This is a GREAT store. I go there to buy all my baby gifts, as well as all my car seats. They are helpful, knowledgeable and always have some kind of sale going on. They carry great brands as well. But the best part of the store is Elaine. She is their amazing car seat technician and makes sure the car seats are in safely and shows you how to adjust them and what to watch for. She does all this with the kids in the car, all the while teaching them too. She's awesome! read more

I have had to venture to this store twice now to have my stroller looked at since this store and Macklem's are the only two stores in the GTA that provide service for the UppaBaby brand. I also think the stroller technician takes cares of other brands since I saw another mom bring in her Bugaboo for a tune-up. TIP: I just realized that the best person to ask for recommendations on strollers is the tech guy! Anyway, back to my review of the store: So, the store is pretty large for an independent baby store. Their website is user friendly and you can browse it first before coming into the store so you won't forget what you've come there for! They do sell a lot of things that I have not seen at other stores and their prices are competitive. There is a wide range of strollers that you can test out. The staff is quite friendly. The stroller guy is also quite nice :) You can find free parking along the residential side streets. Unfortunately for me, it is quite a trek - especially with all the construction that is happening in the area. However, I have always walked out of the store with a bag of goodies because it is hard to resist buying baby products - especially products you can't find at your local (but somewhat more accessible and convenient) babies r us - i.e., Dapper Snappers, Tilty Cup, Booginhead Sippy Cup Holder, Munchkin Sippy Straw Cup, etc. read more

This cute neighbourhood store has all the baby essentials that you could want. Prices are decent, but I would still compare with Amazon or BabiesRUs. We came in to look at gliders, they have a good sized selection of different brands, and you can take your time trying out each one. We ended up purchasing a floor model that was on sale for 1/2 price! It was a Saturday afternoon, and it got pretty busy. There is lots of staff around to help and they are quite knowledgeable, except when they need to defer to the owner to answer some basic questions. The only thing I wasn't impressed about, was when one of the staff called the owner to help us with the chairs, I saw him come out and help with another couple for over 20 mins and counting until I asked an associate what's the deal. I found it a little rude to leave us hanging like that. When he did get to us, he was super helpful in answering questions and we were left to our own , in our own time to make a decision. We decided to buy the chair, and was told that someone will help us pack it up and take it to the car (my father in the street at the front of the store with an suv).. In the mdist of wrapping it, the person disappeared. And was helping someone else. After about 5-10 mins of waiting, asked the associate again, what's the deal? And she went to get him. This happened a few times, and it wasn't the workers fault. He was frustrated because he was asked to be in 3 places at once. My only suggestion is to have staff be a bit more organized in serving customers. It wasn't like they were not attentive. I just don't appreciate being told something, then waiting. read more

Products: Good variety of goods. Selection was fair. They had a LOT of rocking chairs and cribs. They had by far the nicest and sturdiest cribs. Price: A bit more expensive than some of the other stores but they have a convenient location. Parking: A small alleyway beside the store that can fit many cars. I had to back a truck and trailer out of there when picking up our crib and the guys who loaded it up helped me get out as well. Service: Quite helpful. Their staff gives reasonable opinions on products and they are willing to help. Small hiccup: The crib we ordered was on back order. They told us it would be in by a certain date and it took another few weeks. I understand that it isn't their fault. We finally get it and tried to assemble it and there is a small problem with the hardware deeming it unsafe to use. The service guy came and told me he had to come back. The owner made the second trip to make the fix. They finally got it fixed. It was a small annoyance but they resolved the issues. Another small hiccup was that we got the "matching" dresser but the colors are not exactly the same. It should be the same color from the came collection. Not a biggie but I would expect more quality control considering how much we paid for it. read more

I went into this store looking for a new stroller, but left before I could be helped because a woman who I assume to be the manager was berating employees on the sales floor in full view of any customer who could listen. It was unprofessional, and I felt sorry for the young lady who was treated more poorly than anyone should be treated by a human being while in service to their job. The sales floor was clean and the products looked nice, if a bit overpriced for the models. Save your money and shop somewhere where they don't treat people so poorly. Thumbs down. read more

