Can you even imagine receiving the news that ¾ of your valuables, heirlooms, and memorabilia--including those of your recently deceased husband--are missing because the movers amazingly LOST an ENTIRE CRATE of boxes? It's heartbreaking and frustrating and financially devastating! I remain ready and willing to resolve this matter, but they have ignored my recent pleas for fair reimbursement. They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. I kept the magnet for this business on my fridge for 8 years. Many roommates called them. Every time someone moved, this team was wonderful. There was even one time when a roommate called them and lied to them about how much she had for her move. (I was very bothered as were roommates. She wasn't allowed to renew her contract there for a reason.) Still, the men showed up with a large truck and honored their original quote. To top things off, where she was moving to, she had several stair cases that she did not tell them about! I was very upset when I found out because this business and the men were so good to other roommates over the years. So, for that experience- to Stanley and the owners, I am sorry. That was not my fault, but I am still sorry. Your team does not deserve that, no one does. Above all, though, thank you. For the many times you helped me and many roommates, thank you. OMG! something wrong with that company!!! after my negative review this guy from Grand Merci Moving named Mark started to call me from different numbers, threatened me and tried to force me to delete my review!!!=) seriously!=) he sent me my own pics from my pages in social networks and texted me:"take your fake review down"! Could you people believe in this???=)))) pic from my phone with his angry text I attached here! well-i think that one more call or text from this person-and i'll have to go to the police...!
