We have sent both of our boys to LPW (North Seattle). They are large enough that you get the benefits of the systems of a center but small enough that they clearly know your child as an individual. Knowing that they are safe and loved has made it possible for us to go back to work with peace of mind. We have been so impressed with all of the staff and have loved the teachers. The center has clear procedures that help ensure that the needs of each child are met. There also is a nice balance of play and (age-appropriate) structure. They have been great about adjusting to the challenges presented by COVID-19, balancing compliance with the regulations, ensuring the safety of children and employees and continuing to provide fun, enrichment and security to the kids. read more

My son currently attends this center and I am in the process of looking for a new child care. I feel the assistant manager and director are acting unprofessionally. I see this also with towards other parents and kids. On numerous occasions when I have had a question, the assistant manager is watching UTube on the computer or texting on her phone and seems disconnected from my questions, and I find I have to repeat myself to get the information across. The director seems to be distracted by multiple things other than my concern or question which I bring to her attention. Today I had enough. My son will not be going back. A faculty member of the school ( not even my kids classroom teacher) flipped me off & not only that her husband rolled down his car window and said that if I wasn't a mother I would be on the cement. This teacher is not what you would ever want for your child to be around. She is a huge liability to the school and they have not taken any action, and keep her there. Bullying & hostile environment & doesn't make you feel safe with your kid. I would never recommend this place to anyone anymore sadly. Incompetent and unprofessional management. Most of the teachers are actually decent, but they do not stay long because of how they are treated by the management and/or they do not feel comfortable with the management's way of running business. One day I was informed by one of the teachers that she had gotten in trouble with the management when she gave organic milk to kids because nonorganic milk was way passed expiration date (I thanked this teacher of course). Another teacher who is no longer working here told me that she was not allowed to leave when she had 103 degrees fever due to coverage issues. I have been asked by several teachers to be their reference as they left for better jobs, and I will continue to do so for other teachers. They deserve better and so do the kids. I am happy and relieved that my child no longer attends this daycare. read more

We love Lil' People's World! My 19-month-old son has been at this daycare since he was 12 weeks old and the staff of Lil' People's World has become like a second family to us. Every morning he says "skoo" (we call it school) when he wakes up and we are greeted with big smiles and hellos every time we walk in. The classrooms have structured play, art projects, reading time, outside time and free play. We love how focused each room is on providing activities that are age appropriate and we usually end up mimicking a lot of what they do at school at home. We've had very little trouble with separation anxiety and his personality has become so outgoing and I give a lot of credit to Lil' People's World for that. Teachers from other classrooms have taken time to get to know him. He loves it there and we've always felt real care and support from the staff. Four of my grandchildren participate in Lil' Peoples World north Seattle, and I love the fact they integrate creative, expressive art projects with the curriculum. The building and play areas are also inviting, open, and creative...a far cry from centers I've worked with in my 30-year history as a parent of 6 and grandparent to 8! We sent our daughter here when she was an infant. I think the scarcity of infant care in Seattle allows for poor care. While the lead teachers seemed to care about the children, the floating teachers and assistant teachers never seemed to care that much. On multiple occasions, my daughter was not fed because "she's so quiet, we just forget". Which is not an acceptable excuse to me. This was also frustrating as I was pumping and the milk would be taken out and then not given to her and I would have to toss it and feed her myself. Anyone who's tried to keep up a pumping supply understands how awful it is to throw away a whole bottle that you child wanted. When our daughter started eating, we asked the center not to feed her apples as I have a severe allergy. One day we got a call that she had been fed apples. I don't know if that was an issue with communication or staff not caring, but needless to say, it made me very nervous. The worst part is that since there are so few infant care centers in Seattle, we couldn't leave until she was a year old and we could find toddler care for her. read more

