Diane was such a big help in getting my wedding dress fixed. The top was too high for my frame and she worked with my budget and time to give me what I absolutely needed. I would proceed with caution if you need alterations on a wedding dress. I went to this seamstress because of her positive yelp reviews and the write up on her website about experience, but I really wish I would have chosen someone else who could really dedicate the necessary time on my dress. I wish she would have been honest, and upfront that she couldn't take my business due to time constraints. Before accepting any sort of service, I would ask her if she really has time to dedicate on you and your dress. Let me preface my review by stating I am a sewer and amateur seamstress myself. I chose not to work on my own dress because I didn't want the hassle for my wedding day. And I also want to say the owner of this shop was very professional. I don't doubt she has skill and expertise, she's just far too busy to really tap into it. Like I hinted above, the friendly woman (Diane?) who owns this business was far too busy and overwhelmed on alterations during prom season to spend the right amount of time needed for my wedding gown. Also, her shop was so crowded, it only increased any kind of nervousness or lack of trust I had for choosing her when I would go to my appointments. I ended up having 4 appointments with her and by the 3rd appointment, I was worried. (I almost believe she forgot I actually already had 3 fittings already by the 4th visit.) At the 4th I was disappointed, but just wanted to get out of there and never come back. I didn't complain to her, and this is a regret. But, it was 1 day before my wedding and what more could she really do? I just wanted to get home, and use the remaining 1 day! of time to fix what I paid for. What she altered in on the sides was a professional job, and I was impressed. What I had requested done for the shoulders was last minute, and she did well for the time. No complaints for either of these. However, the most visible part of the dress where she needed to insert a fabric modestly piece was so botched. She left a raw edge on the fabric, so it was fraying my entire wedding day and folks commented!!!! Also she machine sewed it (so the stitching was visible to everyone) and she didn't even trim the extra thread. She should have hand sewed it. If I had the time, I would have just done this myself if I had known this was what I was paying for. It was basically a "I only have 10 minutes before she gets here, let's do this quick and dirty" kind of job. I'm at least grateful the thread matched. I ended up seam ripping out all of the changes she made to the bow requests. Maybe there was a miscommunication there of what I wanted, but whatever she did to it, was beyond me. It was hand stitched crooked on the back. I liked the bow before, but whatever was done to it made me dislike it. I ended up taking it off of the back of the gown. It did not make it to the wedding. Like I said above, I think the owner is incredibly talented when she has time- so ask her before you give her business. I think she may be balancing some tough things in her personal world that make her overbook what she's capable of completing on time. I would have been willing to pay more for her time if she would've actually been upfront. I wanted my dress to look nice and would have paid whatever if she needed to charge for that time to make it look great. I ended up paying $100 and was just solely bummed. Luckily I didn't let it ruin my day. I would personally never use her services in the future. read more

I dropped off a skirt on a Saturday for seam repair and was to pick it up the following Saturday at a designated time. I showed up to pick it up and she didn't remember me or my item. When she did recall, she hadn't started it. I was to come back the next day. I did come back and when I was trying to examine the skirt, Diane kept taking it out of my hands to show me what she did. I paid her $18 and took the skirt to my daughter, who saw the same rip immediately. I asked Diane for a refund. She argued with me and said there must have been two rips and she didn't see it. She said she wouldn't see the rip if she didn't put the skirt on. Seriously?!? Diane is argumentative. She should have offered to fix the skirt at no charge but she didn't. This is not good customer service. She has also been argumentative with others if you look at other reviews. Her business is a mess. She works from her home. It's unkempt, trash bags everywhere in her greeting room. Empty alcohol bottles in bins in the front, up against the house, along with other junk and debris. Unkempt yard. Peeling paint. She uses a car accident in Nov as her excuse. She told me the reason she didn't repair the seam for a week was because there "were a lot of deaths in the family that week." She has a reputation with other seamstresses in the area because people who leave diane's go to them. Stay clear! read more