I don't usually voice out my opinion but I felt compelled to when I experienced bad customer service by the staff over the phone. The thing is it wasn't just one time. When I put a deposit for one of their products that was on backorder back in March, I was told that they're expecting the product in 2 weeks. So I waited until the end of the month (it would've been more than a couple of weeks by then) before I called to get an update). Assuming that the product has arrived at your store, I asked why I haven't been called yet to let me know when to pick it up. And the person I talked to told me (almost rudely, might I add) that I didn't get a phone call cuz the product hasn't arrived yet. So I explained to her that I was just calling to get an update since I was told that the ETA was 2 weeks. At this point, the staff told me that if I couldn't wait, to just get a refund. This time, she definitely said it with an attitude. The conversation ended here. I let that one go. Maybe I was just imagining the attitude she gave me. Went to the Babytime Show a couple of weeks ago and found the same product there and bought it. Sent an email to the store again to ask for a refund. A staff named Amit emailed back and told me that the store will gladly give me a refund but I would have to call with the credit card info that I used to pay for the deposit. Called today. It was a lady I talked to but I didn't get her name. But I called around 1pm on May 1st (so the store can identify who it is). She looked up my file. Apparently on the file, it said that I paid in cash. Not true, I said. I haven't been to your store at all to be able to pay in cash. And she was persistent that I paid in cash and refused to refund my credit card. I explained to her I don't have time to drive to Toronto to get cash back from the store. I didn't even have to go there to pay the deposit because I paid with my credit card on the phone. Then she rudely sighed and rudely asked for my credit card info. Gave it to her. Then I imagined she did the transaction and told me that she refunded my credit card. I said thanks but I didn't hear anything from the other line after that until I got disconnected. I can only assume that she hung up on me. The thing is I don't even have a high standard for customer service and I'm not a high-maintenance customer. So if I'm writing this right now, then my advice is to remind your staff of good customer service. read more

Not a bad selection of stuff, but bad service. We walked in on a Saturday wanting to set up a registry. We were told that we had to book an appointment. We offered to do it ourself, but they weren't open to it until eventually one staff member agreed to help us. They install car seats if you buy them there, but they only install them during weekdays; inconvenient for people who work Mon-Fri. We cancelled our registry in the end. read more

I came upon this shop by chance and could not believe how many fancy, expensive, silly items they had for babies and small children. I love looking in stores like this, but have a hard time committing to a $25 onesie. The bigger ticket items were the same prices as everywhere else and they had a lot of stock in their store, so a great place to browse, or register for a baby shower. They have a great website with lots of sales and free shipping over $100. read more

My wife and I heard about this place from a friend that recently had a baby. We were quite surprised at the selection, of which many are not carried at the big box stores. I assumed that based on the ritzy neighborhood it's in the prices would be quite high, but I was wrong. Overall,: - quite good value on most things - great selection of items that may be hard to find otherwise - very helpful and knowledgeable staff - fantastic website - best of all, they have the best baby registry system we've come across. For example, unlike Toys' R ' Us they keep track of every item and who purchased it. That made returns of unwanted presents with no gift receipt so easy vs. The others that give you the value of the lowest price in the past 90 days. To top it off, you also get 10% of your first purchase when you register for the baby registry. The only negative is that they only have one store. I live near Aurora, so a second store closer to home would be a huge benefit. I'd like to suggest considering an expansion to both North of the city (I.e. Richmond Hill) and West (I.e. Oakville / Milton). Both areas have lots of new babies with parents looking for more options. We're now off to visit them again to pick up our stroller and to get our car seat professionally installed! read more

I also know someone who ordered a car seat and it took 2 months just for the owner to admit he could't get what they wanted. This store is great in that it has a very broad selection of items and brands. Where it falls down is the knowledge of the staff. Maybe I've been unlucky in the many times I've frequented the store, but it irks me that they pride themselves in having knowledgeable sales staff, and yet they fail to answer my questions. The typical response I received was "I don't know" *few minutes reading the box* "let me get an associate" . *associate comes, reads the box* "you'll have to call back tomorrow or wait for a manager. He'll know." . So maybe the manager has all the information, but I find the regular staff woefully unprepared. I'd be ok with it if the store were billed like a babies r us with lots of products and no customer service but it's not. I've purchased items there regardless as other stores in the gta don't carry them or Amazon was more expensive. For items for which I can go elsewhere, like directly to Monte for a glider and Ottoman (if Monte will ship directly to me from the manufacturer, why would I pay Lil niblets an extra shipping charge to get the chair from your store to my house? Also, the store associates told me misinformation about the fabrics as well as the shipping costs), I'll do it. read more

