At first, I adored Lifetime, and for the most part I still do, although there were a few frustrating situations. 1. The gymnasium is rarely ever open in the summer, due to children's camp and on top of that, adult gym pickup. I play volleyball competitively and it is very important I maintain my skills, and it is frustrating when we'd drive to Lifetime only to be told I can't practice, which by the way we pay over 300 dollars a month for in total. I either have to go practice on the PICKLEBALL courts, or I have to leave. This happens more often than not, and it is insanely annoying and frustrating. 2. Adding onto #1, I feel as though Lifetime has too many opportunities for its size. It isn't the largest gym, yet they have an insane amount of classes and not enough room. They also have their kids daycare or whatever it is, which often leads to me being unable to play, or even swim. I think that their academies and classes would be good if they expanded a bit (added another gym in particular). 3. We were told that we have to pay 15 dollars a month when our membership is paused. To me, this is obviously a money grab. My membership is paused so I shouldn't have to pay a thing. With all the income and money this gym makes, you'd think they'd be able to afford an expansion and maybe better customer support. In the winter, this is an amazing place to go, but in the summer you can barely use the place. read more

We are new to LTF and this was our first visit to White Bear Lake. I was favorably impressed, not by the facilities but the staff that work there. We must have looked like we didn't know where to go since a friendly staff (Jean was her name possibly) asked if she could help us. Thank you! This is a nice facility but as many other reviewers and gym members have commented, they have oversold on the memberships. On three occasions in the past two months I have driven through a packed parking lot looking for a place to park. Ultimately, I did not make it inside for a workout because it was too packed. The facility is nice. The monthly fee is pricey, but it really doesn't matter how nice or expensive the fitness facility is when you can't use it. I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

This club is way oversold. Classes are beyond full, sometimes I cant find a parking spot and just go home. Plus the fitness pool has been closed most of the summer and the rates just went up AGAIN! Debated and debated over joining another gym, but we signed on the dotted line and joined yet again. First off, I must say that the closing of the DT St. Paul club sucks because it was close, but the other locations are really nice so whatever. We'll get over it. My membership enrollment advisor, Katie is pretty good at what she does. I arrived earlier than expected for my appointment and she got me right in. Explained everything well, gave me a tour and was genuine and pleasant to deal with. She still calls to follow up and I appreciated her not pushing me into joining. Very good at what she does! The club itself is nice and reminds me more of a hotel or country club. The indoor pool was a big bonus as its a salt water pool and it's fairly warm. There are bunch of lounge chairs surrounding the pool and tables for families to bring the kiddies to splash around in the leisure part of the pool or the the little kiddy pool. -Spa Cafe -Gym -Pilates area -Plenty of elypticals, weights etc -Personal Trainers -Outdoor pool- not overly huge, but will be nice in the summer. -Wi-Fi -Lounge area -Tennis Courts- but extra -no track at this one, but many of the other ones have a track. The reason I won't give it a 5 is due to the bothersome attitude by some of staff at the spa. When calling to inquire about some pricing, I was met with attitude, heavy sighing and a promise to have someone call me back which didn't happen. So I opted for some place else. Not a great way to sell and promote services. Despite the spa which wasn't a huge reason for joining, this facility is pretty nice with the majority of the staff favorable, friendly and its clean! read more

Love everything about the gym. We pay $60 for kids and can have them there without parents 4 Saturdays a month. We do one, and it covers the cost of a babysitter. Having no grandparents to babysit, we've waited for this forever. We have gotten back on track with amazing classes early in the morning, and literally at any hour. The saunas, showers, pool, steam room are a luxury for us. We love the sea salt pool, its like taking an epsom salt bath. Makes it enjoyable to take the kids swimming and want to get and stay in. The kids staff is long term and takes care in their roles. We have had swimming lessons, kids care, pickleball lessons and more. For free. Also, I lost my keys and 6 mths later, I got a call from the library that Lifetime was trying to find owner. Above and beyond. Last, the cafeteria food is all I've dreamed off. A million healthy options so I can have a lunch or snack and stay healthy! Thank you for the great customer service. read more

