Okay so this is one of those NY spots that are impossible to get a reservation at and luckily my roommate had Amex get one for us. We arrived at Lilia and the waiter was pressuring us to order and when we said we wanted three pastas he suggested getting something grilled instead, which was fine but throughout dinner he continued to overstep which took away from the experience. We started with the appetizers which were AMAZING, both the cacio e pepe fritelle and focaccia with sage butter were so unique and tasted spectacular. Then we got our three pastas: Mafaldini- loved the texture of the pasta but the actual taste was underwhelming and didn't taste like much. Ricotta gnocchi- we love gnocchi and pesto but again the taste wasn't really there and the texture of the gnocchi was harder and not chewy, kind of like cheese Sheep's milk filled agnolotti- the most unique of the three, the cheese inside was super soft and melts into your mouth, the honey taste on the outside made it sweet yet savory with the cheese. This would be my favorite of the three but wasn't to die for. And for the desserts we got the olive oil ice cream which the waiter comped bc he wanted us to try it with the apple dessert, which we liked much more. Overall I'd say it's worth trying but not if you have to go through a lot for a reservation. read more

The experience and service was absolutely phenomenal. The food -------- unfortunately, was a little bit behind. I wanted to love the food so much at Lilia, but there were ups and downs throughout what we ordered. If you have never been to Lilia, then you should be warned that snagging a resy at this Missy Robbin's JBF winner is as tough as it gets. Reservations open up 30 days in advance, at 10am, via phone, and calling within the first 10 minutes is really your absolute best chance of landing that golden ticket of a table. Any procrastinating beyond that and you're pretty much out of luck. I was lucky enough to secure a 5:45 early Saturday evening reservation for my wife's birthday dinner and, as I said, the hospitality was PHENOMENAL. We were treated like royalty by the staff from the moment we walked in. It probably had everything to do with the fact that I had mentioned that this was a very special birthday for my wife. Since it was our very 1st time at Lilia, we held nothing back, went all out and, in the end, definitely over ordered. The menu is broken up into 6 sections - Cocktail Snacks, To Start, Little Fish, Big Fish, Pasta and Meat. Having researched the living daylights out of the menu, we were ready for the experience of a lifetime and ordered numerous dishes, including what was deemed the best of the best on the menu. Here's some quick thoughts - some positive, some not so much: CACIO E PEPE FRITELLE - This order of fried cheese balls came in 3. They were much bigger than I anticipated and were really crispy and cheesy. Honestly, to many, this is probably going to be nothing more than a fried cheese ball, but it's a solid starter. ROASTED TRUMPET MUSHROOMS, ARUGULA, BALSAMIC, SICILIAN ALMONDS - The mushrooms were sliced thin and spread out over a plate with arugala scattered around. It wasn't what I envisioned and it was served with a lot of balsamic drizzled on top. For some, the vinegar might be overwhelming, but for us, the more the better! The mushrooms were good and the balsamic definitely helped. ROASTED SQUASH, THYME, BREADCRUMBS, CORIANDER VINAIGRETTE - The pieces of squash were sliced into a boomerang shape. I can't believe I'm complaining there was too much food, but there was too much squash for an appetizer. Sprinkled all over the plate were breadcrumbs. The squash's texture was different and something we had never tried before. It had a taro/potato texture to it. It was good, but it filled us up. Word of advice - they do doggy bags. GRILLED CLAMS, CALABRIAN CHILI, BREADCRUMBS - Rather disappointing. If I can say bluntly, it literally tasted like some grilled clams with breadcrumbs and not much else. We prefer baked clams because grilled clams lack flavor and these clams did. MAFALDINI, PINK PEPPERCORN, PARMIGIANO - The mafaldini pasta was quite unique in that the pieces were LONG. Everytime we dug into the bowl for a piece, it was neverending. The pasta's lone flavor came from the peppercorn, but it wasn't great. It just tasted salty. RICOTTA GNOCCHI, BROCCOLI PESTO, BASIL, PISTACHIOS - Probably our favorite pasta out of the 3 we ordered. The gnocchi was a bit too al dente. The pesto and basil provided a tang flavor to the pasta and it was actually good. SHEEPS MILK CHEESE FILLED AGNOLOTTI, SAFFRON, DRIED TOMATO, HONEY - If you're into soft cheeses, this is going to be your favorite. For me, the milk cheese was too soft, to the point it was liquidity. I kind of knew what I was getting into when we ordered it, so it was bound to not be on my favorites' list. BLACK BASS, SALSA VERDE, COAL ROASTED YUKON GOLD POTATOES - The BEST dish of the evening - by far. The bass was so flavorful and tender. It was perfect. It sat on top of a lump of potatoes, which looked like a giant rock in the dark, but