The store itself was nice and easy to browse, however, we had a terrible experience ordering a stroller. At the time we were there, the particular stroller we wanted was out of stock, which was fine since our baby wasn't due for another month. We were told that if we paid upfront, we would be given priority once the shipment came in 2-3 weeks. A month went by and we still hadn't been notified about the status of our stroller so I phoned the store. I was then informed that our stroller wasn't in yet, and it would be another week or so, as well, the bassinet wouldn't be available until the end of August. Keep in mind we told them our baby was due at the end of June. Needless to say I was quite upset that no one bothered to let us know this considering we would have to make alternate arrangements if the bassinet wasn't available at all for the first 2 months of the baby's life. They didn't even seem to understand why not having the bassinet until 2 months later was such a big deal. For such a huge purchase (over $1000) you would think they would have better customer service than that. I asked for a full refund but now have less than a week to find another stroller. Definitely not how I wanted to spend my last few days before the baby is born. read more

I bought my uppababy vista from here. Then a month later I went and bought my ergo from there. Something didn't feel right so I exchanged it and that's when I felt like the previous ergo they gave me was maybe used?! Then I bought aden and anais swaddles from them online! Guess what they were clearly used! When I complained they told me no swaddles had been returned and that wasn't possible and I could come and exchange it if I wanted to, and all that they said rudely! You would think they would be nicer to customers that bought over a thousand dollars worth from products from them! I didn't care to exchange the swaddles (50 bucks!!!) instead I'm never going there again! Read their return policy, they clearly state things must be returned in sell-able condition! Terrible store! Warning/Caution to all parents living in Toronto: Be careful in purchasing anything substantial from a store called Lil' Niblets on Avenue Road. I had a good experience buying small items in the past that I simply walked in and picked out myself but just last week we purchased a Baby Jogger City Mini Zip in prep for our trip to BC at the end of month. We opened up the stroller straight out of the box just this morning only to find that one of the securing snap buttons that connects the seat to the frame was broken. The cap to the button literally hit the floor as we opened it up. I thought oh well no big deal I will just call the store and get them to set aside another one and exchange it next week....I am shocked. I have now just spent all morning on the phone with the manager of the store who supposedly also spoke to the owner of the store which makes this story even more appalling. They informed me that they would not accept a refund and would have to first speak with the Baby Jogger company for next steps as this is Baby Jogger's policy. Yes they were confident it could be resolved relatively quickly, but I was told they may need to just repair the item we have??!?!?!?! Repair the item? I simply want the new item we paid for!! Obviously, we said this was unacceptable and simply wanted to return the item or exchange it for the exact same item so that the store would even still keep our business!!! They would not even entertain the idea of fully replacing the stroller without confirming with the Baby Jogger rep what Baby Jogger could do. I said I would bring the item in next week so they could see the issue in person but they still would not offer any kind of guarantee. They requested a photo and I said I would send one under the assumption that this meant that they would replace the stroller but that I was busy dealing with a sick baby and I explained I did not understand why it mattered since their return policy is 14 days and I was planning to return the item, with the tags on, with original packaging anyway. Horrible customer service and completely unexpected. They even suggested that the fine print on my receipt excluded the situation because returns were for items in 'original condition' only and I guess I can't 100% prove that the item was straight out of the box....I suppose this suggests that we are lying and that this was not the condition in which we received the item....Well after the entire morning having gone by now, Baby Jogger told Lil Niblets that they would only replace the fabric. However, somehow, perhaps with my intense persistence, the store is now giving us a new stroller from their inventory and will get new fabric for the one we have here and rectify the situation themselves with us excluded from the rest of the process....which is all I would have expected in the first place. I suppose they will now resell our stroller once they get new fabric on it (which I wouldn't want in case the item is just defective somehow). So be careful fellow parents! read more

