This review is for Hair Stylist: Atorena at the LifeSpa-Old Orchard hair salon. This was my first visit here with Atorena and she was very good at her job as a colorist/stylist! She carefully used the skin protecting balm around my hairline to protect my skin from staining. She also evaluated my previous single process color done at LifeSpa-Northbrook and we chatted on my likes/dislikes. Unfortunately the previous stylist at LifeSpa-Northbrook do not enter colors in the computer system and when I asked the Manager at LifeSpa Northbrook, her idiotic response was: " ...it's like you asking for the formula of a Tiffany perfume!"---Really??!! EXCEPT that formula is ON MY HEAD!! Atorena was very reassuring and explained that a good colorist can evaluate hair and match color very well or even gradually change it if one feels it needs to. She carefully mixed, saturated my naturally curly hair with color and used a plastic cap to cover the hair. The results were terrific. My grey coverage was even and precise without stains on my face/neck/skin like previous at Northbrook LifeSpa salon. Her rinsing off the color and shampoo/conditioning process was very good to ensure no residual color remains on my scalp!---Lifetime Northbrook salon shampooing is a hit or miss making it impossible to enjoy a blowout without an itchy, color ridden scalp! She also said she will enter color in the computer system. Her blow dry was beautiful. She is very masterful with the Round Brush Technique after I showed a photo of how I like volume and bounce at ends. During her blow-dry, she did not pull my hair and it seemed effortless. She used products for a frizz-free finish and shine. I received so many complements! Both in and out of the LifeSpa Old Orchard Salon... Thank you Atorena! read more

I have only been to a Lifetime fitness location a few times in my life. But this location at Old Orchard tops the cake! I cannot believe how great ALL of the staff were to my staff at Jacobson & Tsou Orthodontics from the Chicago office last weekend. Our bosses treated us to a spa day. In which Lifetime offered us the day to use as a membership pass. We not only had an excellent spa treatment, but we also were able to use their basketball courts, workout area, sauna, pool, etc. We were even given complimentary treats after our Spa treatment. The manager from the Spa, Tayag Nikko, was very polite and accommodating for our needs. He went above and beyond what I expected as a non member for this health club. I truly appreciate every staff member at this location and would like to return someday as a member with my staff, family and friends. Service here is absolutely awful. Overpriced treatments performed by extremly rude women using outdated methods. Don't waste your time or your money! This may honestly be the worst spa I've ever been to. So disappointing as the rest of lifetime is great so this sub par spa is totally out of place within the facility - management should consider dedicating this space to better heath and fitness options. read more

Always the BEST Pedicures and manicures. I always go to Elsia because she is patient, attentive, and understands what I want even if it's hard to explain. I love how she takes her time and will always ask if something is okay before moving on to the next step. I have some health issues that some places will not be accommodating to and LifeSpa is always accommodating. read more

She is like my second mother, and seriously the sweetest person I've ever met. I get my eyebrow design, eyebrown tint, and eyelash tint from her. She is so fast when it comes to a Brazilian wax. She makes sure everything is neat & tidy. I've taken couple of my gf's to her for bikini/brazilian, and they were pleased with the result. As for updo's, colors, and blowdries..SIMA and RANIA. Mani Pedis: Jamie Massage: Anton Hair: Amanda My nails are super teeny tiny but Jamie makes them look awesome! I always do french tipped (both regular and no chip) and her steady hands make a perfectly straight line every time. I'm a big baby when it comes to getting a massage because I either get tickeled or hurt by too much pressure. Anton is awesome. Amanda is very good about assessing what type of hairstyle will be good for you based not only on the texture and type of hair they have but also, how much time you truly put into your hair back to the way it looked when you left the salon. read more

So then they tried to explain that I would need to purchase a gift card, but I have to go buy it in person. Amanda is an awesome stylist! You NEED to book her for your next haircut! After a quick look at my overgrown mane, a conversation with my stylist Christine from http://tristinstyling.com/, and a few questions about my morning routine, she was able to come up with a great new look for me. Amanda did it all from the shampoo / scalp massage to the super-cute haircut. She even threw in a mini-blow drying lesson, once she realized how desperately I needed it.. I have been getting a ton of compliments on my hair - even when I don't use my new hair drying skills! Lulu aka Sarah does wonders with eyebrows too! I was extremely wary of anyone touching my eyebrows after a botched threading job that made me look surprised for months. Sarah (called Lulu because there are so many Sarah's at this spa) waxed and trimmed my eyebrows just enough to clean them up without sending me to the nearest cosmetics counter for an eyebrow pencil. The BEST part about this spa is the FREE 2 hours of child care, even if you aren't a Lifetime Fitness member! I put both of my kids in the Wednesday rock climbing class and they loved it! I went in and asked who was the best at color. I was referred to Darlene and it was not great. My hair pulls warm and I warned her of that because I hate warm/brassy. I went in for a partial and a cut. It took 3.5 hours! I couldn't believe how long it took. And after all that, my hair turned really warm the next day and my cut is totally uneven.
