As terrible as it was for me his mom, I was at peace because I knew that he was in good hands with the best! After all, this wasn't our first visit or medical treatment that was given attention by Dr. Okafor. I had to meet with her fill in vet Dr. Lewis that covers her practice when she is out of office. He too, gave exceptional service, took the same time Dr. Okafor takes with her fur clients, and explained and answered all questions related to Gizmos diabetes and all involved in admi as his insulin injections. I could keep go on and on with how grateful, appreciative, and comforted I feel with Dr. Okafor and her staff! I took my two cats here on recommendation of neighbor. The vet was cold and terse. She barely looked at either cat. She just ordered blood and urine tests. When one cat came back with a serious problem she again was terse and unfriendly. I've never had a vet that lacking in compassion. The whole operation there is disorganized and would b missing notes, supplies, and did not communicate well with vet. I took my kitty to another vet who looked st same test results and immediately identified another problem the first vet had missed. With appropriate care this kitty is doing well. The other kitty had good test results but the first vet had told us they could both eat the prescription food. I learned from my new vet that this was not safe for the healthy cat. One more error. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Lili Veterinary Hospital and their staff!! I frantically called them this past Friday needing an appointment for my newly adopted kitten who was very sick. They were able to see us that very afternoon. The young woman working at the front was so kind and compassionate. I was quickly ushered into a room with Nala, and immediately the vet tech got to work examining her. She too was so very kind. She returned within minutes with Dr. Okafor. Dr. Okafor explained what diagnostic tests she wanted to perform so we could determine what was going on. I signed off on the treatment plan, which was hundreds of dollars less than another vet I had contacted, and left to grab something to eat. Upon arriving back, we were placed directly into an exam room and immediately Dr. O returned. She so very graciously and thoroughly explained what she believed was wrong with our sweet girl. She delivered really horrible news in such a compassionate way. She also suggested that a radiologist review her scans to confirm the diagnosis. She agreed that we would start on a treatment plan to try to save Nala while we awaited the news from the radiologist. This included two antibiotic shots, an anti nausea shot, as well as two aspirations of fluid from Nala's belly. She was very much real with me about her prognosis, but shared in my hope that maybe this was something different altogether. We checked out and went home to await their follow up call. I received a call the next morning from one of the staff explaining that one of her test results was available and that everything was normal. I was assured that I would receive another call once they had the radiology report. Not even an hour later, Dr. O called me herself to explain that the radiologist had diagnosed Nala with feline pneumonia instead of the suspected FIP. This was such a relief as FIP would have been fatal. She assured me that the treatments she received the day before would protect her until Monday. I have a follow up tomorrow morning where Dr. O will check Nala out and we will determine her continuing care medications. I cannot thank Dr. O and her staff enough for literally saving Nala's life. We had only adopted her 6 days prior and she came to us sick from Animal Defense League. I will forever be indebted to y'all. You now have a customer for life!! read more

The staff there was great and friendly! I was a walk-in and they tended to my pet right away ( they do see appointments first , but they got me in quickly ) , from there they sent me to a room and one of the assistants examined my her (Nick was his name I believe), he was great and understanding that she was a bit nervous. Afterwards they got back the analysis and Dr. Okafor came in, she checked my pet and looked at the problem , she explained very throughly what it was and how to remedy the situation. From there Nick came back and applied the treatment and off I went . I love this place, my dog loves this place. My little dog was struggling with some real skin issues last year and the vet I went to near my old home tried a lot of things and never found the issue. I went to Dr. Okafor one time and she found the issue. She is thorough and amazing. read more

I added a star because my first initial visit the vet's assistant was very kind, but the vet was another vet subbing in for the usual vet and was just okay. I had been to a 24 hour emergency vet prior for my cat, who assessed my cat and diagnosed her appropriately with a mammary tumor- without an aspirate. She however, recommended I go to a different practice that isn't an emergency vet because it wasn't truly an emergency and my cat had at least a month or so before it became an immediate problem, and a normal practice would probably charge me less. So I came here, the last vet we took her to went out of business so it was my first time with this practice. After doing an aspirate of my cat they told me she did not have cancer- she just had a cyst, and they drained it but they'd have to do surgery to remove it entirely. Totally cool with me! We sent in bloodwork since she's an elderly cat (additional cost), and even sent the sample they took to a lab to guarantee the she did not