Purchased a dresser and night table for our daughter. Dresser came in ok condition. The night table drawer did not fit in the space that was allotted for it. There was a space of approximately 4mm or more around the entire drawer, and it did not close flush with the frame. The two delivery men agreed that there was clearly something wrong with it and took the drawer out to see if perhaps there was some packaging stuck behind there. Nothing. We refused delivery of the night table and called the store immediately. Spoke with an "Erin" who said that she needed the night table to see what the issue was. This was on Wednesday. Called again on Thursday and was told that they had not yet received it from the delivery company "Careful Delivery". Called again on Friday and spoke with the "manager" named Jeff. He stated that he did not yet receive it and very rudely and curtly cut me off. I had to call again on Friday to ask what was happening and this time spoke with Erin who said that she agreed that the drawer did not close properly, that she was off on the weekend, and would get back to me on Monday. Their delivery form clearly states that we should have use of the furniture until a replacement or repair is made. I told Erin that we needed the night table, that my daughter's things were on the floor and were very disappointed. Also told her that we would NOT under any circumstances accept a "repair" on something that was clearly a manufacturer's defect. She said that she understood. I was clearly being given the run around - long enough for the charge to have cleared on my credit card. I had to call again on Monday and Erin proceeded to tell me that they are trying to "shave the wood at the back of the dresser" so that the drawer would fit. She said that the manufacturer was going to send another drawer. I told her that we will NOT accept that - not a repair, and I would definitely not wait another 5 weeks only to find out that the drawer again does not fit. She called back later that day to tell me that they were successful in "repairing the night table". I said that I did not want a product that had to be altered by the store, that it should have been perfect on delivery and that I wanted a refund. She again put me through to this Jeff person. He stated that there was nothing wrong with the night table. When I asked him why they repaired it if there was nothing wrong, he stated that they repaired it because I told them to - clearly a lie. He also stated that the delivery people said there was nothing wrong with it. Another blatant lie. I told him that I wanted a refund as they were not delivering a new product which was part of our purchase agreement. How was I to know that the "repair" that they haphazardly did to this night table did not impact the integrity of the night table. How did I know that the manufacturer's warranty was not rendered null and void due to the "adjustments" that they made? His response was that he was going to "deliver the night table and be done with you". This is unacceptable and this is not the end of this issue. Customer service is non-existent with these people and THEY ARE CROOKS. read more

We registered here along with BRU, mainly because they carry brands big box stores do not. Most staff are great, helped us out and said hello as soon as we walked in the door. Do not like the blonde woman who I think might manage or own the store. Steer clear of her help, she is aloof and rude. Kept us waiting to cash out and barely looked at us when we were purchasing over $200 worth of product (also having bought our Uppababy there previously). read more

Shoppers beware. Although the exterior is quite cute, the experience and customer service was absolutely horrible. Went to Lil Niblets & Sprouts on avenue to purchase some items for my eight month pregnant self as well as take a few items off my friends registry that I had purchased at Babies r us, however did not want my friend to receive multiples of the item. My first interaction was with an associate by the name of Rochelle. Needless to say Rochelle was of no help and proceeded to tell me that the person I need to speak with is Anna, the associate responsible for registry items. After waiting for Anna to assist me I was rudely told that Rochelle was right and that there was nothing they could do in regards to taking the items off the registry. Laughable as this is already I asked to speak to the manager in charge. After waiting for another 10 minutes while Anna had disappeared into the back room to find the manager, out came Christina, guns a blazing, extremely rude and a 1 on the customer service level to tell me that since I didn't purchase the item at Lil Niblets I could not remove them from the registry, mark it purchased, make a note on account or anything. After explaining that I realized I have bought the items at babies r us , however did not want my friend to get multiples, she suggested that I tell my friend what I bought, so she could call herself and take it off her registry...after putting me in my place Christina proceeded to walk away yelling "have a great day" in the most condescending tone (did I mention that the store was full of customers). I asked who she was at that time and to my surprise found out she was in fact the store manager, "yikes"... needless to say this made me furious. I asked Christina why she was yelling at me in front of customers in store and told her that the service experience she was providing was absolutely horrible. In her lovely tone she said that the owner was in and if I wanted to speak to him I could. So there I was waiting for lil nibblets owner Jeff Ross to come out and deal with this extremely minute situation that 3 levels of his management team weren't competent to deal with, he proceeds to tell his associate that he is busy doing something outside and can't come to the front. "Are you kidding me Jeff Ross"... No wonder small business's seldom make it. Word to the wise, do yourself a favour and go anywhere else for your baby needs unless you feel like going into early labour. Shame on you Jeff Ross and Lil Niblets & Sprouts for making shopping in your store such a horrible experience. I will never be back or refer anyone to your establishment. Great selection, prices, large size store uptown. We are low maintenance and quickly decided which glider and ottoman we wanted. The associate was fairly efficient at drawing up the paperwork but needed some help from an additional associate for the order/receipt/delivery arrangements. The Dutailier chair arrived about 1 month earlier than they had quoted (8-10 weeks) but likely because Dutailier worked on it quickly, which was a nice surprise. Prices were cheaper for the chair here than Macklems so I was happy. Much bigger store, has bathroom for frequent urination of pregnancy(!) and display of chairs and strollers than Ella + Elliot or Macklems. For online ordering and sale prices for smaller items, I like WestCoast Kids and Snugglebugz (faster than WCK). read more

