Came here for dinner and unfortunately left pretty underwhelmed overall. The restaurant itself was clean, and service initially started off fine. When we first arrived, the restaurant was not busy. Only a couple other tables occupied, so expectations were fairly high for a smooth experience. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. The food took quite a while to come out despite how slow it was. When it finally did, it was first delivered to the wrong table before eventually making its way to us. The food runner then randomly grabbed a ranch from our table and brought it to another table. He seemed potentially new, but overall the service felt very disorganized and clueless, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered the cheese curds to start, and they were disappointing. The breading was mushy and extremely greasy, and the cheese itself tasted low quality rather than the fresh curds you'd expect at a Wisconsin pub. We also ordered several wing flavors since they were on special: garlic parm, buffalo, bourbon BBQ, and lemon pepper. One issue right away was the lack of flavor variety overall on the menu. The wings themselves were inconsistent. Sizes varied dramatically, which clearly affected the cook quality. Some were fried so hard they were like chewing leather, while others had soggy, undercooked skin. Flavor wise the buffalo were almost completely flavorless. The lemon pepper was extremely mild. The garlic parm was probably the best of the group, though still just average. The bourbon BBQ was rough. The sauce tasted like an overly sweet, overly salty cheap jarred glaze rather than an actual house-made BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the Mary Mac burger without a bun and was told extra lettuce leaves could be substituted to make it a lettuce wrap. Instead, it came out with just shredded lettuce. The burger itself was overcooked and lacking flavor. The fries were decent enough, but nothing memorable. Overall, this felt like a place with potential that just missed the mark on both execution and consistency during our visit. read more

Hubby is always up for a good burger, so we stopped here on our way out of town on a Wednesday night. Signage outside indicated that they have fish fry on Wednesday night so that was a plus for me. He had a water street melt with chips and fried cheese sticks. He asked for his burger to be cooked medium. The menu indicated his burger had onion spread on it. His burger was not cooked medium but well done. The onion spread was a "sauce overload" and not a pleasant addition to the melt. The cheese sticks were wrapped in a won ton wrap and deep fried. They were served with a marinara. The cheese sticks could have used some type of seasoning to give them flavor. Very bland. I had the fish fry special of fried perch. Mild fishy flavor and definitely frozen. Thin crumb breading that had some type of seasoning. I choose fries, coleslaw, and rye toast. The fries and toast were the best parts. I wanted tartar sauce for my fish but it was so sweet that it wasn't good with the fish. Service was fine. She needed to leave before us and asked if we wanted to close our ticket. We didn't plan on staying as we're traveling so we closed it out. Location was easy to find. Bar area was clean. read more

Been to this and the other Water Street locations over the years. Had a good experience all around. I always feel Water Street has okay beer but better food. It's a nice big open location in Grafton. Plenty of seating. Staff is always friendly. Had a chicken sandwich and a beer. All in all, a dependable place to get a good meal. I could take or leave their beer but it's by no means bad either. There's just better beer in and around the Milwaukee area. read more

I needed to stay in the Germantown / Menomonee Falls area around dinner time and specifically wanted to stop somewhere with cheese curds as it was National Cheese Curd Day. Water Street Pub & Grill had both cheese curds and some daily specials I was interested in, so that ended up being my choice. In addition to cheese curds I got eight wings and a quesadilla. The cheese curds ended up being the cornmeal breaded kind that I don't care for. They were greasy and weren't very crunchy. Wings are $0.99 each on Tuesdays (as of 10/15/2024). They aren't listed on their normal menu, so I had to ask what the sauce/rub choices they had. There weren't any rub options, but for sauces there was mild, hot, bourbon BBQ, teriyaki, and garlic parmesan. I went with bourbon BBQ. The bourbon BBQ sauce was strong, which is great if you like the taste of bourbon, and the wings were well sized. The wings were fried, but not breaded, which feels like a crucial step if you're going to fry wings. If you're not going to bread them, it would be nice if they were grilled instead. Quesadillas are 20% off on Tuesdays (again as of 10/15/2024). I ordered one with corned beef inside, but it arrived to my table with beef brisket inside instead. I didn't feel like mentioning the mistake since beef brisket is good too, so I rolled with it. The quesadilla was the clear winner of the food options I tried with good flavor and a good amount of brisket in it. If I come back, I'd consider getting the quesadilla again. read more

