I said again we are a condominium community and wanted to see if they could quote work for us that included replacing a light fixture on the exterior of a Unit.  I explained the fixture is approximately 18 to 20 feet from the ground, mounted on the balcony roof overhang.  So here I gave him all these details but he starts asking me why isn't the homeowner calling.  So I repeated myself saying we are a condo community and the Association is responsible for this and AGAIN told him the light fixture is approximately 18 to 20 feet from the ground thus would need a ladder.  He then tells me before he can quote the job he will need for me to take a picture from my cell phone and send it to him so he can determine whether the job can be done with a 6 foot ladder or if it needs something higher. Obviously this guy is tone deaf.  But then it gets worse,  I said I usually do send emails with pictures, but his website doesn't have an email, and before I could tell him my cell phone plan doesn't include data so I can't send a picture via a text, he rudely interrupts me and begins speaking in a slow condescending manner saying again I need to take a picture with my cell phone so he can determine what the job entails.  That's when I said I can't do that and don't like your attitude, so forget it! I tell my neighbor who used their service only to learn she got the same treatment from this guy along with his worker who came out to do her job. I am female but have enough knowledge in home repairs to carry on an intelligent conversation with a contractor. Maybe this guy doesn't like talking to women.

They were patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable as they addressed my minor fix, and after a bit of talking about an existing frustration with my electric system, they made a few suggestions that were much simpler than anything I'd been offered by previous electricians and contractors. What's more, the quoted cost to implement those suggestions was less than half of what I had been quoted for similar work in the previous several months. I was able to schedule the appointment at my convenience, even though it ultimately resulted in their technicians being on-site until almost midnight on a weeknight. After some cursing, crawling around the (disgusting) crawl space, and a little 'woe is me', we called BAM Mechanical. Now, you can imagine that we aren't the only ones with frozen pipes right now (it's 26°f today, and down to around 3° last night) , so I expected a wait before they could come out to help. Nope! They came right out. The experience was exactly what I wanted: courteous, professional, straightforward, honest, and informative. Our problem was resolved with just a little work, so fortunately we didn't need some major repair. However, I feel very confident that the guys from BAM Mechanical would have excelled there too. They installed/replaced an outside flood light which was professionally done and required a bucky truck to reach the light. I was delighted with their work, and it was a reasonable price for their service. I requested their assistance again in November 2022 to install/replace an outside flood light in the back of our home. The job only required a ladder and was reasonably priced. However, I wanted more professional service and shared my concerns. They replaced the light fixture I provided with a box that allowed exposed wiring. I was unhappy with the job and consulted other professionals who felt the job primarily would not meet local code. A wire was exposed going into the box. I asked if they could put all wires in the box, which I thought would have been done the first time. The cost of doing it correctly would be $565.00, which I felt was unreasonable, but I signed the contract, not knowing they had the attention to charge me the $335.00 for the first visit. The total cost would be $565.00. However, shortly after paying $565.00, I received another payment notice afterward of $335.00. The total costs to replace an outside flood light I provided and existing wiring that took less than an hour cost $900.00. I share this with you all, so this does not happen to you. The first service was at least a month and a half before the second service to correct the problem. There is no way I would have requested their service if I had received the first service bill. The service was going to be $565.00 in total. I have attached some pictures of the two jobs. Needs to say, I am looking for excellent and honest electric company services.
