Over the first three days, about two hours of each day was going over the schedule and trying to figure out conflicts. On the third or fourth day a classmate voiced frustration with the late start times and our substitute teacher, the CEO of the school, ripped into her very rudely about doing her part and studying - not the topic we were on at all and the delivery was extremely rude and unprofessional. Our regular teacher returned, I have to say this was the least engaging class I've ever sat through. The instructor read us the PowerPoint verbatim, including saying "continued" out-loud when reading onto a new slide. One day was canceled the morning of without explanation, and we never even covered the last two chapters of the book together; we were instructed to just read that part out of the book for the final exam. Quizzes for this online course are scanned and emailed, with pages missing, and the students have to figure out how to get this PDF either printed or saved to edit, and sent back as an attachment or scan it back. Who has a printer/scanner at home? If you're going to make an online course, make it online. The school did not submit my background check in time, so the facility where clinical hours were to be held could not legally allow me to get my clinical hours there. The school was zero help with this communication. After my background check finally got approved, they would not work with me to get my required hours to take the state test. I was offered one make-up day but with less than 2 days notice. Poor organization, poor communication, poor online classroom setup.

The schedule was changed after payment of the course, which added on a Friday class which most of the students weren't able to do. We were required last minute to change our schedules to be there as it was mandatory. Clinicals were in Federal Way because Blossom students were no longer welcome at the Lakewood and Tacoma long term card facilities. We were not notified what day our CPR class would be held until it was that day and lunch time comes and the instructor said we would be staying 4 hours after class ended to get it done. Since there was no warning, dinner wasn't packed, childcare wasn't handled - it was very unorganized and rude. The owner said that the state testing would be held at our facility (Lakewood location) so my classmates and I put down a deposit to secure our spots and then the location changed. This required myself and others to come an additional weekend to familiarize ourselves with the Kent location in order to be more successful during our test. This business just needs to work out its kinks and be respectful of the students. We respected the Blossom building, materials and instructors' time, why wasn't ours kept in mind when all these changes were made?

The breakout rooms were nice and perfect for larger groups. We had a pretty small group and were able to get at lot of individualized attention and help. Several students shared experiences and asked questions and our instructor, a paramedic, was great about going through the scenarios and making them learning experiences for all of us. He also shared some really interesting stories and how he handled them. The mega codes went well and we all worked as a team to get through them. The exam only took 30-40 minutes and was around 50 questions. Overall it was a great class and I was happy I chose this later time slot to get my renewal out of the way.

The "practice" actually turned out to be the test portion, which everyone passed, again, without really learning or doing much of anything. During written open-book testing it was noisy chaos, with people lining up to do CPR recert after, and chatting away.
