I would strongly caution anyone against choosing IU Bedford Hospital for medical care. My mother…read morewas sent here for what should have been a common medical procedure, and she just about didn't make it out alive. I won't go into details because this isn't the place for it, but I will say this: if you are in need of hospital care, do not go to this hospital. The level of care, attention, and safety we experienced was unacceptable and deeply concerning. A hospital should be a place where you can trust your loved ones will be cared for responsibly, and that trust was completely broken here. I hope others think twice before putting their health in the hands of this facility.

Made them transfer me to Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus Indiana. I let them do the Cardioversion to my heart. was released from Columbus on the 19th of December 2023. Wednesday December 20th 2023 1:30 p.m. The Cough hit me like a ton of bricks, went to the IU Hospital in Bedford, again to the ER they ran test on me from 7:40 p.m. till 11:30 p.m.. I was released 15 minute before midnight the 21st. they gave me no medicine of any kind, or prescription for the cough. Basically stuck a band aid on me and sent me on my way. I had no ride home, was told they don't offer rides home. they asked me, why did I come in here if I didn't have a way home? I said I'm sorry I'll call ahead next time, to schedule when I can get sick. I called a med cab that never showed up. told them I had no way home. They said to me there's nothing we can do, we don't offer rides. So from 3:05 a.m. till 6:00 a.m. I walked for 3 hours in the freezing cold 32° outside breathing cold air with a bad cough. For the following 3 days, I coughed up bright thick green Mucus. 2:15 a.m. Christmas morning, could not breathe for about a half an hour. called an ambulance, went back to the ER. Where they ran tests again and only gave me steroids stuck a Band-Aid on me again and sent me on my way again. Thursday December 28th called an ambulance, to be taken to the ER again. Got there at 9:00 a.m. admitted me at 7Pm. told me my Potassium was dangerously low. Told them, I had had barely anything to eat for 3 Days. couldn't get it to my stomach, where it would stay, just lcouldn't get it to my stomach. They did not listen, told them about 20 times, I had had nothing and was starving. Gave me a little Turkey sandwich. a crumb, compared to what I needed. the so-called nurse, whose name will be mentioned, is Melissa would not listen to me at all about anything I was feeling. 4:30 a.m. on December 29th 2023 I started sweating gallons my blood sugar had dropped to 84 and I literally had to beg them for something to eat, they were wondering what was happening. I was telling them what was happening, but they absolutely would not listen. finally the so-called woman doctor listened to me brought me a sandwich chips fruit and a pop, half an hour later I was totally fine. over the course of the next 24 hours the so-called nurse Melissa absolutely would not listen to me about anything. she absolutely would not tell me, what was going on with my health, and what all the medicine I was taking was for. 4:30 a.m. Saturday the 30th I had enough of her, I was starving and felt like I was getting sick again, they still absolutely would not listen to me. I told her she was a narcissist and to leave me alone I spoke to the Head Nurse and told her that I needed food immediately. she then brought me a sandwich I told her I did not want Melissa back in the room with me. was released December 30th 10:45 a.m. was not given any medicine, was not told where any medicines were sent, so here I sit at 10:08 a.m. New Year's Eve 2023. After a night of coughing so hard till I vomit. with no clue of what I should do. So if the so called hospital administer is reading this. All I will see in response is. we're sorry you had a bad experience. which is probably an automated response. In conclusion: No other Hospitals near by at all. With no car. No choice, but to go this so called hospital. I use the word "Hospital." Very loosely. if you value your health and Life. Avoid Any IU so called hospital. if you want to live UPDATE: I did hear from one of the hospital Administrators. She listened to me about everything, I just wrote in this review. Said she would look into it. After about 5 weeks, I received a letter from her, saying there was an Investigation and they Concluded that I received the best care possible. And they consider this matter Closed. Typical response I was expecting from an IU Hospital
