The service center is always great. Gene gets me in and out relatively quick. He explains everything very well. The receptionist I book with is also very kind and helpful. The two of them together make every experience of mine good. To the salesmen, Please do not smoke on the front patio. I couldn't imagine sitting at the desk of a person who reeks of cigarette smoke to buy a vehicle. I went to Kia of Murphy today to purchase a vehicle I wanted to get a new one but they didn't have one in stock they did however have a certified pre owned one that we really liked priced in the windshield for 29995.00 I always ask if that's the best price and the salesman said he would have to ask the manager and when he came back out the best price was 32995.00 !!! " THIS IS HOW A REAL DEALERSHIP WORKS " Told by Steve S AFTER all information was given he would have to see the car before he could tell me anything. I just wanted LIFETIME Kia to give me a ballpark offer to see if stopping there was an option. Called to tell Steve S. I was on my way. He was in his office with hands behind his head, doing nothing. Felt a little like I was intruding as I stepped in to greet him. Car was in front of their showroom doors. Told him fob is on floor so he could look and drive it. Walk to car and watch them pop the trunk, looks then closed it. After going back inside he comes back with their best offer. You know the scam lol. Three BEST offers later the deal is done! Run Forest! It's so sad how these people treat customers. Their first move is to ask where you want your payment. Then they try to get you to go on a test drive while they work on it hoping you'll fall in love. When you say "not yet" they go get the car and try to get you to go outside hoping you will relent and drive it and are visibly upset when that doesn't work. Then they come back all smiles with a payment that is almost 30% above your limit hoping you'll accept their sob story and sign without even showing you the numbers. When they are forced to scribble down their math you see a ridiculously low trade value crossed out with a nearly as ridiculous trade value above it. He says they are stretching to try to make it work. Their price for the car is higher than any of their competitors. The interest rate is also too high. I asked them to lower the car price to match Carfax and KBB fair retail for this area and raise my trade only $500 to match KBB Trade-in value. I also asked them to look for a better interest rate. The salesman told the sales manager loud enough for me to hear and belligerently "now he wants you to lower the price and raise his trade". They also warned me that I might lose the interest rate we had if we shop it around. Ha. They came back with a good interest rate and $1000 more for my trade but now the car's price went up $1500. They were ecstatic that they got closer to my payment goal. Customers know when the car price is inflated to make the trade amount look better. I said thank you to the sales manager. As I left the salesman caught me at my car to let me know I was passing up an early Christmas gift. Really? I drove to Carriage Kia in Woodstock , Ga and found out what car buying should be like.