have cancer cells somewhere in there. This is where things go wrong. I had to leave the state to graduate college (I went to school in NY, but I was visiting family here when I took her). My cat is usually in the care of my mom and my brother, who brought her to surgery. The office repeatedly called me to give me care instructions when I asked that it be noted that my mom is taking care of her, but whoever at the front did not make a note of that, and called me over and over to explain things that should be being explained to my mom- who's phone number I repeatedly provided and asked that they call her for any post-surgery related information. However I am glad that they did call me during the surgery to explain that she had an infected tooth. They wanted to pull it while she was still under anesthesia. Made sense, but I asked what the additional cost would be and it was a LOT. Way more than the estimates I found google searching what the cost should be, and she was already under anesthesia. I didn't want to cause my cat additional after surgery pain, so I said I'd take her somewhere to do it another time (I did) the cost to just to pull was just too exorbitant, and it wasn't a life threatening issue. Here's where they didn't call me during the surgery. During the surgery they did discover cancerous cells where the cyst was. I get it if it didn't show up in a lab. But if you find what I originally brought her in for during the surgery- but you called me about the infected tooth, I expect you to tell me promptly. Not a WEEK later, at the follow up appointment with my mom. Where you make it sound like she IMMEDIATELY needs a SECOND surgery to get rid of the mass. She's an older cat, you want me to put her under TWICE to remove what you should have removed the first time? The vet told me herself that she needed bloodwork to prove she was healthy before putting her under just once- because she's an older cat. You want to put her under a second time- while she's only a week into recovery, and again, at an INSANELY high cost? I will pay a lot to make sure my cat is healthy and happy- I will not be emotionally manipulated (or my mom emotionally manipulated) into multiple surgeries when you've already proved to me that YOU CAN call me during the surgery- to tell me about a tooth, but not cancer. Cancer that I was INITIALLY warned of and advised to look into by another vet. Furthermore, how can you, as a vet, see something life threatening during a surgery, know that it was the initial reason that patient was brought in, and confidently sew her up with the cancer still there, AND not tell the caretaker that it's there until a week later at the follow up. But you CAN call her about a tooth. My mom was crying when she left the follow up appointment- and she's not a crier. She thought by the way these people were talking that my cat was going to die. She is currently happy at home, in recovery. On the advice of another vet we are waiting until she is fully healed to even consider another surgery, and even then she has many many months before it would affect her quality of life. She has time to recover before going under again, and we are not coming back here to do it. There is a reason there are SO many appointments available here. Even at my first initial visit- they said they hadn't had any appointments all day and asked if I could come in earlier. I said no, because my brother is at school with our car, and I won't have a way to get her there until later. They continued to be pushy about it too- wanted to leave early that day I guess. Overall this clinic is ok. The first time we took our pup for neuter procedure, I have to say my pup looked like he had seen better days. The bill was expensive and my concern was that the final bill was much more than the first one they showed me before the procedure, there wasn't any complications and they wouldn't explain why it was more. The employees even gave me an attitude when I was going to buy a onesie which they didn't have in puppy sizes. After this we stopped going here. Then when we got our 2nd pup about two years later, so we decided to give it another try. This time our pup needed a spay procedure. It was expansive but thankfully there wasn't any additional fees. Our pup looked better too in comparison to our other pup. I have to say that some of the staff hasn't been the greatest at this place in all the visits we had. There have been situations where the employees are clueless to information they should know about. I have called to make appointments and when I have showed up they tell me I don't have an appointment scheduled at all. The latest is how one employee we gave us an attitude for wanting to know more about the well pet health plans. I had been thinking about getting a plan for a while, finally one day I called the hospital and asked them about it. The girl on the line said she didn't know so she put another girl on the phone. She said the plans were based on the pups age and weight for pricing and that it was best to go in to sign the paperwork. I went by that day before closing and the staff were all gather at the front for the last minutes to close. When they see me come in, they were in wonder pretty much. I told them I was there to sign the paperwork for the plans and none of them knew what was I talking about. I saw one of the flyers they have at the front about the plans and showed it to them and they were still clueless. One of them finally said that the girl in charge of it had left already and usually leaves around 4 or 5pm. I wish I had been told that when I was on that phone with them earlier