it was delicious. Unfortunately, by the time we reached this dish, we were beyond full. OLIVE OIL CAKE - One of the must order desserts, according to many, but it was ok. The cake was dense and on the dry side. It was served with a mountain of thick whipped cream. VANILLA SOFT SERVE - So here is the biggest mistake of the evening for us. Instead of ordering the famed Italian Job, we ordered plain ol' vanilla soft serve with a few toppings. Unfortunately, the toppings overwhelmed the soft serve ice cream. If we stuck to the Italian Job, which was simply vanilla soft serve with olive oil, we probably would have loved it. As I said, the staff was amazing. The waiters, waitresses and, a gentleman we presumed to be possibly someone in charge, were so informative of the menu and accommodating. They were friendly x 100. In fact, they were kind enough to get the executive chef to sign our menu and the ENTIRE cooking staff to stop what they were doing and take a photo with us before we left. Even though we were disappointed with some of the dishes, we felt so welcome. 5 stars (6 if I could) for the hospitality, but 3 for the food, so an even 4 to balance it out. read more

Amazing amazing dinner. One for the books. Went with 5 colleagues. We ordered family style so tried a lot of things on the menu. The cacio e Pepe frittele were so good as were the agnolotti and spaghetti. Everything was amazing. We also got the 30 day aged ribeye. Best steak of my life. Service was excellent as well. As one of the hardest reservations to get in the city, I was very excited to finally be going here. While it was very solid, I would say it underwhelmed slightly especially on the pasta front. Love the atmosphere and the neighborhood. As dumb as it feels to say this, the aperol spritz was one of the best things I've had to drink in a long time. For appetizers, I'd recommend the mozzarella but can probably pass on the cacio e pepe frittele which are a bit too dense and rich for an app. Would definitely recommend you get a few things from the wood oven, we had grilled clams and Italian broccoli both of which were very good. Unfortunately the pastas were just not as world changing as I'd hoped. The two we got (agnolotti and fettuccini) were both luke warm when served. Agnolotti had a lot of flavor but eating a whole plate of that flavor became a bit too much, and the fettuccini had the opposite problem in that it didn't have much flavor at all. Food was terrible, completely bland, no flavor whatsoever. The rigatoni was hard and undercooked, not al dente. The lemon spaghetti was OK, but tasted like something I'd make hungover in college. Also, I said it was my husband's 50th birthday and they did nothing about it, generally at ANY resturant they will giive a small dessert at MINIMUM. Sadly, this supersedes my 4 previously positive visits and reviews. The exactly same-sized group of all white women added their names to the waitlist right after us - and when we arrived 2 hours later to check on our reservation, they were already seated and enjoying drinks and food. We put our name down on a not at all busy winter night, and were told we 'might' be 'accepted' 2.5 hours later. We checked in 2 hours later - and we were snidely asked to please put on a mask before continuing to converse with the staff. 33% of the interior seating was vacated, and more than 60% of the exterior dining domes were empty. Despite this, the (4) hostesses snootily informed us - without looking directly at us once - that they were fully booked and there were no remaining seats for the evening. All this without a single glance directly at us. In this day and age, you get a text once adding your name to the waitlist, and are provided with an estimated wait time. At Lilia, it seems a spot in their restaurant all comes down to your race. The exactly same-sized group of all white women added their names to the waitlist right after us - and when we arrived 2 hours later to check on our reservation, they were already seated and enjoying drinks and food. Each of the hostesses had a dismissive and arrogant demeanor. The frail black male hostess had such a sarcastic, rude comportment, we thought he might have been mistaking our group for someone who had antagonized him previously. After being crudely denied a spot for the night, a manager ran down the block after our group to try to persuade us to try again next time, and asked us to please not take any comments personally, or report them. There is no quality of food that can overlook such a distasteful interpersonal situation. I've taken down my previous reviews of this restaurant, as no culinary experience can ever excuse such conceited and racist behavior. Incredible food is everywhere in this neighborhood. I've been to Lilia now well over a dozen times including several during the pandemic. There's a reason why they're still so popular. The food is consistently good. And for those who are concerned about how they've handled covid, I personally think they're one of the best. No where else I've been is at good at following the rules. You're not allowed to interact with the staff unless you're wearing a mask, so when they approach to serve you, please put on that mask. The outdoor dining it's beautifully spaced out and inviting. I have nothing bad to say about Lilia. I was worried that with less staff, as is the case in most places, the quality would go down. But nope, not at Lilia. read more

