I have been taking my grandsons to Dr. Light since they were very young. In fact she is the only one that has seen them. We changed dental insurance so we wouldn't have to pay so much at the office, then, all of a sudden, we get a letter that, the insurance that they recommended, was NOW going to be "out of network." SO convenient! NOW more has to come out of OUR pockets. This seems to ALWAYS be the case at this practice. I tend to agree with other reviewers that this dental practice is VERY greedy and is trying to "GOUGE" everyone that walks in the door. I also thought that Dr. Light was supposed to be a "Christian." Seems like that might not be the case also. Ridiculous! I WILL spread the word about this horrible way to conduct business. They can expect to lose our business. read more

This dental office is over the top with the COVID protocols. If you are okay with your child being scared and unhappy going to the dentist, this pediatric dental office will work for you. It's unfortunate as we have gone to Dr. Light since she opened her practice, but it appears her/her staff are completely freaked out by COVID and are putting that above their patients. Very disappointing and sad. We have left the practice and are going to a dentist that has common sense and cares about our kids' health. I wish medical professionals would take a stand and do what's truly best for their patients (& actually use common sense) rather than just follow what the media and politics tells them to do. Dr Light and her staff are amazing, from the scheduling of the appointment, greeting upon arrival, intake and exam, we are such big fans now! The doctor is greedy, not terribly competent, and provides bad estimates. Luckily, I did not go there for any big job. Unluckily, she is one of the very few pediatric dentists in town (which lets her to get away with her shenanigans.) We went to Dr.Light for our baby's first dental appointment. Before we actually did that, I provided all insurance information to the office, and waited 3 weeks(!) for the ladies to let me know how much this first appointment is going to cost me. Finally, I was told that since their office is out of network, I will have to pay $3 in addition to what insurance covers. On the day of the visit everything seemed to go OK. The dentist counted my baby's teeth, brushed her mouth with a regular toothbrush, and applied some sort of solution to the kids' mouth. All of which took about 15min, did not involve any instruments or any magic dentist handywork. We asked about teeth development, toothpaste recommendations. Dentist's responses quoted J&J (toothpaste manufacturer) commercials, and did not provide any useful information beyond that. She either did not know anything at all about baby's tooth care - or she refused to tell us. And then we were hit with a bill. Insurance paid its "normal and customary" rates, which happened to be less than half of $170 charge for 15min of non-qualified work this dentist demands. The rest was billed to us. The nice lady at the office who provided the $3 estimate was now saying that their estimates are not guaranteed. We contacted the doctor, and she was now blaming the benefits coordinator for the insurance for the bad estimate. I am not sure what is worse - overall incompetence, providing estimates in bad faith, or blaming other people for own bad work. Who is Ms.Light going to blame for badly done dental work - equipment manufacturers? supplies providers? Not going to find out. read more

Even after a move two hours away, I still continue to bring my son to Dr. Light. She and her staff create such an environment that my son is excited to go to the dentist! I appreciate her way with the kiddos - she is gentle, uses terms that are relevant to his age, and makes sure we both understand what's going on. Her conservative approach to treatment is of huge value to me and the kindness of her staff is second to none. I don't take the decision of my children's medical providers lightly, and I couldn't be more thankful for where we have landed with Dr. Light. She is setting the foundation in my child to not be fearful of the dentist when he is older, and that is something to be proud of. Light Pediatric Dentistry is the best for a reason! read more

