The following listed events occurred during the initial contract with Fort Bend Backyards and the owner. * We paid $1,860.00 down payment for the horrible unprofessional, unproductive, unfinished Landscape services! We are currently due a refund of $1,000.00 for work that was never started or completed. * Based on the invoice only debris removal, site preparation and some landscaping Bullrock ground preparation have been delivered and placed in the yard. * On Wednesday February 22, 2023, they showed up at 2pm without any notification. * Everyday there was always a total lack of communications to explain where the job team was and when and what services would be completed! * They left landscaping tools and supplies laying in the yard and unsecured. They have still not been picked-up the tools. * They showed up on Thursday February 23, 2023, to work after 10am without any type of notification. * Then on Thursday 23,2023,they left our job site at 4pm to respond to previous customers completed project. The explanation provided was their previous client was requesting additional services be completed! * They left a worker at the job site for 3 hours without any job duties, landscaping supplies or any instructions for working on the job. The worker sat in our lawn chair without conducting any job duties for 3 hours while on his phone, then the worker left the job site at 4pm. * The landscaping supplies for our job were not ordered and delivered to the company prior to starting the job on Wednesday February 22, 2023. * There were other job duties, irrigation repairs, grass sod and plenty of debris removal and site preparations that could have been conducted during the day even thought other supplies had not arrived to complete any progress on the job. * I have pictures of the uncompleted work in our back yard. * On Friday February 24, 2023, We were told the anticipated time of arrive for starting the job was delayed until 2pm based on supplies needed to make any progress on the job. As of 5:00pm we had not seen the company or received any form of customer communications. We texted and called the owner Mr. Crenshaw to obtain job status information. * Again, on Saturday February 25,2023 and Monday February 27, 2023, we attempted to contact the company and owner Mr. Crenshaw. * We have never received any type of response. The company again was a NO CALL NO SHOW to complete any work! * The company did not show up or communicate in any form with us! We are excited to watch it all grow as the fig ivy covers our fence to create a screen of green and the carpet of Asian Jasmine fills in where before there was patchy grass and bald dirt. Miguel really listened and worked with us to do a major overhaul, putting up a back fence, installing sprinklers, improving drainage and even creating the perfect nook for our son's trampoline and finding a perfect little key lime tree for the back raised garden section. They installed a lovely drip type system in our raised bed as well. As the project took shape, Miguel was flexible and responsive and never made me feel we were asking too much or that he was eager to move on to his next project. I worked for this company and I can tell you firsthand that it is a very shady practice and their…read moremethods of acquiring clients are very, VERY predatory. The company downloads thousands on thousands of phone numbers from an online database and sends unsolicited calls to anybody they can early as 8 AM (even calling businesses and renters on holidays) in order to rope in clients by offering a special free estimate (which is standard practice). If you do choose to accept the free estimate, they will try to overcharge and upsell you on any sort of home remodeling projects you're considering due to the small size of the company. From a worker's point of view, the company will hide information on the jobs you confirm and will threaten your job security once a week if you do not get 2 potential jobs per day. This unfortunately leads to the harassment of many Houston citizens through desperate callbacks for months on end and even giving misleading information about the company's status with the Better Business Bureau. There are cockroaches and bugs living throughout their showroom and the owner, contractors, and most of upper management do not speak English as well. All in all, this company is very unorganized yet uncomfortably persistent when it comes to finding clients and will often overcharge clients who are in desperate need remodeling and do not have time or resources to find a second opinion. If you do come in contact with them or happen to receive an unsolicited call, I strongly suggest finding another contractor to save you from a headache/wasting your time. I would even make sure to block the number because they will not stop calling if you don't.

I selected Steve's company for a concrete project despite receiving lower bids from other…read morecontractors because he presented himself as a professional and assured me, both verbally and in writing, that the work would be completed properly. Before work began, I specifically discussed the importance of properly preparing the subgrade and using a mechanical plate compactor before pouring the concrete. In my observation, no plate compactor was ever used on the project. Instead, ground preparation appeared to consist primarily of manual tamping in selected areas. Based on what I observed and the resulting condition of the slab, I do not believe the site preparation met professional standards. The concrete was poured on a hot, sunny day, and initially the finished product appeared satisfactory. Steve instructed me to begin watering the concrete the following day to assist with curing. The next morning, I discovered extensive cracking throughout the slab. This was not limited to one or two isolated cracks. Instead, there was a widespread network of cracks covering nearly the entire surface. I immediately notified Steve, provided photographs, and requested that the issue be addressed. When he later inspected the slab, he attributed the problem to the concrete supplied by the ready-mix company. However, during our discussions, he also mentioned that another recent project had experienced similar issues. That statement raised concerns for me regarding whether the problem was solely related to the concrete supplier. Over the following weeks, there were numerous discussions about having the concrete company evaluate the situation. Despite those conversations, no meaningful resolution was ever provided. More than two months have now passed, and I have received neither a repair proposal nor an offer to correct the work. This delay has prevented me from moving forward with the next phase of my project and has resulted in additional costs and inconvenience. To make matters worse, this project cost over $13,000--significantly more than several competing bids I received. I even provided an additional $500 tip because I believed I was hiring a contractor who stood behind his work and would deliver a premium result. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to thoroughly document all discussions, verify that proper site preparation methods and equipment are actually being used, and ensure that any concerns are addressed before final payment is released. I hired this company expecting professional workmanship, accountability, and follow-through. Instead, I was left with a cracked slab, unresolved issues, project delays, and the prospect of hiring another contractor to correct the work.