Multiple disappointing experiences here... The first time we got baked clams, focaccia with garlic butter, the most famous mafaldini, spaghetti with lemon, and fettucine with lamb sausage. The only thing that didn't disappoint was the focaccia, everything else was extremely salty, also dishes were served in a really small portion? absolutely not worth for the price. the mafaldini is the most trendy / famous dish at lilia, yet it tastes like the chef didn't know the difference between al dente vs. HARD pasta. I decided to give it a 2nd try and come back, this time we got grilled prawns, rigatoni, ricotta gnocchi, and ragu, and since I liked the focaccia last time, we got that again. EVERYTHING tastes like a CHUNK of salt, no other flavors, just salt. It was absolutely bizarre. The rigatoni tastes disgusting, the gnocchi was decent but if you're counting on a vegetarian dish, there's something wrong, and the focaccia that impressed me last time? absolutely horrible, tastes like bread and salt. Now onto service, service was just okay - nothing impressive, but nothing terrible either. Ambiance - it was cute inside, but again, I waited an entire year to get these 2 reservations. Unfortunately this place was not impressive, especially for how difficult it was to get a reservation. Very nice ambiance. When we got seated we bunched our coats next to us in the booth which did take up a lot of room but when the next table was sat they were offered coat check-weird. The service was stuffy- no one smiles, replies when you say thank you, or checks in on you. We started off with little gem salad, tasty nothing exceptional. The focaccia with green garlic butter was the star, that bread was amazing fluffy with crunchy crust hint of leek on top. The clams were terrible, overcooked and chewy and just tasted like salt would definitely skip. We each ate one and put it to the side. It sat there until our last course without any inquiry from our server and even more odd because they clear and refresh your plate/silverware between each course. The grilled scallops were cooked well but smothered in the yogurt sauce which was somewhat overpowering. Lastly we got the Mafaldini which I had been very excited to try. We did wait a while for it to come out. The pasta was cooked al dente which I enjoyed but it came out lukewarm in a piping hot bowl as if it was sitting under a heat lamp! 4.5 stars for this delicious splurge meal. The key to making a reservation at Lilia is to be on Resy and prepared right at midnight. Not 12:01, not even ten seconds after 12, but 12 a.m. SHARP. Those spots go fast. I was able to snag a reservation for 6:30, and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of our dishes. Seasonal focaccia bread with green garlic butter - The bread, sprinkled with parmesan, was absolutely delicious; really fluffy and fresh with a great crispy crust. That green garlic butter was creamy and garlicky and everything I could've hoped for. Honestly, this was my favorite bite of the night. Radishes with whipped ricotta, Sicilian olive oil, and sea salt - I expected thin, cooked down radish slices, so I didn't really enjoy these big, chunky, raw bites. The bitter aftertaste was a little strong. I loved the whipped ricotta, though, and made sure to scoop up every bit. Grilled scallops with walnuts, yogurt, marjoram, and anchovy - Delicious, perfectly cooked scallops. Great char and seasoning on these. I think the sauce was pretty good too, but not that memorable. You get two scallops for $18. Mafaldini with pink peppercorn and parmigiano - I was most excited about the pastas since I'd heard that Misi ensures that her pastas are the definition of al dente, which is my personal purview. Al dente pasta is the one true method of cooking pasta. This didn't disappoint. I loved the shape and chew of these noodles, and the parmigiano and pink peppercorn really shined through without being overpowering. This was a simple yet elegant dish with a wonderful balance of flavors. Sheep's milk cheese-filled agnolotti with saffron, dried tomato, and honey - I was ridiculously hyped for this dish, so there was no way it could live up to my expectations, but it came damn close. The pasta was so light and delicate, and the sheep's milk cheese was a fluffy cloudlike dream. Add on those subtle touches of honey, butter, and the tanginess of dried tomatoes, and this was a total winner. Italian Job - This off-menu item sounds like it's actually a constant dessert option. They top their housemade vanilla gelato with honey, olive oil, sea salt, and shaved white truffles. It was $25, which is ridiculous for dessert (I would've preferred to remove the truffle shavings and pay less) but I was filled with an overwhelming sense of FOMO, so I had to try it. Welp, I'm glad I did, but I wouldn't get it again. As I suspected, the truffle shavings didn't really add anything to the gelato. They just felt like a fancy way to bump up the price. The olive oil was nice and nutty but became overwhelming after a while. Great gelato though, it was really smooth but not overwhelmingly creamy. My friend got the regular sweet vanilla gelato with all the available toppings (sprinkles, chocolate straci, and almond biscotti) minus the lemon walnuts. The bill came to $135 before tax and tip. Do I think my meal was worth almost $90 after tax and tip? Definitely not. I'm hard-pressed to find any meal that is. Was it an indulgent and delicious meal? Yes, absolutely. read more

