I would give the potato pancakes 3 &1/2 stars We had battered and the breaded fish fry. We each had a piece that was totally dried out. 3 assorted sizes of fish, varied temperatures. Almost seemed like reheated fish. Strange tasting coleslaw. Mashed potatoes were cold. Seating iis in a back hall or in the bar area. The good is great, especially the wings! I also had a grilled chicken wrap which was delicious. Pizza is thin crust, not overbearing on the sauce and ingredients are fresh. A couple people in our group had a salad and raved about how fresh they were. Service is top notch. Amber and John hustle drinks and food to customers with ease and humor! As you enter this Pub you are greeted by staff and patrons in a very fun, friendly, and welcoming fashion! The atmosphere is as you walk in, always fun, friendly and very welcoming!! The staff are helpful in offering ideas on their menu of which everyone I've heard talk about such delicious Pub food. And that it is. I've been here several times and nothing bad. After reading reviews of this place I decided to give it a shot I happen to be in the neighborhood and was in the mood for a fish fry I ordered the basic fish fry beer batter which was the Icelandic cod The meal was good and the business was clean the waitress I had was very friendly and very attentive of what I needed. I thought the price was fair for the mail I ordered my friend who accompanied me had a cheeseburger and fries and she is well said that the meal was delicious. I would definitely come here again for a fish fry the only reason I would say I gave it 4 stars was that the dining area was a little dated and small. Also they serve the food on Trays which is no big deal the trays were large enough but they lined the trays with a very thin wax paper which I found myself cutting through easily when trying to cut my fish with a fork. read more

What a difference a week makes in fish fry experience for us. Based on a friend's recommendation we opted to try what appears to be a casual corner bar from the outside. Upon arrival pretty much right on as we were met with pool players, ramp to bar area and a small dining space. More dining off beyond pool tables. Due to our early arrival before 4 the bartender Cassie was handling the bar and few tables where we seated ourselves. 3 PM happy hour end of 1st shift celebrations had begun. Cassie quickly came to take our drink order and apologize profusely for not getting there sooner. Our drinks arrived promptly with a chip for the second drink as a reminder We chose baked cod and breaded cod with a onion straw appetizer and cup of clam chowder. Onion straws arrived promptly with a zesty dipping sauce. My fellow diner claimed the clam chowder as full of potatoes and clams, tasty and delicious. Next up dinners baked fish was seasoned as were the real mashed potatoes and savory with every bite. Side of coleslaw, draw butter and tartar sauce with 1/2 slice of rye with butter. Amazingly creamy and flavorful real mashed potatoes were incredibly tasty. Baked fish was very flavorful and delicately forked apart. My fellow diner declared the breaded cod was flavorful and reminiscent of the type we found years ago at Serb Hall. Bonus was my tall Southern Comfort sweet girl only $5.50 I would enjoy trying other meals as definitely a chef who is proud to work hard in quality food with flavorful tastes that has you wanting more. read more

I ordered this through grabhub and I ordered taco salad and burger with fries I was so disappointed with the food!!! First of all it was cold which it was delivered so maybe got it late but the salad on the taco salad was wilty and gross I paid a dollar extra to get Chicken on the taco salad and there was little amount of chicken the sauce that they put in there was definitely old and tasted that way then I got the burger and I had ordered it medium rare and it was burnt on half the burger and it was more than well done the burger itself had no seasoning on there it was plain and tasteless the fries themselves had no salt on them I don't like tomatoes so I can't wait how the lettuce and tomatoes were because I didn't eat them the food was gross all together read more

This is definitely a local gem. I find it difficult to find good places for a fish fry but The Light Palace definitely makes a good one. The pieces of fish have a lot of meat and they give you a lot (I could only eat half of my dinner). Best fish fry this side of town - best Bluegill I've ever had in my life. Besides that, their mashed potatoes are the bee's knees, their burgers are juicy and delicious, and my girlfriend says they make a mean and underrated blood mary with bacon and cheese. I usually end up at the Light Palace about once a month as it's one of the few places in Cudahy you can go to on a weekend night and see young people! I am not a very picky person when i comes to restaurants and bars, so just the fact that I would add one star and write a full negative review says something about the service I received. I went to the Light Palace for the first time last night. My boyfriend and I walked in and looked around, then began looking at what they had on tap. It was pretty empty inside and there was a girl, who I later found out was the bartender, sitting in a chair at the bar with her feet up. A couple minutes after we approached the bar, she walked up and immediately said, "I need to see IDs. Now." My boyfriend and I are over the age of 21, so it wasnt a problem, but her attitude was. She looked at each ID for over 5 minutes in silence, then literally THREW them back across the bar at us. My boyfriend and I exchanged looks and decided to get drinks anyway. We took them away from the bar and played pool. When we asked for the triangle to set it up, she said nothing, walked across the room and slammed it down on the pool table, then walked away. Again, we just brushed it off. We went back to the bar to get two more drinks and by then there was another patron there who she was talking to about how much she hated her job. As we were waiting for our drinks, a friend of hers came in and asked if it was too close to final call and she replied, "Id be stuck here anyway with these people so it doesnt really matter." She then proceeded to throw the dirty glasses hard enough to knock things over and complain to her friends about her "shithole job" and how "irritating and annoying these people are". We again walked away and had our drinks near the pool tables. We talked for a while and lost track of time, but soon enough the bartender began walking around us turning off all of the lights and machines around us without saying a word, not telling us if they were closing down, but still not paying attention to the other patron sitting at the bar. We brought our glasses up to the bar and left. We went there with the intent to have a fun date outing to a place we wouldnt usually go to and ended up seriously regretting it. We spent maybe one fourth of the budget we use for date nights, which is suppose is actually a good thing. I wouldnt want to help support a business that allows their workers to treat customers like that. I would suggest to anyone looking for a new bar to just go down the street a little more and try something else. This is the worst bar I have ever been to in my life. read more

This is absolutely the best fish fry we have tasted in the last 5 years! The icelandic cod was tops! Great service, even tho the bar was packed; the waitress even suggested we order then, because there was a party of 25 arriving soon!
