I spent quite a bit of money here and bought not only dirt, but Native plants, and one plant I paid 150 bucks for. Even though I showed them a picture that I thought the plant had something on it that possibly came from the nursery And it was 6 feet tall and was dying and they wouldn't honor any kind of guarantee, even though I have several other plants that were also watered by the same person that all lived. The way I was treated by their staff member like he could care less and it didn't make any difference. I wouldn't shop here again. You're better off buying your plants at Home Depot or Lowe's for the price instead of supporting them as much as I like to support small businesses I also can't support businesses that don't take care of their customers.. read more

The nursery has a large selection and knowledgeable people. Some people are friendlier than others. My biggest disappointment is they do not offer volume discounts which other nurseries provide. I purchased a large tree (30 gal+) and a dozen azaleas for a small project and told them I do this on a regular bases. Unfortunately no discount so I won't be going back. read more

I went to willow tree for the first time today. This place is awesome and all the staff is friendly and knowledgeable! I bought a beautiful magnolia tree and some plants. The very nicest nursery and house plant source as well as outdoor trees and plants. Beautifully laid out grounds and well tended paths with occasional interesting garden sculptures (old machinery, some statuary). All the plants are well cared for. There is a good selection of houseplants including rarer varieties of calathea, hoya, and alocasia to name a few. Of course it depends on the day you go and what deliveries they've had. The prices are good/competitive, although like other nurseries some very rare/popular varieties can be pricey. Even if you don't buy, it's fun to just walk around all the paths of indoor and outdoor plants-well ordered and beautiful. It's a good place to get bonsai accessories, pots and tools. The staff has always been pleasant and answered my questions. Recommend a visit if you are a "planty" person or if you just need a certain plant. read more

Great nursery with lots of different plants. I can't believe it took me this long to make a trip here. I only looked at the indoor plant area and they had so many plants at a good price. All of the plants looked so healthy and lush. I came for a bird of paradise and somehow ended up leaving with four plants lol. The checkout system is organized and everyone I spoke with that works there was very friendly. They have planters and cement garden figures for sale too. This has always been my go to nursery due to selection and variety of plants they stock; however in this past year their prices didn't just ratchet up, they leaped! Standard stock perennials that were 2.99 are now 5.99 and up. They have outpaced my pocketbook. What a shame! read more

Avoid this place, at least for the next few weeks. They are redoing the parking lot and have closed half of it. I asked where to park and received no answer, only that they had work to do. So I nestled my car along the the side. After I paid, I guy came out and hassled me about where I parked. I was not blocking anybody or anything. My friend purchase a Magnolia tree from Willow for my sons adoption. I contacted Willow the next day to hire them to come out and plant the tree. Through out the next several months I reached out to Willow on multiple occasions saying the tree was not in good shape and their response is just.... keep watering it even though I said there is zero leafs. Last time I contacted them telling them there is no leafs and nothing green their response was that I was not watering it enough enough though it's on a timer to get watered. Their customer service is terrible. I bought a bag of Fertilome Ultra Potting Mix and the bag was full of yellow mold. I called and got zero help. They could not tell me if this mold was dangerous and were completely uninterested in finding out about it or offering to make it good by replacing the product. On top of that, the receipt I got when I made the purchase is so vague I can't even prove what I bought. Instead of product details all it says is "Soil" without reference to the specific product I bought. This is shoddy business practice and I'll be very careful making any purchases there in the future, if I go back at all. read more

Because they are local and of good quality, I have shopped at Willow Tree for years. When checking out the other day, I asked the clerk why none of the employees were wearing face masks. He rudely responded, "look around, we are outside". We were NOT outside, we were in a building with garage doors. While shopping "outdoors" or in canvas structures, it was impossible to shop without constantly backing up from the employees or customers, none whom were wearing masks. Whether its ignorance, a political statement or they just don't care, not to do the very basic thing to protect your customers (and staff for that matter) isn't somewhere I will ever shop again. I had the strangest experience today when I called Willow Tree Nursery. I have been there several times to shop for hedges for my front porch. A man answered and I asked him if clusia would work for a 4ft high porch and his tone and answer was so condescending that it shocked me! He spoke to me as if I were ignorant. I've never been spoken to like that. He was incredibly rude. I was in my car on my way to make my purchase so instead, I drove to Home Depot and spent my money there. I do not have a green thumb. I'm from San Francisco, lived in a city with no gardening options for 20 years. I have been trying to grow some pest-repelling herbs for several months and finally decided to buy some lavender. I found out that lavender is notoriously hard to grow.