I don't normally like to leave bad reviews but our experience at Lilia yesterday really left a bad taste. At the outset, our server apologized about the building being cold and drafty and offered us complimentary hot lemon water. We didn't mind that at all as we were looking forward to the food and went on to order 5 dishes for 2 people based on their suggestion. The leek focaccia with garlic butter was very tasty and that got us excited for the anti pasti and main courses but what followed was a complete letdown: The grilled prawns had a spicy Cajun flavor that seemed at odds with the bread we just had. The mafaldini was dry, salty and very undercooked (not al dente). It was like chewing on rubber. The rigatoni sauce was bland and felt like tomato purée with no seasoning. The agnolotti looked heavy but was surprisingly light and flavorful. The sheep's milk cheese inside was delicious and unexpected. We couldn't finish a single pasta we ordered in spite of having walked in with a large appetite primarily because the first few dishes were so disappointing. I understand that all restaurants have good and bad days so I wouldn't have bothered writing this review but that night my husband also complained of a really bad stomach ache which I can't help but attribute to the food we ate - the prawns I believe, since I barely ate those. Wow, what a great experience! Everything at this restaurant felt very well thought out. The menu was diverse beyond pasta, but that's basically all we had because that's what the chef is famous for. The pasta dishes ranged from pretty bad to exceptional. Details below - We started with the focaccia bread, which was delicious. It came with a huge scoop of garlic butter, which felt like more of a spread than butter. Unfortunately, when we tried to order another one, we were told it was sold out (booooo!) We also got the blowfish tails, which was seasoned perfectly, and we got five of the pastas. Well, to be perfectly honest, we got five of the pastas, but one of them we ordered three of because it was just so good. Clams were also pretty good. I'll start from the least impressive to the most impressive. Rigatoni diavola - this was hands-down, really, really bad and not tasty at all. There is al dente, and there's undercooked. I thought that this was definitely undercooked. Our group had to dip the remaining pieces into the lamb sausage sauce to finish it. That's how tasteless it was. Ricotta gnocchi - this was nothing to write home about. Not only was the pesto bland, the gnocchi wasn't all the same size. I don't know why I even bother getting pesto anywhere other than at Costco. I can eat that pesto straight out of the jar. Shoulda brought the jar Mafaldini - this had pink peppercorn on it, sprinkled everywhere. It was quite the beautiful dish, and pretty good. Small complaint that each noodle was so long that it was hard to share. But it was very good! Fettuccini - this was the dish with the lamb sausage. Very good, and we all enjoyed it. It's a little bit on the spicy end, but the sauce is so good that it pairs well with the focaccia or, if you insist on ordering it, the rigatoni. Sheep's milk cheese agnolotti - this dish was absolutely, 100%, knock your socks off amazing. It was so good that we ordered two more, and they all went very quickly. It's basically a little pillow of awesome that explodes in your mouth with the creamiest, tastiest, sheep's milk cheese. The service was also great. The three of us had a reservation for 8:15 PM. We ended up getting to Lilia a few minutes early and had to wait about 20-30 minutes. This place was packed! To start the dinner off, we all shared the following appetizers: broccoli, mussels, and fritelle. The mussels were really good. I would eat here again simply for those mussels. For entrees, the three of us ordered a total of four pasta dishes, including spaghetti, agnolotti, gnocchi, and mafaldine. I really enjoyed the agnolotti filled with cheese and the gnocchi. The main knock on this place is the small portions. Overall, the food is great, and Lilia is worth visiting. read more

