I am giving a 5 star. *Cut outs are thick and icing is good. Cute variety of designs. *The brownies are perfection one of the best and I have tried many. *Peanut butter bars that are chocolate covered cut large and very very good. The donuts looked great with many different decorations. There was room for so much more. I had to ask if they sold cakes, a cake or mini decorated cakes would have been nice to see. A photo book, anything, if they have it...I was not told about it. The cookies looked average. Need updated to todays style a bit and topped with the items inside may help them look better. I love to see the Facebook page photos posted very often if not daily. The location could use gift boxes, balloon options, ribbons etc to make these LOVELY baked goods become a gift as the reason I did going there to begin with. If they have that option it was not suggested. The locatiin more than tough to find, after 4th try on WAZE app. I luckily found it. So thats a very big issue. I would BY FAR travel the extra 30 minutes just to go there. Its by far a stop as long as they are open to add to your day. Proud the staff does a very nice job!!!!!! Suggestions to staff: Decorate the cut outs let them dry well for hours or overnight covered on a rack and package in Cello bags. Great for gift giving, sanitary for staff events, stay fresh longer by far. Getting a box of goodies to go is nice but even the brownies and peanut butter bars can be sealed in cello bags to keep the product fresh and by itself in the box. First time get donuts from Liebermann's and they were delicious. The cream sticks were fresh and full of cream. The staff was friendly and store was clear of obstructions. There is no room for seating or seating available. The decor is similar to other local donut shops with general donut display cases. My best friend and I stopped here after grabbing coffee just down the street one day. I had seen their posts in a Facebook group, and I told myself I just needed to try! The blueberry filled donuts have my heart. I do not think I have had a better filled donut! I was in love! I find myself thinking about them often, hahaha! Friendly service and even though I was there kind of late (close to 9 AM) in the morning there was still a decent selection of donuts and cookies. Lieberman's was always the best bakery, I've been going there for 40 years they had the best old fashion chocolate chip cookies! This is the first I've been there since the new ownership and I have to say I'll NEVER go back. They changed the recipes, the Old fashion Chocolate Chip cookies are a lot darker, saltier, and softer than before (they used to be so light they almost looked white, and they are showing the former owners pictures on their online menu! And they no longer look the same either!). The smiley cookies taste like cardboard and those use to be good (personally I'd rather have the football cookie, but they where out of those). Between the 2 I bought a dozen and cost me almost $20.00 for this garbage. I know nothing ever stays the same, but why buy a well established bakery (it's been a Massillon staple since the 1880's) and think you have to change things??? If you were going to do that you should have changed the name to something completely different, not just by adding "and Beyond" to the original name. It is Beyond different. The end of an error.... I've been coming to this bakery since I was a little girl, but unfortunately won't be going anymore. The baked goods are definitely 'beyond' what us old timers are used to. From what I was told the recipes were being sold with the building when the original family sold it. The cookies, donuts, etc. are nothing like the original baked goods. I grew up in Massillon. I've enjoyed Liebermann's since the 1960's. I took a friend today to sample those wonderful pastries as I remembered them. Well they are no longer wonderful. The new owners attitude was poor at best with no respect for the tradition and love that the Liebermann family put into that bakery for 3 generations. He does not want to carry the tradition forward obviously. I left feeling like a part of Massillon has died. read more

Being an out-of-towner who frequently visits the Massillon area, I was surprised I had never heard of Liebermann's Bakery. I discovered it when I attended an event at the Massillon Museum where they had some cookies from Liebermann's for the guests. (Of COURSE they were football cookies.) A few days ago my cousin and I realized that we had cash for once (Liebermann's only takes cash and check), we decided to go Libermann's for some donuts and cookies. We ordered three creamsticks, two smiley face cookies, the apricot pastry, two glazed donuts, and the chocolate whoopie pie. The donuts were all so fresh, and we agreed the creamsticks were the bomb. We are so-so on the donuts; to me it tasted as if the icing had some of that funnel cake taste. And I LOVED the chocolate whoopie pie. I would totally go back to Liebermann's, even if just to see the art deco cases. I give this a four just because when my cousin and I went the staff didn't seem super thrilled to be there, but they were helpful enough. read more

Your bakery is NOT producing any bake good the same as your predecessor. When I visit my hometown, Lieberman's is one of my first stops. It's like being transported back in time...primarily because it looks and smells EXACTLY the same as it did when I was a little girl. I mean NOTHING has changed, and I'd venture to say that nothing has changed since my mother was a little girl and walked there from her family home sixty years ago-the well-worn, creaky wood floors, the cabinetry, the glass cases and racks...all decades old. Everything is made fresh and in small batches, so you need to get there early if you want to snag a creamstick or one of their famous smiley face cookies. If you rolll in around noon on a Saturday, they probably won't even be open. The poppyseed rolls are my all time favorite dinner roll. All the goodies are identified by handwritten cards...this bakery is genuinely quaint, and truly a treasure in the city of Massillon. read more

I've heard rumors that this place is closing down and I can see why. I checked the time online because I wanted to get some cupcakes and it said it closed at 5:30 so I left the house, 5 minutes away, at 4:00. Had to drive around for 15 MINUTES trying to find a place to get into the block because the ENTIRE DOWNTOWN was blocked and fenced in. I felt like being in a cattle ranch. There is NO NEED to fence in crap. Got to the door at 4:45 and THEY WERE CLOSED. A whole display case of cupcakes was stocked, probably to sell the next day, meaning they would be stale. That kind of stuff might have been okay when they were the only bakery in this town, but I can name 5 different bakeries in the area now. They can't pull bullshit like this anymore. Heard it changed hands so that may explain it. 1 star ONLY because I can't do zero. read more

I remember this bakery was the best since I have been a young child . I have not been to for quite some time . And it's a SHAME ... it's not like it used to be . FIRST , when I did go in I found the lady's behind then counter rude ! The cake was made with the name spelled wrong . Strangely, a search for "bakeries" "near Massillon" doesn't turn up Liebermann's. More the pity. This place really took me back to the way bakeries used to be...women in uniforms, art deco lettering over the shelves, and non-trendy baked goods that really taste good. Under different circumstances, I easily could have bought dozens of everything for freezing, but it was too early in my travels and I was flying home. The prices are certainly right (cash only) and the donuts will make you wonder why anyone would go crazy for a Krispy Kreme. The bear claw has jam rather than chocolate, nuts or poppy seed, but it works just as well. The cookies also are quite good. Fine bakeries like this used to be a fixture of urban neighborhoods and small towns and hopefully enough people know about this place to keep it going. read more
