Even though I moved further North I still visit this location when I need something that requires you go to a hardware store to find. The inside of the shop is like any other hardware store. It is jammed packed with merchandise. It is like a chaotic mess. I would never go to this store without having the exact item that I need in mind because it is overwhelming. Even when I know exactly what I need I also find myself scratching my head when looking for something. When you walk into the store you will be quickly greeted by the employee at the cash register. The staff is super helpful. I have literally brought a screw that I needed to the shop and the gentleman figured out which one it was without hesitation. He made sure I had all of my washers and the exact amount I needed. He didn't make me feel clueless, even though I felt clueless, because he educated me on the various types of screws.

A few years ago, when ours unexpectedly went out, they were like a SWAT team. They arrived quickly, cleaned everything up, and had a new water heater installed in no time. They asked him to send a few pictures, immediately diagnosed the issue, and texted him a short video showing exactly how to reset it. A few minutes later, we had hot water again. But it seems that era has ended. I came in a hot mess, I have no design skills. I relied on the sales person to help me and I thought she was amazing. She was kind, patient and seemed to really get me and my condo style - benig "vintage" and wanting to modernize was beyond me. She was super helpful and made me feel like she knew exactly what I needed. That was until I left the showroom. I ordered two ceiling fans from her that day, it wasn't cheap. I also ordered one I'd found on my own online. I hired someone reputable to install them for me and I was all set. But then they left and within days the two I purchased from Crest (different manufacturers) were both on the fritz. Hard to believe for sure, but both manufacturers agreed this was a fluke and they both had inherent issues requiring replacement. And then I had to replace them, which meant I had to pay for the labor again. One of the fixtures is in a room I hadn't needed the fan for in the first year. But then I did, and it didn't work. At that same time I noticed the on/off switch wasn't working properly either. I called the manufacturer and they agreed it was a warranty claim and to call Crest to replace the wall switch. Not something I feel comfortable doing on my own. When I talked to Crest, they said they'd order me a part and well... they did but never called to tell me it had come in. I called on my own three weeks later and they said it was there waiting for me. I verified I could wait for the weekend to get it. Of course they are closed on Sundays so It had to be during the short Saturday hours. I raced to get there in the window only to find a lot of confusion. It wasn't waiting for me at all. The woman who said she'd call me was there and surprised I was asking questions. She said she hadn't heard back from the manufacturer to answer my question about paying for labor, and they all just threw their hands up and said they couldn't help me because the manager wasn't there. Let's just say it's the end of an era and I won't be back for business in the future. Good luck with your purchases after you leave the store.
