I finally found a chiropractor who I can work with! I have stage four cancer, have had both hips replaced, and I'm having some painful back issues. Dr. Penniston is very, very gentle and is very supportive. He listens well, has good ideas for general support, and wants to support the whole client. And he is realistic in his recommendations and expectations. After just a few visits my back is much better! He's also working on a frozen shoulder. I have exercises for home, a very comfortable back brace, and am making real progress. Have been going to Dr Penniston for years. Fixed granddaughter's colic. Fixed my friends migraines almost 100%. My daughter pushed her knee backwards. He told her he might not be able to help, but after all these years, she told him he would fix it. (She didn't want surgery or the $7,000 deductible). It took a while, but the knee is now as good as new. I almost always go to him before my doctor. At 75, he's kept me, my family and a lot of my friends in tip top shape. I have to say I was skeptical. I am aware of, and know what Kinesiology does...but Chiropractic with Kinesiology? I had to find this out. As a former athlete, getting adjusted was necessary, I was constantly pulling out ribs, my SI joints twist, its just a lovely pain (thats sarcasm). Im used to "bone crackers", lots of brute force! Pop those puppies in there kinda routine. This is totally different, Totally. Different. Muscle testing telling Dr P what is actually going on with my body. No extremely forceful cracking. It doesn't feel like things are moving, cause theres no crack...but they are aligning and moving. Its fascinating how this works. I rarely hear an audible crack in my lower and mid back. Just the typical neck cracks.. but I get up, and theres an immediate difference. Then he tests you for suppliments similar to how a Homepathic Dr does - he knows 100 suppliments off the top of his head aswell. I am impressed. Like seriously impressed. Greg's a great guy and a great DC. He doesn't do alot of the wrenching and twisting, but he's effective and he's active in quite a few sports, so he knows that telling you to stop playing and having fun is not an option. I have been seeing Dr. Penniston for about 6 months. His style of Chiropractic is quite advanced - he focuses on dealing with the root of the issue, not just wrenching you into place. He is very tuned into applied kinesiology, nutrition and cranial sacral therapy. He is also very knowledgeable regarding supplements. Greg is very good at manipulation. He is not like the cracker packers that I have gone to before. Very gentle in adjustments. He believes in muscle testing and even though it seems weird it works and so do the supplements. I have been going to Lifeline for many years and have recommended Greg to several of my friends. He is the only Chiropractor that I have not had to visit on a regular basis, which to me means that he is doing a great job. I go for a tune up about every other month. I went to this chiropractor (Gregory Penniston on 22nd street) because I had an acute problem and my regular guy was on vacation. He is full of chatty double talk and a lot of really corny superstitious , unscientific blather. My problem was not helped, but he fast talked me into buying a bunch of pills that he happens to keep on hand ( large inventory - he must make a lot of $$$ on this stuff) . He is just a snake oil salesman. 3 months later, I got a BIG bill. I am a well-educated, medically savvy, scientifically astute individual. I think he must prefer less informed, uh, "patients". Even so, he got one over on me. What does a duck say? Q***K. Find somebody else who will treat you with more honesty. Naturally, this is just my opinion, but that's what you were reading to find out, right? read more
