Edison, the driver, was extremely pleasant and very careful with my friend who is in a wheelchair and needed to be taken down some steps to be lifted into the van. She was secured in her wheelchair prior to leaving the house and was safely secured in the van. I was happy that I could ride with her. Our ride home was scheduled for 12:00 but her exam ran later than expected, and Edison waited until we were ready to go home. We would use this company again. read more

We booked a ride and prepaid and was told the pick up time frame was 10:00am-1:00pm. As 1pm approached I called to see what was going on. I was told they're running behind and pick up would be 2. Received a text pick up is 2:34. At 3:49 I called and they said they were dropping off a patient at the same facility and picking up my Mom. She was finally on her way at 4:17. There was zero communication unless I called for an update. I had an aide waiting for my mom since 3pm...who pays for that since they texted eta is 2:34? So disappointed and don't recommend. The driver, William, was very pleasant and patient with my father, and was so much more helpful getting my father into the home than his job required, and so helpful with the wheelchair transport. Life Ride is completely unreliable. In case you need this timeline to see for yourself : 1. They were scheduled in advance to be at CC at 7am to pick up my mom and they got there at 7:32am for a scheduled surgery my mom had that morning. 2. The driver, to my surprise was the same driver who took my mother into oncoming traffic last Friday 1/3. 3. When they dropped off my mom at 8:10am, the surgery center asked them how much lead time they need for a call to pick her up after surgery and the driver said 1 hour. 4. After my mom's surgery the nurse called Life Ride at 12:30pm to pick her up. 6. No one called to say they would be late. So the nurse here called again at 2:30 and they said they would be here at 3pm. 7. At 3:15 pm the nurse called life ride again and they told them they were about 21 minutes out. 7. At 3:40 pm the nurse called again to see where they were and they were 17 minutes out. Sorry but this is completely irresponsible and unacceptable. Do they only have 1 van?! read more

I needed a basic ride back home from a colonoscopy, and they did a good job. They arrived within 15 mins of the requested pickup time, driver was courteous, and got me home safe. The hospital staff (Morristown Medical Center) also seemed familiar with this transport service. I did reserve the ride several months in advance, prepaid, and gave a pickup time that turned out to be quite accurate--so maybe that helped with on-time performance. Leaving the Short Hills mall, the scary driver honked people for no reason at a light when cars were turning right. Then, the scary one started changing lanes several times without signaling. Unfortunately I have had several incidents with this particular medical transportation company. They really don't care about the quality of service they provide. The issue today is only one of the many reasons that I am leaving this review. I had an appointment to have a tooth extracted @ 11:30. My ride was scheduled to pick me up at 10:45 am. At 11:00 I call to find out what time they would be arriving and I received a text message as I was calling telling me that they would be 10-15 minutes late. I returned inside my place because I was waiting outside for them because when they come to pick me up they knock and aggravate my dogs. They still had not arrived by 11:25 so I called again and actually spoke to a representative. I was told that the driver was not going to arrive to get me for another half an hour, causing me to miss my appointment. Leaving me in pain for an additional three days because the next available appointment is not until Friday. This is the first time I have had issues with pick up. Last Thursday I was taken to an appointment and never picked up. Fortunately that appointment was close enough that I could get home however it was not safe because I am a wheelchair user and there are no sidewalks to get to the doctor's office and I had to ride on a very busy road to reach the sidewalk during rush hour. I had another incident where I was left at the Cancer Center after radiation and chemotherapy for 3 hours and 45 minutes and had to call a family who was working quite far at the time to come pick me up. Life Ride is a third party provider so I don't really have any choice if they are sent to provide me transportation but I have requested to never to use them again. These are just some of the worst experience I have had with the company, there are more. I would not recommend anyone who has a choice to use the company. read more

My 99-year-old cousin was at rehab and upon discharge, life ride was contracted for a wheelchair pick up to take her home, up 10 stairs and into the home. We were given a 3-hour window, which the company did not show up for nor did they call regarding being late. They were called numerous times! Apparently, they only have 1 person that can do this type of pickup and overbooked him! 3 hours after our window of time, Reggie arrived (who was wonderful - hence the star for him)! He was on his way home when he got the call to pick her up?! How could you book a pick-up without notifying a driver? How does a company stay in business that lacks communication skills and the ability to schedule -- I don't know? I do know that I will not be using or recommending them, and I don't believe the rehab facility will be either! Transportation for a crucial post surgical follow up was arranged at least a week ahead of time for my father at a physical rehab facility. His condition is precarious and this appointment is urgently important as there are complications from the surgery. The driver not only arrived more than an hour late for the pickup, but then refused to take him because there wasn't sufficient ROOM IN THE VEHICLE FOR HIM!! He missed his appointment and had to reschedule after months of waiting for surgery and while now continuing to be delirious weeks later likely due to a worsening infection that should have been addressed this morning along with removal of catheter that is now also overdue and a further risk of worsening the problem. If he does even worse clinically because of missing this appointment or gets septic overnight, there will be a lawsuit. read more