so, to try and make this short i've been dealing with issues with the same family and girls for MONTHS now. the daycare has continuously allowed this 11 year old girl and her two sister (ages about 7-10) to physically and verbally bully my 5 and 6 year old daughters all from calling them out their name, chasing them with scissors to hitting and scratching. before anyone says we'll change their daycare, as a single mother to 3 kids working full time during a pandemic it's not easy to change daycares and i have tried working with the directors and GM and absolutely nothing had changed. i made the decision months ago to keep them home whenever i can with family but unfortunately that wasn't able to be a full time solution. after MONTHS of dealing with issues from this family and being told "were working with them" yesterday i decided to speak to the mother myself. things did not get physical what so ever, i admit i did raise my voice a bit after she completely turned it on my daughter, denied everything and allowed her child to be disrespectful to me. although i have many reports. not a single employee spoke to me after this incident but i got an email at about 8 pm last night that my daughters are immediately terminated from the center. This all started on Monday when my 6 yr old notified me this 11 year old girl slapped my 5 year old and her sister pushed her to the floor where she hit her head. She told me both my daughter and this girl were put in quiet time as a consequence. I was not notified by the facility. I immediately spoke to them to figure out what happened. Two days later they wrote a report. The teacher states he had no clue this girl slapped my kid but you can see in the report i've attached he stated "he wasn't sure about that specific incident but he did not write a report because he had handled it" HOW DO U HANDLE SOMETHING YOURE NOT AWARE OF?! AND no matter if you've handled it or not a written report is required policy when one child physically hits another!!! Yesterday i was called to pick my 5 yr old up because she punched this girl. on the incident report it states the incident occurred at 10:20 am, they did not call me until 12:22 pm. so why did you do with my daughter for 2 hours?! get your stories straight because my oldest told me this did NOT occur while she was in the bathroom, she was in the class. she stated the girl took her water bottle and held it away from her taunting her. my 5 yr old noticed her sister trying to get it back and defended her sister. Which completely contradicts the story they tried to tell me which you can hear in the video i have. I am not excusing her actions, physical violence at this point was unnecessary and i fully acknowledge that but my daughter has had it with this girls targeted bullying. my 5 yr old never had a single incident in her previous classroom but now she is the youngest in a classroom with children ranging from 5-11 and clearly is being picked on and they're allowing it and constantly writing reports saying my daughter is just lashing out constantly unprovoked. my 5 yr old is on the spectrum and they're using this to say because she has difficulty articulating her words that she's extremely violent. she has never displayed extremely violent behavior. she has spent her whole life in other daycare facilities without issues and always has been around other children. she is quiet and likes to stick to herself or her sister. when she is picked at and triggered only then does she physically react back. this facility has TWO open cps investigations for negligence with my daughters. about a month ago my youngest (then 11 months) they called my aunt, didn't even call ME who is 3 minutes away and told her my daughter had a SEIZURE. i call them while i'm rushing there to see if the ambulance had picked her up yet and where they were taking her. they stayed they did not call and ambulance and decided to leave it up to me. i told them to CALL NOW. when i got there they told the ambulance kennedy slipped on her socks (she NEVER takes her shoes off, which they claim she did) and fell, hit her head and fainted. this is also what they told Seattle childrens when they called to get the story straight. either way my daughter was 11 months. a head injury so bad she faints or seizes ambulance should've been notified!! DO NOT send your kids to this facility. the director has had an attitude with me since day one when i told her i am a single mother. i have received backlash and mistreatment for this reason many times before but i will NEVER allow it to fall on my babies. Although bringing a stressful situation on me i am relived my daughters are not there anymore and thankful for my support system to help me get care for them while i work. read more

We explored a few day cares's in the area and really loved the bright light, colors and enthusiastic staff. Now that we have been there for 2 years we really love those qualities and more such as the activities and cleanliness. My son has been attending this Child Care center for over a year now and he loves it! Everyone here is super nice and they all know who my son is. When I started my search for daycare I was not really impressed by the options. And then I came across Lil' Peoples World! As soon as I stepped inside I knew I would feel at ease sending my little man here. The atmosphere is relaxed, clean and friendly. He has had great teachers here and I can see they genuinely love all the children. They have a great curriculum and do a lot of art and activities with the kids. read more

