Shortly after contacting Hogan Landscapes, Bryan reached out, walked my yard with me and provided a quote. The price was unbeatable and the job was outstanding. Bryan and his team did more than an excellent job. They made my yard look amazing and even went above and beyond, removed excess debris and fixed some minor exterior commodities. The overall quality of work and level of service was outstanding. I would highly recommend Bryan and his crew with Hogan Landscapes to anyone. Hogan's installed sod in our front yard on July 23, 2026 while we were returning from vacation in…read morespite of us specifically requesting that it not be installed until July 24th or later. We wanted to be home to make certain that the ground underneath was tilled or scraped and then top soil spread prior to installation of the sod. We paid for upgraded Scott ProVista St. Augustine sod from Duda & Sons. A few weeks later, after noticing that the grass was turning brown in spite of proper watering, someone from Hogan came and lifted the sod in a few locations and told us that the sod was not taking root and was brown on the underside. We have called repeatedly and asked that someone come and explain what they can do to fix the issue. They've promised that a manager would come out (never happened). Technically they have completed all of the tasks listed in their contract, sod follow-up inspection (this is when the inspector told us the sod had not rooted), irrigation management, follow-up visit by spray tech to apply preventive insecticide and nutrients to develop roots but the grass is still yellow/brown/dead after 5 weeks. We have had ample rain and watered repeatedly Additionally, the sod was installed in such a way that we are unable to open our gate and have asked that they fix that as well. Now they are refusing to take and/or return our calls.

Part of my design was to have been a gift for my children for the holidays which I was told is feasible, is mentioned in the contract. But holidays came and went with ZERO communication from this company. I understand the contract does not guarantee any time line, but why set false expectations and not even call to say this deadline will not be met. I began trying to contact this company in December. I left 2-3 voicemails and have yet to receive a phone call back. I have sent 4 emails to which I received only one response on 1/6: " I am back in town and will meet with the graphics guy that is completing the graphics portion of this on Saturaday. I will hope to have th design to you next week and will press him to make that happen." Since that email there has been zero communication. In fact I have not spoken to this company since they day the picked up my check. I understand that design process takes time, but it has been over 3 months and the complete lack of communication and follow through is appalling. I would not recommend doing business with this company. How can you not even return a phone call?!

We hired this company to build a patio, front entrance walkway and redo all my plant beds. The…read moretotal amount was over $20K. We hired them because of all the reviews and, after comparing with other companies we thought it was the contractor to hire. Well, I got to say, they did a good job with the brick patio and walkway. Although less than a year with our having some issues with the slope coming into the house instead of against it. I was extremely clear about that. They also created a fireplace with a semi-circular wall with lights. Well, as for the firepit, they failed to leave areas for the air to come in (which is needed to feed the fire), no protection to the brink inside, really hard to create a nice fire anyway. In the design, we have a sitting wall next to the firepit that we opted to include lights. The transformer and installation cost us an additional $1k. The staff didn't bury the cables properly with protective tubing and just barely buried them about 1 in if not underground - just covered with a lot of mulch. At the moment, we are in the process of hiring another professional to redo this was good but all the cables were not properly buried, didn't use protective tubing - we are now in the process to hire another contractor to redo poorly installed lights which we are expecting to pay around $1K more. So, for the bed plants - they brought soil from (who knows where) and introduced torpedo grass. After bringing this to his attention, he said I already had the problem, not true, because never had this issue for 4 years, it just started to happen after work was done. I asked why he didn't put the industrial-grade landscaping plastic and he felt insulted. I was livid. Because once his staff left the job, it was not completed so it took me quite a few phone calls to reach him. He designed and we trusted his advice on this one - he planted a whole bunch of Sago palms (were about $25+ a piece) - we lost over 10 of those within the first 6 months. They were way too young. He also recommended some ornamental grasses for the front and back of the house, they look absolutely awful once they started to grow and take over everything. Three other landscapers told me afterwards, these type of grasses are great to plant around lakes or ponds and not were they were planted. To fix the problem A&R created, we had to spend another $1500.00 a year later to install - industrial grade plastic, replace over 20 plants (the new landscaper charge me a fraction of the cost for the plants - he even said I was over charge for the type of plants), and re-mulch. 3 months later after work was redone, the bed areas look fabulous and no issues with the torpedo grass taken over the areas. Overall - I will not recommend this company - they maybe good doing brick work, but stay away from his landscaping designs. If he really knew the areas, he would not had recommended all the plants not suited for my gardens. BTW - he promised he was going to be onsite for a specific front design, he never showed up, but, be aware, they are great asking you for the installments during the work.