One of the worst Ambulance services. They have forgotten to properly buckle patients into the Ambulance resulting in injury and the employees till has his job. Even after being told this was NOT his first nor the 2nd incident qith the negligent driver. Another time they forgot patients on oxygen at dialysis returning to the facility with NO oxygen left. This company has dispatchers that are complete idiots especially Vanessa. Her answer to arrival is always 25 mins. One day she tells me 16 mins for the driver whichnthe driver was in Clolster NJ and my pick up is North Haledon NJ. That is 40 mins away. Last Saturday the dtiver was on time only problem was Marcus took the wrong patient and left me at the dialysis center. Then when I complained to him he stated he would unload me out of the van and leave me there, not very good customer service. On the most part other than Marcus and Jennifer ( never on time always in the phone or playing with her hair thedriversare good. You ask for a manager to call you never get a call back. Do not use this service if you need to get to a medical appointment! My 93-year-old mother had a doctor appointment to have a cast removed. Life Ride completely failed to show up - not even bothering to call or text. After I made many many phone calls to find out what was going on, they admitted that they often double and triple book appointments, which means they are often unable to show up on time. My mother missed her doctor's appointment to get her cast removed, and she now has to suffer for two more weeks, which is the next time she could get an appointment to remove the cast. Didn't pick up as contracted and we needed to transport individual home ourselves in a car. The driver was over 2 hours late, causing my mothers chemotherapy treatment to be delayed. When calling customer service, each time they said 15 minutes. They gave me the run around. Consistently late picking up my dad from dialysis, I don't mean 20 mins late either, more like an hour to 2 hours. My dad is at a rehabilitation center, this jacked up company is whom they've decided to use. The rehabilitation center has agreed to pick up my dad when we let them know Life Ride is late AGAIN. their motto, we always get you there on time, but they don't mention they'll leave you sitting for HOURS waiting to be picked up. I've to complain several times, they're always apologetic but the late pick ups do not change. I even called again yesterday to confirm they're running on time, she said absolutely, annnnnd they still showed up and hour late for pick up. read more

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I personally did not ever use this service, but I saw something that I thought others should know about "Life Ride" while driving today. I was driving on the Garden State Parkway South, when I switched lanes from the left to the middle (I was passing someone) and I looked behind me to a van tailgating me. I thought to myself, wow this person really has somewhere to be because I was already doing almost 75 mph to pass. When I finally switched lanes, the van zoomed passed me, accelerating to at least 90 mph. This was a time when I wished a State Trooper was hiding in the bushes somewhere. The van finally caught up to another car in the left lane and was tailgating them for the remainder of my drive down the parkway. I was appalled when I notice it was a "Life Ride" van. A company that prides themselves on medically transporting individuals with disabilities and wheelchair users. A company who's website states "The Safety of our Customers is our #1 Priority" and that there are Trained and Certified Drivers. I'm unsure if there was a customer in the vehicle with the driver, but I was disgusted by this persons driving. This is MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION, they should be driving more carefully. Just thought I would bring this to others attention before requesting to use this service. I wouldn't want any of my loved ones that are wheelchair bound being in the car with a driver that is driving 90 mph down the parkway. Oh and the van number was #24, and the incident took place this morning (3/12/2019) at approximately 8:30 a.m headed southbound on the GSP. The picture taken, I had to speed up to 85-90 mph to capture the van number and license plate. we were moving my mother from a memory care facility to a nursing home about a 25 mile ride we - booked life rude because my mother is a diabetic, is incontinent and has late stage dementia. The ride was due to come at 11 AM at 11:09 AM I called ti see where driver was - they told me they would be 25 more minutes. I had already moved my mother down to the lobby and she was waiting impatiently. Having the ride come 35 minutes late was not acceptable because my mother is a diabetic and needs insulin on a schedule and to eat. I called them back 10 minutes later and told them I was going to cancel the ride because I had to get my mother to the nursing home. They charged us the full amount of $236 and after spending over an hour on the phone only gave me a credit of $23. Do not use these people ! read more

I called them to find out where the ambulette was and they had no record of me booking the trip. I was asked for a confirmation number, which I have never received when I booked other trips. I hired this company for my sons wedding recently to transport 2 adult wheelchair bound relatives from hotel to wedding. The venue was 15 minutes from the hotel. I spoke to reps from life ride 4 times that morning to confirm address and pick up time. The scheduled pick up time was 4:15 for a 5:00 wedding and the trip was 15 minutes at most. The van did not arrive , multiple calls were made and they finally arrived at 5:30 and dropped off the passengers at 6:00. My two sisters missed my sons wedding. I have called every day since to speak with someone in charge regarding this and what compensation they will make for their breach of contract. Always promised a call, never received one. As we are a family of medical and legal professionals I will be proceeding with a lawsuit. They are unreliable at best. If you use them make sure everything is documented. I have multiple documentations, both paper trails and time stamped video. Since this service is hard to find they count on people overlooking these incidents. Life Ride has been a life saver for my family. I stumbled across their company while searching for medical transport to get my recently wheelchair-bound mother to/from my wedding. I called a number of other companies as well and Life Ride was by far the cheapest so we decided to give them a try and were very happy. Since the first trip back in October we have used them at least five more times (doctor's appts, holiday shopping, an early family Christmas dinner) and are still loving the service. The vans are all brand new, clean and ride well (we've used other transport through Medicaid and there is a very noticeable difference). The drivers we have had were all pleasant and very accommodating to my mother. I have and will continue to recommend Life Ride to other families in similar situations. read more
