Note: I met a former board member that knows the situation well, and she said, "Ronnie is bankrupting the nursery to support her lifestyle." Explains why every week she was on vacation in California or on some international adventure. 2) The energy is HORRIBLE esp. if you are not donating to all of their programs. They won't even greet your child when you arrive with him/her. The teachers all look exhausted, unhappy and annoyed. And they are quick to tell you what they think of every detail of your child's abilities -- mostly negative. 3.) They charge a HUGE deposit (no other preschool in the area charges like this), and BEWARE of the contract. We lost several thousand dollars for taking our son out early. It's insane. 4.) It is so tiny that in the winter the kids are all huddled together in a small space -- ALL DAY. A MUCH BETTER OPTION: World Cup Nursery School. Our experienced teachers really knew kids' personalities, their likes an dislikes. The school is a very safe and nurturing place with talented staff (after-school program is one of the best I've seen) and rich traditions. By the way, their celebrations are simply amazing! When he was about to turn three this past September, he moved into the 3, 4 and 5 year old class. That is when they noticed he had a hard time sitting still and focusing. He was about to age out of EI (Early Intervention) and start CPSE (Committee on Preschool Education), which would mean the therapists that were approved (Speech, SEIT and OT) could work with him in his classroom environment. However, MCR does NOT allow ANY therapists in this school to work with children who have been approved to receive it. So, we were left with no other choice, and had to scramble to find a new school in the middle of October of 2018. Not an easy task considering that most were already full by that point. Luckily we found a school that my son adores. It is a play based, loving and nurturing environment, that is so in tune with nature and outdoor play. I guess everything happens for a reason, and we were very fortunate to end up where we are now. MCR does wonderful things with the students, my son learned a lot in his time there. Their holiday show and graduation are amazing as well, along with their camp. That said, Montessori is not for every child, especially a child that requires therapy of any sort. What bothered me about our experience is how they didn't give me any feedback of his behavior in the baby class (NK) prior to moving up. We did have parent teacher conferences twice in the school year, but they never spoke about how he was disruptive, couldn't focus or sit still. Had I known this was going to be an issue, we could have looked for other schools before he started in the toddler class. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth, as we felt forced out of there in a way. In closing, I debated on whether or not to write a review about my experience with this school. However, I recently learned the same thing is happening with another child there, so I wanted to give other parents a heads up before you consider going to this school.

Prospect Academy is a corner stone of the Russian community in Westchester. Even after that, we continued with Prospect for after-school programs, that my children benefited from tremendously. This school is always coming up with new initiatives - cooking classes, dance classes, outdoor gardens, German or Spanish language programs - it's always fun, new and interesting! We can't say enough about the loving and caring teachers that my children were lucky to be nurtured by. Everyone at Prospect treats us like family. My children have long since graduated, but I keep coming there for the Moms Dance classes every week! The program at the school is full of hands-on education and learning made fun. Going outside in any weather is a must - great way to make our kids resilient and unafraid. We have one Hitchcock school graduate, now in Kindergarten, and one child currently at Hitchcock school. We have loved absolutely everything about the school. Hitchcock school has the best teachers and directors. Everyone is so caring, nurturing, professional and very experienced. The teachers really understand that every child is unique and give a lot of individual attention to every child. Every teacher, as well as both directors, have amazing experience in being an educator, teaching at Hitchock, or being parents themselves. The playground is new, safe, and really a fantastic area for the kids to play. My kids have played for hours after school hours on the playground with their friends. The indoor gym is a huge, open, bright space for the kids to run around in. The school brings out a variety of things to play with, including my kids favorites - bikes. The classrooms all have lots of windows with great light, always very clean and organized, with a variety of educational toys. The 6 month to 24 month program is very unique and a wonderful opportunity that prepared my child for school at an earlier age, while having fun with friends. The children who were in the toddler program are all ready to go when starting the 2s. In the 2s, 3s, and 4s, the school does an incredible job at teaching. We feel our Hitchcock school graduate is very prepared for Kindergarten, compared to his peers. I am very grateful that they take the time and have great patience when teaching children. The school has a great weekly music program and my kids really enjoy learning many songs. They also have fantastic weekly gymnastics class that my kids love. There are also a lot of extra activies, such as woodworking, animals that are brought in or special shows. We have also really enjoyed the after school lunch bunch and extended day opportunities. My child's favorite extended day program was science. From my experiences with other schools in the area, Hitchcock school is truly the best, and where we choose to send our children.
