But, a very close second is cake. This may come as a surprise if you know my upbringing, which was mostly cobblers and pies. I just love the layers, the textures, the beauty in presentation. And at the top of these are lemon and strawberry centric cakes. Fold in it being my birthday (lazy pun intended) and you have a recipe for a great experience (pun #2). My doorbell rang. I checked the video and there was stood someone with a brown and blue paper bag. What could this be? They handed me the bag and I immediately began to smile, having seen the logo. But my happiness grew as I reached inside and pulled out a trio of lemon cakes! I had to at least try one (it was my birthday after all). A sample began the first cake.