Snagged a reservation at a normal hour thanks to Resy alerts and fast fingers and had high hopes due to the hype machine surrounding this place. Then I combed through recent Yelp reviews and lowered my expectations slightly in order to not get disappointed. Boy, were we still greatly disappointed. Maybe this restaurant was amazing years ago, but it definitely did not wow us at all and it's NOT worth the craziness of trying to get a reservation. I will say, our server was fantastic and we had great service. Even when we sent back the clams (more below), we still received great service afterwards. Five stars on that. But, the food (and the wait for the food in between 'courses') dropped this review down to a 3, 3.5 if I'm feeling generous. Writing my review on the food below based on the order we received everything, and with wait times in between (it took forever). Asparagus: This time it was green asparagus because white asparagus is no longer in season. It comes with a bagna cauda (anchovy-based sauce) to dip in, along with some sourdough bread. Again, this was exceedingly oily. I expected the sauce to be oily and that was fine, but the asparagus itself had too much (and don't even get me started about the bread), that it ended up feeling not crisp but just...oil on oil. (~10 min wait) Focaccia: This was delicious, but extremely oily. Seriously, my fingers were soaked by the end and so was my napkin. Focaccia is an oilier bread generally, but this was a bit on the extreme side. The best part was definitely the green butter. (~15 min wait) Clams: They were out of the sardines which was what we had really wanted, fine, so we decided on the clams. Big mistake. I had read previous reviews which said they were overcooked and so we were warned, but we still hoped it wouldn't be the case for us. Unfortunately, it was like eating a wad of rubber bands. We rarely send a dish back but we couldn't justify wanting to eat this or spending money on it, so we did. Definitely skip this. (~20 min wait) Tortelli: This was our favorite pasta dish because unlike the agnolotti, it actually arrived hot. The peas and pea tendrils were fresh and the mortadella filling was tasty. I would recommend this. Agnolotti: The famous sheep's milk ricotta agnolotti was tasty, but arrived barely warm. Couldn't help but think the honey, garlic and saffron sauce would be delicious on some not-overcooked clams (yes, we were still a bit upset). We overall liked this dish but would have preferred it to be not cold. Not sure if that was supposed to be the case, or if it was sitting around for ages. (TLDR - not worth coming here unless they can step up their game. I'm guessing because they're so popular due to the hype, they don't bother/care to execute things properly, which is a damn shame because the dishes could have been top notch if they had. RESERVATION My birthday was fast approaching. I tried so hard to check multiple days to reserve a family dinner on Resy. I signed up for notifications of cancellations and tried calling during business hours, but it kept going to voicemail. What did work was calling earlier in the day prior to opening business hours (not after 4pm). On the day of my birthday, I called around 11am-12pm and they answered! I somehow managed to snag a table for 7:30pm (what I thought was ideal time) on the same day! I literally screamed a little cause everything I hoped for came true. ORDERING When my family and I got there, we were immediately seated - was told in advance that the table was available until 9:15pm (slightly less than 2hrs), which we were totally okay with. We were seated and went straight to ordering our food. We were just going to order a few entrees and was suggested to order an appetizer since the wait for food might take some time. So, I agreed and ordered an appetizer to start. DINING - Artichoke I honestly had no idea of what it looked like or tasted like. I originally ordered it because it sounded good and was expecting smaller artichoke heart pieces. But what I discovered was a cooked whole artichoke. It was advised that we took each piece off and ate it. The outer pieces were nice and tasty, but the more we dug in, it was getting very hard to chew - almost inedible. We ate whatever we could. Probably wouldn't have ordered had I known what to expect. - Rigatoni This was probably the most common pasta dish here. It's just tomato sauce. A tad bit spicy due to the chilies. Maybe I'm extra sensitive but maybe a tad salty for me as well. - Gnocchi I've had gnocchis before, so no surprise here. I don't love pesto, but I enjoy the light pesto taste and loved the addition of pistachios in it for added crunch. - Mafaldini I really enjoyed the wavy texture of the pasta in my mouth. It was good, but it honestly didn't fully meet my high expectations. Was a bit disappointed with the wait for the food (almost close to an hour for the appetizer - then the food soon followed). The hardness of the artichoke was a bit disappointing. But to counteract that, the service was very good. They were literally on top of the water refills. I've lived in Williamsburg for 7 years, going out everywhere we can, anytime we can, to support all our local restaurants, and have only been to Lilia once, right when it opened, around 2016. And it wasn't a great experience. The service was a little rigid, they were behind on our