For a $100, yes one HUNDRED dollar day pass, I cannot say I was impressed. My home Lifetime is light years ahead of this location. The machines have a lot of wear and tear, but the floor is extremely disorganized. There are platforms scattered wherever they will fit. Arm equipment next to leg equipment... it's a jungle to find a machine that matches what you're trying to work out. It took me longer to find the equipment I wanted to use than actual complete my workout.

Gel mani: Can't get everything done at the gym lol. I had a broken nail and my left thumb looks horrible with the gel x exten.

Wouldn't recommend the nail services in the Lifespa. The overall process and customer service was overall pretty rushed and rude. Not what I needed after a long day.

    Locker break in

Someone broke into my locker and stole my watch and 2 credit cards. The incompetent employee at the front desk didn't even care are was saying it's impossible to break into the lockers and even asking me if I'm sure I didn't leave my watch at home! I had him come into to locker room to show them that my locker was damaged and then they finally filled an incident form. They have zero empathy and concern and I had to go to the police station to file a report. I've noticed many times in the past where non members will sneak right by the front desk and go straight to the basketball court or locker room. Stay away from this trashy place and don't trust the lockers! I would even drive to the new Evanston location where it feels less sketchy.

If you're seeking exceptional training, I highly recommend Marika. I came in this morning experiencing sciatic nerve pain in my right leg, and after just one stretching session with her, the pain was completely gone. She is highly knowledgeable, skilled, and professional in her approach.

Was not willing to give a day pass

I didn't not have a good experience and the concierge was not nice. I was in town for just the weekend. And wanted to visit the river north location.

(Kari's Rating 7.5/10)…read more TLDR -Up-to-Date equipment -Work from home spaces -Convenient Healthy Market Came with a friend to hang out on a Wednesday around 5:30pm to see what East Bank Club is all about. After seeing all the crazy amenities which were super cool with a ton of variety, I think the thing that surprised me the most is how up-to-date all of the equipment was and the variety of activities they had for people to enjoy. If you're looking for an all encompassing workout/work space, this is it! They have everything from full-size tennis courts, to a golf simulator-like set up,except you get to hit into an inflatable pillow! They also had plenty of Pickleball courts, and they offer so many different workout group classes.both a wet and dry, sauna, and tons of treadmills and free weights. I was also really impressed that they also had a physical training area. So think something that was my personal favorite and the best thing for Chicago Summers is a beautiful rooftop pool and lounge area. Not only did they have two outdoor pools (one for adults and one for kids) but they also have an indoor pool as well for winter as well as an indoor hot tub! They also had a common area workspace where people can come to take meetings and do their work from home gigs. You could practically move in here haha! As of right now, it is a $750 new membership fee as well as $295 a month, which is a pretty hefty chunk of change if you ask me considering most of the high rises around, have some kind of rooftop pool and workout area. It is cheaper if you join with a domestic partner or if you're between the ages of 16 and 29-see pic for current pricing. They also sometimes host social events which is super fun to meet everyone else in the club, but at the same time I think it is more of an investment in your future and your future health if you can afford it! I will not be joining at the moment, but hey-that could change anytime if I decide I should be on a health kick.

Just here to update my previous review. Still a very very good gym in the city (or should I say…read moreclub) - with everything you really could want for an entire day..,.work out? Check. Lunch? Check, swimming, tennis, golf, childcare, the list goes on. You can even get your clothes cleaned and your car washed. One drawback is the price. It is very pricey (with rates going up in 2026).., I don't really want to think about how much more I'm paying since I joined. However, I've easily spent entire days here swimming and working and working out so I guess I can't complain too much. Their spa is also great though it can get busy and in the summer the pool is a total scene (and packed). New locker rooms are underway (men's done and women's getting close) with new features and upgraded lighting and fixtures. Worth it if you don't mind paying for the amenities (and be careful with the house charge account ... it can get surprising!)

You can find pretty much any equipment here -- punching bags, sleds, reformer machines, etc. There is a good mix of group fitness classes here included in the membership price. Equinox has a reputation for being fancy -- thus the high price of this gym. However, I don't think this *particular* location really warrants the high price. This location isn't as flashy and new as comparably-priced gyms (like the Lincoln Common Equinox or the Midtown Athletic Club). It also lacks the extensive amenities of a place like East Bank Club (which has tennis courts, kayaking, basketball, etc). A membership at this location will give you access to some of Equinox's newer, fancier facilities (like Lincoln Common) as well as some of its convenient locations for office workers (Loop branch). If you live in Old Town / southern Lincoln Park and want a gym that's close-by this is probably the best option in the neighborhood.

I left Chicago last year, joined Equinox in New York, and triumphantly returned to Chicago for a work trip, picking a hotel as close to this gym as possible. My take is that this location is a loss-leader used to placate business travelers who have multi-club access. It's a mediocre gym with a nice locker room. Great for blowing off steam after work in a largely uncrowded gym if your employer is subsidizing your wildly expensive gym fees. Mine is. Compared to East Bank Club, which costs $235 per month, the Loop Equinox is laughable, and I question whether the three Chicago Equinox locations combined actually stack up to EBC on any measure except sheer convenience or imagined exclusivity. I think what a lot of people miss, and certainly what I missed as I formed my first impressions of Equinox, is that the machines and basically everything else, except the quality of the locker room, is the exact same as any competent gym in a big city. In fact, you could make a compelling case that the overall variety is worse here compared to the downtown FFC locations. I found that the blueprint for the location I frequent in NYC was nearly identical to this location's--it's an ordinary equipment layout that can make it so that one other person wanting to rotate through the machines can impede your workout. If you are living in Chicago reading Yelp reviews as you assess Equinox ($???) vs EBC ($235) vs FFC ($160 all-access), I would put this gym toward the bottom of the list. It's just crazy how normal it is in reality compared to how people (including me) perceive the branding.
