly surprised and even more so at the PRICE. Usually for smaller plant stores at popular locations you get a mediocre to high price for plants. But the prices here were so reasonable!! The calathea I got was in a 6 in pot and well established; I got it for $10 less than a large nursery in Seffner was selling them for. The decursiva was also one of the lowest prices I've seen for one growing fenestrations on its leaf already without being imported from out of the US. I thought it was a huge steal, as I'm pretty cheap-o when it comes to plants and I walked out with two beauties!! Gorgeous store, fun plants, and a knowledgeable employee made my experience worth it at this place. The prices really sealed the deal and I'm excited to return! read more

I decided to check out the actual brick and mortar store as I have only ever seen their store on IG. I also received a vet healthy pepperomia plant from them at a yelp elite event which was super cool too! They share a space with a reuse recycle type business, so when you walk in it smells super! Like essential oils! That employee for that business was super friendly. I can't say the same for Lida's. The guy working was on his phone the whole time and didn't even bother ever getting me. I had a few questions but never got to ask because he seemed distracted. The space is super small and when I went they didn't have a very large amount of options. Many I already had. Prices were okay. I don't know if I'll go back or not. I guess if I'm in the area I may. read more

I just popped my Sans Market/Lida's Jungle cherry and oh wow, did it feel GREAT! The gentleman (wish I'd gotten his name) was so incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Even though I'm clearly an absolute novice to plant care, he answered all my questions and gave some great suggestions, and all without judgment or condescension. Prices were fair and it's clear how much he cares for the plants. Be warned: they always get new stock so it will be fun to come back and see what new treasures they have. But it's also anxiety provoking, so if you have your eye on a plant, GET IT! as it likely won't be there next time. Lida was even there coloring and offering advice. Even she was very knowledgeable and professional (much more so than many adult employees in other stores!) Kudos to her parents for raising such an awesome kid and kudos on transferring that love into a plant store too. I'm already addicted to the thought of all the plants I could explore and will definitely be back soon! read more

A nice and simple experience from start to finish. I explored downtown St. Pete today with my best friend who is a local and she wanted to show me a lot of the local, small businesses. There are two parts to the store, one is a natural household good type section and one is plants, they also have a bulk bar which seems to fall under the household good store. Focusing primarily on the plant portion for this review, there was a wide variety of plants available all of which looked incredibly healthy and a lot of accessories available for the plants. This included things like soil additives that were natural, pots, and a few other things like macramé hangers. All of the plants have pricing written on the pots that are plastic and has the writing and what appears to be a liquid chalk. I looked around at the plants but noticed they didn't have any soil and I wasn't in the right place to purchase a full sized plant, so I opted for one of the little moss balls instead. Inside a tiny jar filled with water and crystals, a little tiny green moss ball can be found for what I purchased. Although a little pricey at $16 for that little vial, it's cute enough and supports an ethically responsible business so I was happy to help. If anything it'll make a cute desk accessory for my home office. The guy working the desk was very knowledgeable and friendly as well, I enjoyed chatting with him! read more

We unknowingly came into the store a little before closing but they were so nice and let us walk around and buy what we needed. The smaller plants are more interesting, better priced, and better cared for than the ones you'd normally see at chain store like Home Depot, Lowe's etc. Definitely planning on visiting again :) read more

The single worst experience I have had at any kind of retail establishment in a minute. Total high school energy from the two women who worked there. My friend and I went to Lidia's around 4P on March 12. Again, I cannot stress how bad my experience and the overall vibe was (in a freaking plant store!). We were the only shoppers in the store. The two salesgirls were standing at the counter, with their backs actively turned towards us, completely ignoring our presence. I have never had worse service in my life. We were not welcomed, acknowledged or greeted with a hello or any kind of greeting. In fact, we were made to feel unwelcome. The attitude of the two women working was beyond. Like girl, you work at a plant store, not Hermes. What's with the negative energy? The one with the thigh band tattoo almost ran into me with a box of plants after we were there for a few, so the two people who worked there were more than aware of our presence. The whole vibe was very unwelcoming, unpleasant and uncomfortable. Are these two afraid of eye contact, like wild creatures on the Savannah? My friend and I both collect rare plants, so we were stoked to visit. In fact, I was looking for a specific plant (a Monstera dubia, but based on the selection that is def too rare for this store). the salesgirls' vibes were so bad I didn't even want to ask if they had the plant I wanted. My friend wanted to buy the big fuzzy vine in the front (it had something about "we deliver" scrawled on the pot, but no price or name), but again, we didn't want to disturb the women working by asking outlandish questions like the price, shade requirements or name of a plant they were selling. I needed soil, moss poles and some other random stuff (and I am always down to buy a new plant friend), but I am certainly not going to give my money to a store that does not make me feel welcome or acknowledge me with the basic decency afforded to another human living in community on this big space rock. Even if the people who worked here weren't awful, I still wouldn't shop here. The prices are bananas for the same mass produced, straight from wholesale Homestead nursery plants as Home Depot or Lowes (with a side of the worst attitude I have ever experienced in any store, anywhere ever). The selection of Aroids was hella basic and $$$$ for what they were. I can think of at least 5 local businesses/plant people off the top my head that have a way bigger selection, less attitude and better prices. It's a bummer bc I am a crazy plant lady who lives literally down the block (I'm sure you've seen my plants/yard driving by) and I prefer to support local plant businesses, but I will not patronize this store. Y'all lost two good customers today. I can't wait to tell all my houseplant and gardening homies about what a terrible, lk hostile experience I had today at your store. First of all I highly recommend this store for two outstanding reasons! One the people who own this shop are very kind and friendly, they make you feel very welcome. The other is if you want healthy plants that are grown by people who truly love what they do, which is giving there plants lots of love, than this is the place to go. I have to leave today for a dealth in my life and a few days ago I needed something I had to be done over and it was a short thing to ask because I first told them to take there time and I will get it next week. But this happen and I ask them within almost a day if they could finish this for me since I am leaving today as we speak. They had no problem and the next morning I went in and it was done. It was done so well and what I wanted. And I knew it was done with love and care. Thank you both! read more
