If you or a loved one is suffering and in pain, nobody here gives a S*!T. Apparently, CALLING IN A SIMPLE PRESCRIPTION FOR PAIN MEDICATION (non narcotic btw) IS TOO MUCH TO ASK OF THESE ROBOTIC, SOULLESS MEDICAL WORKERS! Took my 90 year old father, a 2-time CANCER PATIENT here yesterday because Dr. Shaum had successfully treated him for cancer a year ago (at another office - not the Angeles Clinic). We were on time for his appt., the waiting room was empty when we arrived, but we had to wait 40 minutes to be taken in to the exam room. Finally in the exam room with the doctor & a uniformed employee who didn't identify herself, there was a lengthy discussion about treatment options - I brought up the issue of getting him pain medication because he's suffering, in pain, from nasty sores in his mouth that make it too painful to eat. After looking at the sores, CURIOUSLY, neither the Dr. or the nurse in the exam room with us asked about his pain level--I brought it up (he doesn't speak english). We discussed pain medication options, decided on a topical gel that would be safe for him, and the doctor concluded with "We'll get you that". More discussion about his chemotherapy options, then the exam ended and we left. On the drive home, it occurred to me that the nurse didn't mention she'd call the prescription for pain medicine in...it was just sort of "bye". 1. 1:00 pm Tuesday: I phoned the office to make sure the prescription would be called in, no one was available to speak to me so I left a detailed voicemail message. Four hours later, no return phone call from Chanel, the nurse to Dr. Shaum, or anyone from the Clinic. 2. 5:15 pm Tuesday: I called a SECOND time, this time, was told by the answering service that the entire staff had already gone home. Again, left a second detailed VM message about getting the pain medication prescription called into our local pharmacy. No one called me back yesterday evening or today, 21 hours later. I called our pharmacy to check if the prescription had been called in; sadly no, the clinic did NOT call in the prescription for my dad. 3. 1:20 pm Wednesday, next day. My THIRD phone call to this clinic, was told Chanel, Dr. Shaum's nurse, was 'out to lunch'. I asked the receptionist if Chanel listens to her voicemail messages, because we needed the prescription yesterday and now we're coming up on Christmas holiday closures...AND MY DAD IS STILL IN PAIN WITH NO PAIN MEDICATION!!!! 4. In the meantime, around noon Wednesday (same day), my sister tried calling this clinic to try to get a hold of SOMEONE, ANYONE who could call in the pain medication for our dad before the office closes for the holidays. The woman she spoke with asked for the name of the medication; well, Dr. Shaum never told us what the name of the medication was...more runaround..."would you like to leave a message?" was all the staffer could do for my sister. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TYPE OF LAZY/ INCOMPETENT? AND UNCARING ATTITUDE TOWARDS A PATIENT IN PAIN.

He was calm, clear, and decisive about the next steps. By the time we arrived at the ER, Dr. Movassaghi had already called ahead, ensuring we received immediate attention: a room, vitals taken, pain management, and diagnostic tests were all initiated without delay. He arrived shortly thereafter and performed emergency surgery in the middle of the night to resolve the issue. While this may be part of his job, Dr. Movassaghi's follow-through, availability, and humble bedside manner went above and beyond. He demonstrates true dedication to his patients -- without any ego, and with genuine care. As a bonus, his office staff are also friendly, professional, and supportive. We are deeply grateful for the care we received.

From the initial shock of diagnosis she explained everything in such a warm, clear and complete way that I just put myself in her hands and the anxiety left and never returned, even throughout the pre-op procedures, bilateral surgery and post-op check ups. She is quite a pioneer with breast conserving methods and intra-operative radiation so I did not have follow-up radiation, a big relief. Most of all I appreciate the way she tunes into the moment in such a compassionate way, fully attentive. I have a hazy recollection of coming off the anesthesia and feeling her holding my hand. The Margie Peterson Breast Center and Providence St. John's was wonderful throughout, so thorough and kind. Dr. Grumley runs the Breast Center and her kindness permeates the whole environment. I am deeply thankful that my also-wonderful internist Dr. Sorotzkin immediately recommended Dr. Grumley. Both women are everything you could want for medical care. I know that's not necessarily a common expression, so I am quite the lucky patient.

She seemed perfectly fine, however this was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a medical provider because of the office staff. AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COSTS. Omodele Leach (the admin) made it nearly impossible to make an appointment at all, let alone receive care in any meaningful way. I went the extra mile to provide all of my medical records, imaging, surgery notes, etc. in multiple formats to make it as easy as possible to get my information to the doctor, however every single time I contacted Omodele, she made excuses (her computer didn't work, she couldn't download a PDF, she didn't remember, the scheduling person was out, the document was too long for her to read, etc.) This resulted in: A 2+ month delay in getting an appointment None of my records even reached the doctor for review before my appointment The insurance info I provided multiple times was not on file when I arrived The intake form was never sent to me My CD with previous imaging wasn't provided to the imaging facility Dr. Grumley referred me to and then was never returned to me I had to follow up repeatedly to get a response at all (which was irritating for me having a serious but not fatal condition, but would be an absolutely despicable burden to impose on patients living with cancer). I repeatedly received incorrect dates, addresses, and information for appointments and imaging referrals. I had to beg Omodele to give me the correct imaging facilty name and address for an MRI and only received it 1 day before the appointment. It's completely unacceptable that this incompetent admin is the gatekeeper to medical care at this clinic. Dr. Grumley seemed thoughtful and was responsive, but because of her office staff I cannot emphasize this enough: STAY FAR AWAY.

This review is not for the doctor but for the multiple communications with his support team. A…read moredoctor may think this unfair but when your care team is sub par it does reflect negatively on the doctor. Sometimes unknown to them and sometimes because they do not care. I am not sure where it falls in here. I have phoned at least four times in the last few years. I had an acoustic tumor that grew aggressively (not a norm for this type of tumor) into the brain stem. I wanted to get another opinion because I have had 'inconclusive' on the final reads (whether there was additional growth) and I wanted to make sure I did not get into another life-threatening situation (my first surgery was emergency with a 2% chance of survival which I thankfully survived). I would get sent to the voice mail of his nurse at which time I would get a follow up weeks later. Cut to now a few years since I phoned and got the 'inconclusive' read on my last MRI (with and without contrast) but now with a possible sign of growth so, again, I phoned Dr. Kellys' office only to be told he does not deal with Schwannomas. I was never informed of this in prior communications with the office (which is odd). I always stated what type of tumor I had and reports and scans were sent. Then his nurse said she was forwarding my information to another doctor that deals with the aforementioned type of tumor. I never heard from them. Then, maybe three months later (or more) I got a call from someone that did not say their name (just stated Pacific Neurosurgery) and called from a private number. Just to reiterate, this is now 1/3 of a year later. Buyer beware.
