Awesome from the inside as it is on the outside! For years I've driven by and saw how attractive the building was. This year is the year I finally committed to working out here. Excellent customer service. Spectacular amities. Bonus features when you become a member. Options for different workout clubs. Skilled trainers. Child care and camps. Lifetime Fitness has it all. I have been very pleased to experience most of what Lifetime offers and I like so many things about it already. Memberships starts at $99 a month and can be customized to what you need or want for your fitness goals. I appreciate the one on one training I've received already. The accountability and relationship development is money well spent. During COVID19 review: masks are not required for entry. Employees were all masked until recent Governor Mask Mandate was lifted earlier in May 2021. Excellent sanitation protocols. Social distance is good. (As good as it can get for a gym.) Everyone is very respectful of space and cleaning their work area/equipment. Busiest times of the gym are weekday mornings 5:00-8:00 am. Gets busy off and on during mid morning till late afternoon. Busy again after work hours. Less busiest time is 6:30pm - 11:00pm close on week days. Weekends are fantastic too as it's less busy. Overall I highly recommend Lifetime Fitness as a one stop shop gym.

Best facility and staff in the business. You won't find a more luxuries fitness club in Des Moines.

Went as a guest of another member to use the pool facilities last Sunday. I was impressed by the number of chairs they had around the pool deck. The staff working the outside concessions area was quite friendly. They have beers--mainly domestic low-calorie stuff. I saw Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Woodchuck Cider, and a couple others I don't recall. The chicken quesadilla I had was quite tasty for being something out of a snack bar. The quesadilla comes with a sour cream with chives blended in, as well as a salsa that was far too chunky for my liking. It would have been nice if the water fountains were working, considering how hot it was outside. Didn't use any of the fitness facilities, but everything outside looks like its kept up well. If I lived closer, I'd consider membership.

I was not used to this but did my best to keep up and learn the moves as we went along. The quick feet movement on the yoga mats gave me a blister on the bottom of my big toe, but I could feel the workout for a couple days after. You are greeted when you walk in, you check in and get a mat or towel if you forgot yours. You can kick your shoes off or make your way down the hall to the changing/shower/bathroom. After I was taught my sequence I simply showed up any time during studio hours, put my mat down and begin my practice. Teachers quietly walked around and gave assistance whenever needed. I progressed in my practice faster and steadier than any other type of yoga class I had previously attended. No need to worry about running late or missing a class time when there is a 4+ hour window of time to put your mat down. The Adamantine yoga sequence is accessible for the advanced yogi to the beginner. I have never felt healthier, stronger in my body, happier and more steady, sound in my mind. I moved to Iowa assuming my yoga options would be less but didn't realize that mainstream yoga really hasn't hit Des Moines yet, which is GREAT because it allowed Adamantine to be created!! My first yoga studio experience in DSM was at the most well known and sort of corporate place. It was fine. Nothing special. I wasn't impressed at all and was ready to drop my dream of continuing a regular yoga practice until I found Adamantine. Don't get me wrong here, I was a little skeptical of the idea of self-guided practice. I mean, what does that even entail? It's really incredible though. James Miller has crafted a practice that allows my generally hectic and stressful mornings to have a semblance of routine and has taught me more about yoga in 2 months than I learned in a year of traditional studio practice. He combines the principals of yoga and challenging postures into a sequence that literally works for EVERYONE. Whether you've done yoga in the past or are a self proclaimed yogi, his practice will strengthen your body, teach you to breath, and allow you see improvement daily. What could be better?! Give it a try. I bet you'll fall in love.