that day. I finally went back a week later and they told me that the age and weight didn't matter that I needed to chose a plan based on what benefits I wanted and the rate was the same for both of my pets. Totally different information from the girl I spoke to the very first time. Then, they couldn't tell me detailed information about the radiographs cover in the platinum plan. We celebrated one of our pups birthdays this month and with that she has a wellness visit. All went well, the technician was explain and told us what the plan cover. Then they told us she needed her teeth cleaned. We scheduled an appointment and that day we did everything as asked. We checked her in and they showed us the receipt listing everything and pricing. I saw the radiograph wasn't covered and we asked about it. The employee just said our plan didn't cover it and that was that. So we left and waited until they were done and our pet was ready to pick her up and pay. While we waited I called the the well pet health plan client service, I was told that in fact my plan did cover radiographs. Any radiograph; one per contract with two views. The representative advised me to speak with the doctor to find out more about it. When we got there and told us the amount to be paid, I told them what the representative had told me. The employee then said she we had to speak to another employee, she came out front the back and her first reaction and words were "oh you again". It made my blood boil for sure. That type of attitude and way of talking to a customer is a total NO, it was so disrespectful! I only said yes, that we still had questions and repeated myself about talking with a representative. She then said what she thought of the radiographs, in her opinion the only radiographs that are cover by the plan are the body but not the mouth. Why a customer is going to want an opinion? I want facts! I want to know the employees are knowledgeable about what is their field and subject in that hospital. She then went and 'asked' the doctor (I really don't know if she did) came back and said that dental radiographs aren't cover only other radiographs. That it has to do with the doctor's contract with the well pet health plan. We said how come this is not shared with us the customers who are signing contracts and paying each month. No one said anything. We paid and left. This is the reason I am writing this review. It is extremely important for all of you who work there to know about what you do. I as a customer have the right to ask as many questions so I can decide what's best for me and my pets. In the end I am the one paying for everything. I am pretty sure every person regardless wants to know before hand what it is what we are paying for before committing to it. Lastly, you need to work in your attitude and way of speaking. Dr. O, Mandy and our vet tech were incredibly kind and professional as we had an emergency with our old dog. We had no history with the hospital BUT they took us in first thing in the morning. From the first call, we were greeted warmly and throughout the process of having to put our sweet pup down we were well informed of his condition, given options and comforted when the decision had to be made. Today February 17, 2021 i had an appointment at 2.30pm. I initially called to book it and find out more about this place but no one answered or i could not even leave a voice message. I went ahead and got on their website and booked my sppointment. After booking my appointment i received a confirmation text saying i was SCHEDULED FOR TODAY AT 2.30PM. As i arrived to the location around 2.20pm. The place was closed. Of course i had my cat "sick" in the car wiyh me. When i was there i called 3 times and still no one answered or got back to me. You better take your bank statement with you when you make your appointment with this office. We took our baby to them when he got sick and we were short on money at the time between paydays and they basically just let him die. I make good money at my job but we were making due on one income since my husband lost his job, so between paydays is rough, but we would have signed over my entire check the following week or gave them a portion out of every check for whatever period they asked...to them if they would have helped our dog, who was our baby since we don't have kids. We would have gone without anything to keep our boy alive. The vet told us he had pneumonia, but only gave him very basic treatment because we told them our financial situation. We asked them if they could work with us, so we weren't trying to get out of paying any of the bills, we just wanted to save our boy. We were told they never do that, were given antibiotics to take home and he was dead two days later. We called them the day after we were seen and told them he was worse....he died early the next day on Saturday morning. Talking to other people since then it sounded as if he was in congestive heart failure or had flash pulmonary edema. Even when we took him down to the office for them to arrange cremation, they stated that if we had the money they could have done more. They can try to point their fingers at us for not having the money on hand, but we would have made any kind of arrangement to get them paid so that they would give him the care that he needed when he got sick. The only reason they chose to open this clinic in Stone Oak is because they wanted to be in a neighborhood where they thought most people have money. But a lot of people are like us with all the job layoffs etc that we have to budget one income. We live in a very nice neighborhood and pay well to