My theme wedding day was ruined and she only offered me back $50.00 for her lack of ability to provide what she promised when i paid just shy of $400.00 I would not go here! I wish I had taken my dress back from her before she finished it. It is a very delicate dress beaded and 40's style. She had cancelled or push back fittings due to going to the hospital or proms were in the horizon. She told me she was able to do what was needed. It needed to be taken in and the lining needed to me changed. I had asked to pick the dress up a week before my wedding she made the appointment then I got a call she had spent too much time in the hospital and was up all night sewing beads and needed for time. The best she could do was the day of my wedding. To say the least as I tried it on beads fell off like crazy and there were strings having all over. The boob was puckering because the dart was wrong. and she had said se put a new zipper in but had trouble with it it kept getting caught. She said she fixed the pucker and refit the dress to me she pulled it tight behind e and the pucker seemed to go away. I paid for the dress and left because I had to get home and get ready. Once I got home and put on the dress took it out of the bag - More beads kept falling - the pucker was still there upon my mother zipping it up and even worse the dart was still bad and the beads formed a large peak on my my boob so it looks like my nipple is 3x's normal size and protruding yuck! then upon further inspection There are holes in the shoulder and the strap is very thin so I am expecting that it will rip more as I walk down the isle. the lining was sewn uneven in the cleavage and I am sure that is partially due to the darts being done incorrectly; I called Dyane and let her know this was not acceptable and she said just iron the beads they will lay flat. and that the original dart in the dress was wrong but she followed the line anyway... If you know it is wrong and claim to be a professional seamstress wouldn't you fix something that is wrong. SHE RUINED MY DRESS!! with 2 hours left before the weeding I had to run out an by a dress off the rack at Macy's My theme wedding was ruined. She only offered me back $50.00 what a joke. read more

I searched for a seamstress to do a prom dress alteration and came to lil bit website and it's good reviews. I did not pay attention to the fact that these good reviews were dated from 2013 and 1999. My fault being that a dress I bought in February of this year needed to be altered for a prom date of two weeks. My daughters date ended up being shorter and so the dress needed to be hemmed from the waist as it was very full with a flowery pattern at the bottom. Also, my daughter had to have it let out three inches. This review is not intended to be mean spirited at all, I just wanted to share my experience. I think Diane is a great person and she may have done fantastic work in the past. But I feel that she was not equipped to do the proper work on this dress and if honesty is the way to do, she could have said no from the get go. Nor does she have the proper space . But I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I left the dress and a $100 deposit on 4/15/16. We went for a fitting 4/19 and was told to bring shorts to pin the skirt to the shorts. Went for a fitting sat 4/23 and dress was cut from the top and was shorter on one side. She pinned it to new waistband and was trying to let it down but not much to work with . She told us she must have one hip higher than the other. Also, the pockets had been removed . This was a very full dress with many layers .she did not say a thing to us about removing the pockets . This was my dish goers senior prom and this dress cost $650. My diathermy works hard with school and I wanted her to have a dress of her dreams. Each fitting we became less and less confident . Also since it was a very full skirt she had pleated it with two pleats in the front , which was fine, it smoothed the front down and we went for a fitting on mon 4/25 for a prom Thursday 4/28. Went we went mon, there were four pleats in this very full skirt. Two in the front and two in the back. At this point I had little faith with prom in three days I said how much to take this dress with me today the way it is? $200. She said I'm not comfortable , it has all my pins in it. I told my daughter to take the dress and I paid her the additional $200. We were on our way to pick up my other daughters dress at another shop. We took the dress in and after my daughter put it on, and stood on a platform with room so see the whole dress. We were astounded , the dress was three inches shorter on one side. No pockets . And no waist to work with. Ruined . P,ease use caution when choosing this seamstress. . We bought a new dress. In the big picture, it's a dress. But we are out $950 .