We had attended this dental office twice before, in which I accompanied my child the entire time; we had no problems. During her last visit, they said I couldn't be with her during treatment. I had no problem with that. Once I was able to see my daughter, I should had known something was wrong. As soon as she saw me she began to cry, I could see the fear in her face. I was told that towards the end she woke up from a nap and began to panic. I was told that they just had to tell her to calm down and took off their masks and that she was okay after that. I felt that the situation sounded reasonable and didn't question it. After vitals and paperwork we were allowed to go home. My daughter kept telling me she never wanted to go back, I didn't think much of it since most kids never want to return to the dentist. Later during the day, once we were home, my daughter approached me in tears telling me that the DENTIST HAD SCREAMED AT HER TO CALM DOWN AND THREATENED HER BY SAYING THAT IF SHE DIDNT STOP CRYING MOM WAS GOING TO LEAVE.   I have no words to describe how heartbroken I am to know that a so called professional pediatric team treated my child this way. Not only was it unethical and unprofessional, but knowing that a child in an unfamiliar environment who is extremely scared was treated this way is just devastating.    I understand that children are difficult to work with, but this is a pediatric dentistry, there are numerous of other ways this situation could had been handled. Screaming and threatening a 4 year old is horrendous and unacceptable. I went in there thinking that my daughter was in a safe space I left her under their care trusting that she was going to be well taken care of, not screamed at or threatened.  When I brought this to Dr. Light's attention, of course she denied it and claimed that she "changed her tone" and that "a four year old who just woke up from a nap is not the best story teller". Easy to do when there wasn't a parent present in the room. Ever since our appointment my daughter has been waking up in the middle of the night, because she has nightmares about the "Mean Dentist". This situation has affected her more than enough to know that what my daughter said actually happened and that it wasn't just a "change of tone". read more

Today was my 8 y/o daughter sedation appointment in which Dr. Light will give a sedation liquid to make my sweetheart sleep or at ease during the procedure. To cut to the chase, the outcomes were disastrous. My daughter first reaction with tears and sobs "I don't want to come here anymore" When I got home I asked her about the reason why she hated it. She responded, and that what shocked me, that she woke up in the middle of the procedure and she started crying looking for me. Dr. Light, instead of calming her fears, threatens and said "if you don't stop crying you will spend the night in the dentist" that worsen the situation and my daughter starts gagging and couldn't breathe. Dr. Light told her to breathe through her nose and hold her sobbing until she finish. My daughter is eight, never cried in any dentist before, but her experience today changed her attitude toward dentists. We trusted Dr. Light to care for our daughter, but sadly she was harsh, incompetent to deal with kids and lift scar in my daughter's memory that will not easily heal. read more

We are so THANKFUL for Dr. Light. My daughter was scared of the dentist but you never would have known during my daughter's first visit with Dr. Light. Our last dentist couldn't even get my daughter to open her mouth in front of him. Now, she looks forward to going to the dentist, and at one point my daughter wanted to be one herself! For female patients, Dr. Light names each tooth after a princess - How cool is that? Three years later, and my 9 year old daughter brushes twice a day, and flosses and rinses every night - all on her own! read more

Absolutely love Dr Light and staff. To be honest with you I am shocked by the two bad reviews on this page. They couldn't be more wrong. My kids love Dr Light and my oldest son has had to have a tooth pulled and a lot of work done. The price has always been great and she has don't nothing but make him comfortable. If anything I'm the one sitting there telling him to calm down and toughen up a little to get him through it. Lol. Like I said amazing Dentist and staff always go out of their way to make the kids comfortable and they always provide the right pricing. Thank you all for being amazing! read more

We love Dr. Light! Dr. Light's office has a very child-friendly atmosphere with fun waiting room, stuffed animals to look at, and cartoons on in our room. Our daughter always looks forward to the fun balloons, bouncy ball, and stickers she comes home with every time. She and her staff are friendly, calming, and very reassuring. Dr.Light and the staff are amazing.My kids love them.She was the only dentist that agreed with me on doing my daughter (3 1/2 years) with just sedation and not general anesth. Dr. Light and her staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and overall absolutely wonderful. The staff has always been very competent and Dr. Light is just fabulous with my little one. She does "lap exams" when the babies are young and each time we go, my son gets a little more comfortable with the process (kind of a scary thing for babies). Basically, I hold him in my lap with his head in her lap and she does the exam, brushes his teeth, and puts a vitamin coating on them. Her office has also always been very upfront with cost for me. For his first visit, my son did not have dental insurance and the cost of the exam was very reasonable. I would (and do) recommend her to everyone I know; I've been blown away by how amazing she is with the kiddos! read more