I'm obsessed with this gym. Seriously. I joined quickly after buying a house in WBL, and let me tell you, this is the first gym that I'm actually excited to go to. Granted, I'm used to living in NYC and Seattle, where gyms are outrageously expensive and you don't get many "extras," but what Life Time offers still blows me away. Literally any class you could possibly want - spin (my personal favorite!), yoga, pilates, strength training, barre, and more - plus both indoor AND outdoor pools, tennis courts, and basketball courts. This place seriously has it ALL. And the cherry on top is how friendly the staff is, and how knowledgeable the trainers. I love this place! read more

Drove over to the club and they told us no one there could do it. Just another example of a business looking at profits first. Make it easy to sign up but difficult to get out. When I first moved out to Minnesota I wanted to find a gym. I went gym shopping one day and I really couldn't find one I liked. Life Time is on the way to my in-law's house (where we were living) and so I passed it every day. My husband told me that it was a great gym, but pricey. I knew that if I came in I would fall in love and not want another gym. After being disappointed in all the other gyms I found I finally decided to check it out. It was if the gym read my mind on what I was looking for. It was clean, big but not overwhelming, plenty of options on activities/classes, and it was close to home. Since joining I have been to several other LT gyms, but I still like this one the best. It doesn't have the biggest weight area or the most cardio machines, but everything is manageable. Plus the pool is saltwater which is super nice. It never gets too crazy busy either. I'm always able to do my entire routine without having to wait for a machine or skip something because it is being used. It is very easy to make appointments with my trainer and she has done a great job with my program. The classes here are also not overwhelmingly large and they actually go for their full time. I went to an hour long yoga class somewhere else and it was 45 minutes. The yoga class here sometimes went over and was always relaxing. Yes you pay more to go here than you would for a LA Fitness or 24 Hour, but you are paying for quality. It may not offer all the perks of the Target Center LT either, but you aren't dealing with the crowds. 88/100 read more

I believe that this is one of the dirtiest locker rooms. Unattended. White Film on the Shower Walls. Towels on the floors. Steam Room's Floor is dirty and needs to be moped up. The previous owner of this facility knew that a sizable percentage of people who workout at this club toil away in offices with little access to daylight. Because light from the sun is healthier than light from fluorescent tubes, an investment into a Solatube daylighting system resulted in the entire upper level of the facility being lit with natural light. Recently, Lifetime decided to do a re-roofing project. Unfortunately they chose a contractor that doesn't work with skylights. All 47 skylights were removed 10 short years after they were installed, plunging the entire building (including the already nearly windowless fitness space) into the same dingy fluorescent lighting I work under all day. Make no mistake about it, this is a HUGE downgrade. If Lifetime is truly the "Healthy Way of Life Company", then why would they remove a healthy feature of the facility? If they are going to remove such a significant feature from the facility, why charge the same price? It is tragic that an investment which was intended to last the lifespan of the building was removed by short-sighted, myopic thinking. It is dishonest to take away features without informing members but continue to charge the same rate. I loved Lifetime and how clean the gym is. But if you work in an office like I do, I'd advise checking out other options if you desire to shake off the winter time blues with a sunny workout! Indoor & outdoor pool, indoor & outdoor tennis, beautiful studios, pilates, and the typical cardio and resistant training equipment. Will never go there again. The membership manager, Becca, talks fast & tries to tie you into prolonging your membership. It's about sales & conning you into what she can sell you. She told me I had 14 days to decide when I really only had 7 days. I wanted to cancel my membership. If you've had the opportunity to visit a platinum or gold level location in any town, you will be quite disappointed when you walk into this Onyx level gym. Priced as a premium product, this gym delivers a sub-par return in terms of floor space, aged / inferior equipment, terrible lighting, the smallest shower stalls I've experienced at any club and no access from a locker room to the pool area. Yes, this location has special amenities that other locations don't offer, but I'd prefer an extra 1,000 feet of workout space and equipment that worked over lotion in the locker room or beer on tap at the cafe. I sincerely hope that this location improves itself in the very near future. After being a member of a platinum club and "upgrading" to this location (while swallowing another $60 onto my monthly membership,) this has truly been a disappointment for me. read more

I am a member of LTF and use a few different facilities. This one offers a lot of services (and that is why it is so expensive) but the attitude of the desk staff is a mixed bag. I went in recently and was surprised at the snobby attitude. This particular person would not be someone I'd like to face if I had a real problem.