I couldn't resist a Mac n cheese special so we drove out to Water Street on a weekend afternoon. We sat at the bar where the bartender was very friendly and we found out very new to the bar. In addition to the Mac n cheese boat we also tried the cheese curds and brisket grilled cheese. (We love our cheese obviously) And all were perfect. read more

Just ok. We got there on a Friday night at 4 and their "dining room" was 1 very large group. 1 menu for everyone in the bar to share because the large party was using all of them. It was shift change. It was just a cluster. Waitress/bar tender stood at hostess stand and texted while the kitchen rang the bell alerting food was ready to run. My husband & I had a great time at The Social Haus. They have an extensive fish fry menu, being the main reason for my visit. I loved that they had salmon! They had it and it was different, it was good; just like the potato pancakes (air-fried, I'm guessing). The space felt intimate and casual. Which is cool. Amelia, our server, was great. I went to there for a fish fry last Friday and had pan fried walleye and it was the best walleye that ive ever had , it melted in my mouth and was delicious, its always clean in there and their waitress and bartenders were very nice !! It was so good that we're going to go there this friday . I highly recommend that you go there and try their food , you wont be disappointed ! read more

Enjoyed a dinner here during a non-Packers play-off game. Great seating for watching the game either at the bar or in a small dining area. We both got burgers and fries - great taste and flavors. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and we're happy with the quality! Service was good - the bartender was handling the whole place, but since it was t super crowded we didn't notice a lag time in service at all. What a charming spot! Came here on a Saturday evening after a leaf peeping adventure. I'm not gonna lie...we were hungry. We were in an unfamiliar area trying to find dinner and were bordering on hangry. We found this spot on Yelp, saw that we could order takeout right from the Yelp app, and furthermore saw that they had a bacon cheddar burger and were all in! We ordered from the Yelp app and then drove here. By the time we got here, our order was ready. Everything was great. The bacon cheddar burger was delish as were the fries (with a side of their house made ranch? Yes, please!). The restaurant itself is adorable from the outside and from what we could see with our quick takeout order, cute within as well (we came during COVID19, so takeout for us!). Wow, a really nice place to visit on a quiet Friday afternoon. Nice selection of beers along with an awesome fish fry. Just popped in for a bite to eat off the freeway, clean friendly atmosphere and you can tell they take pride in this place! Greeted as you walk in and not your typical bar type restaurant. Recently renovated I would guess, has gambling machines located in several places to keep you occupied while waiting for food if you like and lots of TV's. Amazing find. Was looking around for a good burger place and this came up. My wife and I went there for lunch. She had baked cod with potato pancake and said it was marvelous. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger with fries and was not at all disappointed. Great service even though the bartender was doing double duty as wait staff as well. I tend bar here on weekends and look forward to coming in for every shift. I tell people that I come here to decompress from my 9 to 5 job! This is the corner Cheers bar that you have always wanted. The atmosphere is so laid back and people are friendly. The regulars genuinely care about me and want to know my life story. It can be packed or slow, and no matter what it is a happy place. The new owners have expanded the menu and the chef is amazing. Everything tastes good (I promise!). Domestics are cheap and the craft beer offerings are a deal, as well. I brought my out-of-town childhood friends on a Saturday night and we had the place to ourselves. They loved it. It's nice sitting on the other side of the bar, sometimes! Come down and hang out with me every other Sunday morning to watch games, chat, and play Shake of the Day. I'll make you a mean Wisconsin Old Fashioned. :) read more

This is a safe place! And I cannot reiterate the cleanliness! I'm tolerant as a bar goer but LOVE it. Side note: I ordered the "fish Sammy" and the cook (owner) came out and asked if I wanted cheese or not as it wasn't updated on their pos yet. What service! Very impressed with the remodel, very bright and open feeling. This was my first time eating here and I enjoyed my Mary Mac burger, basically a take on the Big Mac. The patty was nicely done and I think stemmed even, with a nice soft bun. The fries were soft, yet crispy...pair them with a side of their in house ranch dressing and there is awesomeness happening. The floor space was laid out nicely, so if it got busy it wouldn't feel cramp, as far as I can imagine. I sat at the bar and the bar tender was prompt with greeting me and gave me plenty of time to look and decide on a lunch item. Also, the menu options are not overwhelming, something for most anyone I would believe. I'll be back for their lunch special this Thursday, for $5 and an additional upgrade of a $1 for fries, I'm in! Check out their recent remodel and new menu. Additionally, they have a Prime Rib dinner special on Saturdays that has me intrigued. read more

Food is good for a tavern. The staff is not overly friendly. Pricing is fair. Overall is just "ok"