There are a lot of great products in this store - although most are overpriced. Even then - I have no problem paying more for anything - as long as it is accompanied by great service. That is where this store fails on every level. While there is one lady who is extremely professional, the rest of the staff there are unappreciative of their customers, slow, and horribly unprofessional. What is the point in selling great products when I keep leaving them at the front counter because their staff cannot seem to check people out in a timely fashion. My time is too valuable to spend it at the checkout line of this store. Thankfully 'Moms To Be' has just as good products if not better - AND- treats their customers with respect. read more

Registry Buyers Beware!! I ordered/paid for an online registered baby shower gift. Prior to picking up the gift ordered i contacted the store to confirm if they had it in stock; to my surprise when I stopped in to pickup the product the store manager told me they no longer had it in the store! If this wasn't bad enough the cashier told me they were unsure when or if they would receive the product ordered again. No apologies or alternative were offered by the clerk. Overall a very disappointing experience. read more

We heard great things about this store. It has been extremely frustrating dealing with them. We bought a crib which was suppose to be expedited for us. We didn't hear back from them for several weeks after leaving voicemails and talking to people at the store that said they didn't have access to furniture shipping. We finally spoke to the correct person who said the shipping company would follow-up with us and after several weeks, we again didn't hear back from them. We had to finally get in touch with the owner, who was helpful and we eventually drove up to their warehouse to pick it up - just to be done with it all. That's just the beginning. We registered there as well and all of the gifts purchased more than a month ago has YET to be shipped. Someone needs to seriously step in at the store and figure out why everything is falling apart at the store. I would not recommend this store to anyone right now. read more

I was looking for a specific stroller in a particular colour and called this place to see if they had what I needed. The lady I spoke with over the phone did some checks on the computer and said they have what I was looking for. I told her I was heading over straight away, not asking to put items on hold or anything like that. When I got there, I went straight to the stroller section and was greeted by an associate (not the same one who helped me over the phone) and asked if there was anything she could help me with. As soon as I mentioned the stroller, she asked if I was the person who called in earlier that day. I said yes. She redirected me to another associate, I guess she was the "stroller lady", who also heard about me calling about the stroller earlier. I was given a 101 on the stroller and before she proceeded with further information (so as not to waste anyone's time), she had asked me questions to make sure this stroller suited my family and our needs. This stroller is probably one of the most expensive ones in the market and she could've easily sold it to me to boost their sales. I was very impressed that she didn't take advantage and made sure that I was purchasing it for the right reasons. She then explained everything I needed to know and more about the stroller, plus giving me the opportunity to try out while she grabbed my items (which they had put aside for me without me even asking!). The customer service in the store is phenomenal! Even though I thought I had made a thorough research, the information I was given by the associate was super helpful. The check out process went smoothly and someone even helped me load boxes in the car. Will definitely come back to this store! read more