reservation keeping us waiting, and our swordfish entrée arrived partially raw. When we complained, they actually argued, insisting that's how their swordfish was meant to be served (it's not, swordfish is notorious for worms, it should never be raw). Fast-forward a few years, and while no Michelin stars have ever been accrued to Missy Robbin's' mini Williamsburg empire, Lilia has become one of the hardest reservations to get in the neighborhood. However, this time I found Lilia to be a much-transformed, quite wonderful experience, both in terms of the food and service. While I prefer Misi's more modern, open layout with a view of the waterfront, Lilia, in a converted auto body shop, has its charms. It's actually *very* Williamsburg circa 2016, with a wood beamed ceiling, relaxed open kitchen, and giant factory windows that look out onto Union Ave. They still have no place for you to wait when they are inevitably (this time only a minute!) behind on your reservation, forcing you to stand outside on the street. Lilia has a more intimate, narrow feel, the only downside being occasional bottlenecks at the two main bathrooms in back, and loud-voiced banker types in button downs right on top of you DISCUSSING THE MARKET and HAMPTONS TIME SHARES. While the prices are bizarrely not displayed on their website, they are in no way outrageous. It was simply too hot for us to go in hard on any of their meatier dishes, but what we did sample was splendiferous. I do not recommend you leave Lilia without trying their housemade mozzarella, with lemon, on garlic bread or their mortadella filled tortelli, as these were two of the best things I've tasted in quite some time. But ALL their pastas were delicious, all their small vegetable plates were great, and the scallops were phenomenal. Our server was both friendly and exceedingly informed. When I switched over from cocktails to a glass of wine halfway through the meal, I simply described what I was in the mood for, and a glass of exactly my mood appeared in front me a minute or so later. A very easy five stars to Lilia. They do have lunch here, just in their café part, and it's a bit of a neighborhood secret. But their sandwiches and pastries are divine, you can grab an iced coffee, and sit anywhere you like outside. Keep those Resy Notifys on, and you'll get lucky eventually. read more

Lilia was so good the first time I had to come back a second. Sheeps Milk Cheese Filled Agnolotti: Probably Lilia's most popular dish. It's a very uniquely flavored and creamy pasta. Definitely a must order. Malfadini: A lovely twist on cacio e pepe with a long, curly edged noodle, pink peppercorn, and parmigiano. The pink peppercorn adds an interesting texture and flavor, and the cheese is not overpowering or too salty. Grilled Scallops: Loved this! It was pretty expensive given that the dish only comes with 2 pieces of scallop, but I would order it again and again. Grilled Clams: Good but I like the scallops better Cacio e Pepe Fritelle: These are very heavy, so I would skip this to save room for more pasta Rigatoni Diavola: Perfectly al dente noodles, an excellent version of a classic red sauce pasta Italian Job: a nice treat to round off the night. olive oil + gelato is a beautiful combo The ceilings are tall and the pasta is lovely. read more

If you're a foodie or invested in the culinary scene in some form, I'm sure you're well aware that the James Beard Awards were handed out this past Sunday in Chicago, IL. For those who aren't, the James Beard Awards are considered amongst the highest honors in the American restaurant world; simply being nominated is an honor which typically leads to an uptick in restaurant publicity and if you win well that's your ticket to skyrocketing into fame. I'm privileged and honored to say that I had the opportunity to eat at Lilia in Brooklyn where Head Chef Missy Robbins just became the latest to win the "Best Chef: New York City" award. Simply put Lilia is fantastic; it's everything you want in an Italian meal. It's wonderful to see Missy getting her well deserved recognition for years of hard work! Until next time Lilia... Excellent dinner here on a Friday night. Fully packed restaurant, dim lighting, very pleasant ambiance--slightly upscale but still casual with absolutely no stuffiness. I made a reservation for Lilia a month before (which is kind of nuts if you think about it) and they go FAST. If you're set on a particular date, you will have to do the same on Resy. Our server was very attentive and another waitstaff member cleaned and cleared our table between each course which I appreciated. I usually only get that kind of service when I order prix fixe, so it was a nice surprise. My friend and I ordered the cacio e pépé fritelle, little gem lettuce (I'd pass on this, it was far too acidic), scallops (small portion but delicious and oddly filling), sheep's milk cheese filled agnolotti with sundried tomatoes (absolutely must order), lamb fettuccine (was not a fan--I'd pass on this), and olive oil cake. For my next visit I would definitely reorder the agnolotti and olive oil cake, and potentially order the cacio e pépé starter or the scallops as well. I wish I tried the mortadella filled tortelli but that'll happen during my next visit! Overall, I had a wonderful time. But I cannot seem to fully comprehend why people rave over this restaurant in the way they do. It's solid, you can't really go wrong, per se, but it's not like every dish was jaw droppingly delicious (though mostly soo very solid). If you specifically want pasta dishes I'd stay in Manhattan and go to L'Artusi first. That said, I'm curious to see how their other pasta dishes fair. read more

