We brought a spec home from them three years ago. We like the house but the owner was unresponsive when dealing with an issue.

Today is my last day here, and I'm sitting in the "lap of luxury" as we speak. I just want any hardworking person to carefully consider this two-week account, before signing a lease. My home flooded over a month ago, and after moving already a handful of times to find the right fit, when my insurance told me they found a "corporate apartment", I gladly accepted without seeing this place in person. I pulled it up on the internet, and was more than excited; my family thought we'd finally have somewhere comfortable to rest our heads while this stressful situation is resolved. But just like a scene in a horror film, the sunny skies cleared, and literal darkness engulfed us as soon as we opened the door to the tiny one-bedroom apartment. We walked through the breezeway and were pleasantly greeted by the smell of raw meat that had been simmering in the summer sun for 2 weeks. The aroma was matched by debris and stains on the concrete, and spiderwebs overhead. Once we entered the apartment: Flies were everywhere- trash flies, fungus flies, you name it. They're in the closets and even in the refrigerator. Bugs! Every day there were at least 5 different types to kill, and that's not including the barrage of flies. We complained about it. The maintenance guy came, turned the lights off to see if any light would bleed through the doors, and once he didn't see any, he said he'd let the office know, but it's probably "because you're so close to the woods". One...people live in wooded areas without bug infestations. Two, after he left, my insurance company reported to me that ant traps were placed, any cracks were sealed, and the apartment was sprayed while maintenance was here. Never happened. And even if it did, I never complained about ants, never saw any. What I did see, was a huge cockroach, spiders of many species, including a pregnant one. When I smashed it, about 40 more spiders scurried out. The unit is in the southernmost area of the complex, so we're right next to the tree line. On a cloudless, sunny day you would think that it was storming outside because there's absolutely no natural light that makes it through the trees. The toilet isn't even connected to the floor completely. It tilts. And as far as luxury goes...that's hilarious. Since my home flooded, I think I've developed a skill for knowing what water damage looks like, and you can tell that this place has taken a hit. The ceiling tells it all. The walls are textured; and in some areas where they repainted, in an attempt to match the texture, it looks like they took some gravel and mixed it with paint, which ultimately ended up looking like an outbreak of painted smallpox. Then there are other areas where it looks like they striped areas of paint and neglected to patch and sand, so it looks terrible. The "wood plank" floor is really linoleum sheeting that's peeling. It looks like they replaced the tub in the bathroom, but instead of hiring a professional to install it, they got a toddler to apply the caulk while blindfolded. I think the greed of a company really shows when you see how cheap they are when constructing a parking lot. If you care about the condition of your car, expect your anxiety to sky rocket. I have a 2 seater coupe and still could not fully open my car door without hitting someone else. But since the microscopic parking spaces weren't enough, they added a pinch of salt by not supplying enough parking spots. I could go on and on and on, but I'm just glad to be getting out of here. Pictures to come.

We brought some plans we liked online and brought them to Kevin (owner), essentially same way we did before. Kevin said no problem I'll send to my architect. This is when it gets to why I'm giving them one star. The first time we built with Kevin he did everything himself design wise and didn't charge a dime. Foolish us we thought it was the exact same process. Kevin did not once mention that the architect he was giving our plans to was $5000. We were a little upset then but figured $5k in a loan was not a huge deal. When formulating our budget we told Kevin several times our max budget which INCLUDED our lot cost. Once again same as last time and something I have no idea how he missed. When finalizing our budget we were way over our max because Kevin "didn't realize" we wanted everything included. I had a text showing him that it was indeed talked about and after that he said "we ll work it out". We had to get a second plan and ended up not building with Kevin. Long story short Kevin was not willing to work with us on paying some of the fees owed on the first plan even though it was entirely his fault. Just wish he did the right thing.

The whole project went smoothly and we love how it turned out! I worked closely with Faro on selecting our countertop material, and decided how to handle to renovation, and he was there to answer any and all questions that I had. They handled everything from tear down of the two tier peninsula to the countertop installation. They made it super easy to limit contact during the pandemic and handled as much of the planning as they could remotely. Everything was taken care of within a matter of weeks and it would have been even faster if not for me having to unexpectedly postpone the installation. I can honestly say that this was the most reliable and customer oriented business that I've ever worked with. We love our new counters and if we have any future upgrades to make, we will definitely be working with them again. It was clear from the start that they care about their clients, and that made all the difference.

I wanted a farmhouse sink to be part of our new counters project, so Faro took extra time and energy figuring out a size/depth sink that would work with our cabinet set up (who knew farmhouse sinks were such a complicated trend?!) Faro then took the time to talk me through picking out our stone choice- answering my questions, large and small without hesitation. He was attentive, quick to reply and knowledgeable. Come installation day, they were prompt and professional and worked quickly! I was surprised it only took a few hours. They cleaned up after themselves, and didn't leave a speck of debris- and our counters are absolutely stunning. Truly, I'm so glad we chose to support this family business rather than a large home improvement store. Faro was knee deep in the process from start to finish, they cared about their work and their customers- Genuinely we are so happy :) Thanks to Faro and Edwin!