live here, but on one income we have to budget our expenses, but these people didn't care at all. If this had been a human it's not the like the hospital would have sent home a very sick person, stating that "sorry you don't have the money on you right now, we can't help you, go home and die". But that's exactly what this office did to our baby. I'm sure that they will point their fingers at us stating they don't do charity. Well we certainly didn't ask for that, we asked for them do whatever it took to save our boy and they'll get paid, and their response was "no, we don't do that". We would have sold stuff, gotten a loan, given them anything they needed on payday, but no, that wasn't good enough. Cash on hand or forget it!! We treated him as our child. I'm sure they still feel all high and mighty in their position that they don't work for free, and they did the best they could since we were "poor" but we at no point asked them to do that!! It's instant payment or no care!! Period!! They were for the most part very unfeeling, one of the vet techs didn't even say a word when we took him to be cremated, she just stood there looking angry because she had to help get him out of the vehicle. No sympathy at all. The vet tried to be sympathetic and was "sorry" but again stressed that we didn't have the money at the time for his care, so basically tried to blame us for his death. The receptionist was nice, but she didn't have anything to do with his care. Horrible experience!! We certainly will never go back there whether I've got a million dollars in my bank account at the time or not. He was only 2 years old and would have been 3 in 3 weeks. Nothing they say could possibly make up for losing him or make them sound less snobbish. He was a full blooded Doberman from a very reputable breeder, he was always healthy. This place is a rip off and will take you for as much money as they think they can get. My dog was throwing up and for them to examine him and give a few meds I dropped $850 and they didn't do any procedures. Any other vet it would have been maybe $150 but with Coronavirus I went to first place by the house. They saw me coming a mile away, I was still grieving from losing a dog a month ago so I was in fear of losing this dog I, the dr played on my fear and love for my dog to push me into unnecessary tests and x-rays that ran my bill close to $1,000. My dog had just started getting sick that day.The Dr. looked at me like I was an atm and she pulled out as money as she could and wanted me to return the next day and repeat the expensive tests even if he was feeling batter. Never been so ripped of and hustled and taking advantage of in my life. Banfield Pet Hospital it would have been 1/4 of what I was charged here. This place Lili is very predatory and took me for close to 1,000 and wanted to run up the bill the next day even if my dog was better. I think the other reviews are by people that think that something is better because they paid double or are the vet's friends, family, and coworkers who put in the review to get a higher rating. During the Corona Virus taking advantage of customers you guys should be ashamed. I guess you guys got my stimulus money. Because stimulas money came and they knew people had money so they hustled as much out of me as they could. I am on disability and they almost took my whole disability check, with out doing any real work but some labs and xrays and prescribed some meds. A disappointing experience. My dog had been chewing on his paw so I thought I should take him and my other pup in. I should have known this place was a problem when they were the only vet with multiple appoints available unlike some recommended vets. I got a 230 appointment and didn't see the vet until 330. The assistant was the ONLY shining star in the place. This is probably why they made her show me the charges prior to working on the dogs. They wanted to run a battery of tests that was 500.00 and that didn't include the real reason I was there. The Dr kept telling me my dogs paw was from Allergies. I had to argue with her since he obviously had a wound in his paw. After 2 hours I finally get to the counter to pay and I have the yelp coupon. My bill was now 300.00 and the coupon says 10% off however it doesn't state only on the Doctors exam which equaled to 4.95 per dog. A whopping 10.00 instead of the 30.00 on Yelp. I will be visiting another Vet. Bad enough they tried to upset me and didn't honor the coupon but to make me wait an hour for the vet on top of this was completely unacceptable. 2 stars only for the vet technician. read more

I am new to the area and have a pet on fluid therapy. I unfortunately was running very low after I accidentally left a bag of fluids open. I called my vet, and because of my distance from them, they suggested I go to a human pharmacy, or another vet clinic and they would call in the prescription for me. I went to this vet clinic, as it is close to my home now, and am looking for another vet closer to my new location and thought this would be a good opportunity to check them out. They would not allow my vet to call in a prescription to them! Not a big deal, I just went to the pharmacy next door and had my vet call the prescription in there. However, I will not be returning or considering this place for any of my future vet needs. To me this experience speaks volumes about the character of this place of business. Dr. O and her staff are absolutely exceptional. Our fur baby needed stitches during our moving out of town and Lili Vet were very understanding of our time crunch as well as the severity of our dog's injuries.