My son attended this day care center years ago and it was an awful experience. First, like the other reviewer, I was told things to get my business, only to have regret soooo much shortly after that. I had seen many questionable and unsafe things all along. One day the room where my son (then 17 months of age) was placed, was filled with paper staples tangled into the carpet, I was shocked and after I pointed the problem with the child caregiver, she casually said it has been there from creating a new art pannel on the wall and it poses no threat to a child???? Go figure what can happen if a child swallows just one staple???? Goes into their little feet??? They were also giving children of a very young age to work and use scissors explaining that it is good for them to develop their motor skills at a young age???? One day as I was picking up my son while playing on the playground, a childcare caregiver (teacher) was very unhappy. I asked her to why she is unhappy, she stressed that her supervisor made her come to work (with children) despite having a strep throat (she even showed it to me)...it was true, the poor woman had a terrible pus in her throat. Yikes!!! They charged an arm and leg without even providing any meals (I do not remember if they even provided snacks for the amount they charged). Also, everything about the place seemed like a money maker: "If you lost the fob key, that will cost you $30 dollars, if you are late that will cost you $$$$...." So I see that after they "earn" enough bad ratings, they salvage them selves by changing the name of the childcare cneter. The place used to be called Haller Lake Children's Center (I am sure that's what it used to be)... Shocking how thing can be ran and allowed to be ran. This place is AMAZING! I'm pretty sure the other reviewer is a disgruntled employee because certain details are not factual, which would take too much time to explain. My personal experience has been stellar. It's hard to leave your kids, but I feel a little better every time I just enter the building. All the staff are amicable and eager to attend to my concerns. The environment is bright and open, gorgeous actually. Their educational programs truly are that, educational, not just a slogan. There are no t.v.'s in the entire building. Most the food is organic and selected by a very well-trained nutritionist. My daughter truly enjoys her classmates and teachers, which have practically become family. The teachers stay and the kids stay, which in and of itself says a lot. I may be a working mom unable to give all the attention I would like, but I know she has a consistent routine comprised of well researched, beneficial, and thought-out activities. These girls really dedicate their lives to children's development every day, 100%. There is a new theme every week, with an ever changing assortment of intricate and creative decorations to match. But what I really care about is the structure I know my daughter thrives in. Compared to similar daycares in Seattle, it really is a steal for what you get. The ratios seem just right for the most part. Even the infants get their recommended time outdoors (being pushed around in strollers carrying six each). SO CUTE! Cloth diapers? No prob. Breast milk? No prob. WCCC? they do that too. I'm sure almost every kind of parent would feel lucky to have a spot here. read more

Our daughter has gone to LPW Seattle for 3 years now. She has developed great relationships with many of her teachers and the support staff. The teachers genuinely like what they do and it shows. As our daughter has gotten older the structure and learning opportunities within the classes have increased- she loves to tell us each day the things she has learned. It's not easy leaving your little one when you head off to work, but I trust she is in good hands. The fact that all meals and snacks are provided is also a bonus. read more

I had my 1 year old son at this place for only two months. There were definitely some red flags, but it seemed overall fine because I didn't have anything to compare it to. He would cry when I brought him even after he had been going there for a whole month and when I would pick him up in the middle of outdoor play on numerous occasions there were other children that were crying, sometimes uncontrollably, without an adult comforting them. The teachers were also outside but just ignoring these kids. Although, I have to say that Eve was a very good teacher and I think she did all she could to meet the needs of the children. It was the other teachers that seemed indifferent, like there just wasn't the interest to go the extra mile to help individual children and crying just became normal background noise. Anyway, we started taking our son to Northwest Center in Greenwood and that's how we realized that Lil' People's World is definitely lacking in comparison. It's possible that I am reading this daycare wrong since our son was there such a short time, but as a parent that looks for recommendations in order to decide who I can trust with the care of my child, I wouldn't recommend this place to other parents. read more

My child attended this center and we had a very unpleasant experience. There were times when I would pick up my daughter and would notice another child with her binky in their mouth. On another occasion her father had picked her up and the young lady was mopping the floor while my child walked around barefoot in a freezing cold room. Not to mention in the year she was at this place I constantly had to miss work because she had ear infections (7 total!) she also had hand-foot and mouth disease that was being spread around (twice). My last straw was my child being completely scratched up so close to her eye by another child. I will never return to this place nor recommend it to anyone! Might I add I did notice on some occasions some of the staff being sick and not able to go home because of lack of coverage (this being said from the young lady watching my child). So I would have to agree with one of the reviewers of this matter. read more