This place lives up to its reputation of being incredible. The hype is real and it's worth it to even go if it's a late reservation. We thankfully sat inside, especially thankful after hearing that it's a wind tunnel outside. The ambiance is so lovely. I watched TikToks and was told to get the focaccia, sheep's milk pasta, and malfadini pasta. We got those three items, along with the garlic bread with mozzarella, prawns, and lamb ragu pasta. The malfadini wasn't special or anything good, if i were to return i would not order that again. The sheep's milk and lamb ragu were out of this world. THE FOCCACIA WITH THE GREEN BUTTER stole my heart. I'd go back for just that. The prawns were also incredible minus removing the heads yourself. 10/10 would recommend this place. read more

Second time going and 2 of 3 pastas came out luke warm again. Sad because the flavor is good.

My husband took me here for Mother's Day, this past Sunday, we had a 9:00 reservation. Everything was fine so I thought until late that night I got extremely sick. My husband and I shared everything except for the scallops, I had those myself and I was the only one sick. I did not finish them so I took the rest home and that morning I went to check out the scallops and they smelled so fishy and looked raw. I called that Monday asking to speak with a manager to tell them about my experience and no manger was available at the time. Izzy was the person I spoke with and they told me a manger was in meetings that they would connect with me the next day. Since then I tried calling leaving a message and emailing them. It is now Sunday the 18th and still no response. I am extremely disappointed! We've been here a few times and loved it but now I'm not too sure anymore especially since we always spend a lot of money and tip very well here. Friends rec this place and brought us here. First of all the Diet Coke wasn't great and served in the smallest glass given to mankind. If I'm going to pay hefty for a Diet Coke, then give me my damn Diet Coke in a glass larger than 2oz please. Starters- tasty- but not worth the price tag. Yogurt in a dish for dipping, We didn't finish it. Hummus delicious. Salad- not enough for more than 1? Strange. Each priced $17-$23. Pita bread excellent. I ordered shrimp as main.. 6 pieces in a dish like a sardine box. Not even jumbo shrimp. Dish As big as my palm... for real? Not again. French fries were seasoned perfectly, served in a small cereal like bowl? Interesting how they are family style but really small servings. Lamb $72 was good but had more goop than lamp.. not sure what it was. Trying to pick out the lamb.. challenging. Server knocked over my Diet Coke and broke the glass, it spilled all over my new leather Louis v bag, down my legs- and shattered the glass everywhere. Nothing but a sorry from the helper. That was bizarre and ruined my dinner for sure. In a situation like that the manager needs to accommodate and make a point of apologizing, offer a round of drinks or dessert at the very least? I think it's very easy to come here expecting Michelin-quality food and it's just not. BUT, it's also not Michelin priced. The pasta is great, the value is fine, the atmosphere is above-average. We had a 9pm reservation on a Saturday, which yes I did make at midnight a month in advance. We were able to be seated immediately. We also downsized our reservation from 6 to 5 people and they adjusted the table without a problem. I had talked to a couple friends that had been to get recommendations. We ordered 4 apps: the prosciutto, the mozzarella, the zucchini, and the clams. Mozzarella and zucchini were great, the other two were good but missable. From there, we got one pasta per person: the mafaldini, agnolotti, rigatoni, spaghetti, and fettuccini. Agnolotti was a hit - by far one of the best dishes of the night. I also liked the mafaldini. Rigatoni (in my opinion) was a skip - it was very al dente and the sauce was just ok. For dessert, we got the olive oil cake and the off-menu Italian Job. Can not recommend the latter enough - it was incredible. We all joked that it would be our last meal if we were prisoners on death row. Olive oil cake wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Service throughout the night was paced well. Dishes came out quickly. Total per person was around $70 with two drinks each, so pretty decent considering the quality of the food. All in all, I'm glad I went. I'm not sure it's worth the hype, but probably worth a visit. read more
