    Pancakes. They're just OKAY
    Renata G.

Maybe it was not their best day but the food was just okay. I was very excited to have the pancakes and a sandwich and it was all prepared halfheartedly. Egg sandwich was solid. Chicken Caesar sandwich was dry af - I wish the chicken was juicy and it had more sauce. Pancakes double dry - they were bready and needed a wash down after every bite. Yes walked out full but the satisfaction wasn't there. Service was attentive and prompt. But we asked for a glass of milk and they brought it in a glass full of ice. When we asked for no ice, they just fished them out and brought a half empty glass back. Were you running out of milk or what? I know it's not a common ask but to bring it on the rocks..why.

After months of reading and seeing videos about their pancakes, I finally was able to get in and try them, and let me say they totally lived up to the hype. These were easily the best pancakes I've ever had. I love how they're simple, no-frills, and just flat out delicious. The crispy edges are to die for, especially when paired with the soft, fluffy interior. They are a little expensive, however, I think they're definitely worth trying at least once. We also got the liver pate, which was really good, although it didn't blow me away compared to other pates I've had. The biscuits and gravy were also delicious, although they didn't blow me away compared to other biscuits and gravys I've had. The restaurant ambiance was nice, and the service got the job done. Overall, it was a good restaurant. I would definitely return for the pancakes, however, considering the price, I wouldn't rush back.

My weakness is a good breakfast plate, specifically a stack of pancakes. Chez Ma Tante has always been on my list of places to try. I and my friends finally planned it out properly that we would go and try the pancakes. And try we did. These pancakes were properly crisp on the edges, soft and loaded with butter. Just how I like them. I was skeptical that I would be full from 2 pancakes but it was the perfect bite. Coffee and mimosa were pretty standard - good and gets the job done. As others have mentioned, they run a tight ship. Staff is pleasant and food comes out immediately.

This brunch spot was nice. The pancakes were to die for. The best I've ever had. 10 for 10 and the chicken sandwich was excellent . The atmosphere was a tad bit small for my preference but cozy and the service was great. All in all I must try and I'll be back when I'm in town for business.

Hospitality on 10 Flavors on 10 Vibes on 10 A Thanksgiving meal that will never be forgotten! Every dish was crafted to perfection. I wish I could highlight everything. But, there was 1 specific star: the cranberry sauce. Not your generic cranberry sauce. This was cranberry and horseradish. Did I mention I am not a horseradish fan? Well, the tart cranberry had just enough sweetness to offset the bitter herbs of horseradish while still maintaining its flavor integrity. The pate was spectacular with some killer dough. The stuffing with turkey was the best I have ever had! A rustic, elevated interior with plenty of natural light makes this a versatile spot for brunch with the in laws, happy hour with friends, or cozy, intimate date night. Chez ma tante, you are on my all time list of best dining experiences. The amount of love, joy i saw the workers sharing with me, and other diners was truly something special.

I'm not usually a sweet breakfast person but these pancakes were phenomenal. Perfectly crisp edges and fluffy interior, very subtle lemon flavor, and served with high quality butter. Probably the best pancake I've had in my life. The shakshuka (it has a different name on the menu but this is how they referred to it) was solid but nothing to write home about. The aioli the chips came with was one of the best I've had. Food was hot and service was excellent - we were about 20 minutes late for our reservation and they managed to find us a spot at the bar despite it being a packed Sunday morning.

We all agreed that the pancakes were good for first bite, but afterwards it was just too heavy and oily from the butter. Maybe some people love it, but it's too much for me ‍ I did like the fries though..but overall the experience was quite hectic and we felt we were somewhat being rushed.

Didn't have a resy, so we got in line before opening and was able to get seated outside right away! It's a small space inside, so I appreciate the outdoor seating. We got the quiche, which was a little too creamy for my liking and was cold/didn't have much flavor. My friends got the egg sandwich with bacon and really enjoyed it. My other friend got the shakshouka and they first forgot to bring bread with it and then she found a large egg shell - overall it was an okay dish. The star here is the pancake - fluffy, but also has a crispy outer later. I'd def come back for the pancakes as their food items were mid and a bit pricey.

Made sure to get their famous pancakes when going for brunch recently. Although I do agree that they tasted amazing, I thought they were extremely heavy and after eating about half of a pancake it was hard for me to finish. However this is just my personal preference and can see how it's a crowd favorite! I made sure to order a few other dishes with my group to balance out the heaviness of the pancakes and that seemed to do the trick. We were able to snag a last minute reservation online and overall glad we went. The staff were great and super friendly. They even gave us some recommendations for local bakeries

Tuna tartare - really a portion of two spoonfuls...
    Sheena T.

Came here for date night as my partner and I were curious about the dinner menu since we loved having brunch here. We were deeply disappointed in the dinner appetizers and desserts...the two stars are for the dinner entrees - steak and fennel sausage. We paid $180 for a really small portion of country pate, tuna tartare, a chocolate cake drenched in olive oil (overpowered the chocolate and made our tastebuds feel very confused), and an over sugared lemon meringue tart that did not have much citrus to it at all... Also, we wished more bread would be served for the price point we were paying... We left deeply disappointed and that our money did not go to good use :( Will not return for dinner service again....

My picture does not do it justice as I rushed to devour it but I'm obsessed with the egg sandwich (with sausage added) - the perfect fluffy eggs and buttery brioche bun. Don't miss out on the fries and aioli as well

Had a great Sunday brunch experience in Greenpoint :) I've been meaning to try this place since I been recommend by many people! It was Sunday around noon time. It was packed! The place welcomed you with warmth, great hospitality! It was perfect for the cold weather. We luckily got a counter sheets and were so appreciated. Obviously we wanted the pancake! And which... was magical. So fluffy and really yummy! Perfect combination with the butter and maple syrup. YOU MUST TRY. Also the Seasar salad was so well marinated and delicious. We almost ordered too much but it was a good amount. You can ask to the waiters they are friendly and let you know what you need. That was so lovely and you can 100% trust me!

Everything we tried off the brunch menu delicious, with the pancakes, chips & aioli and biscuit being the standout dishes. They also had a very solid cold brew. The restaurant is brightly lit and the noise level was ok. It was chaotic as it was a Saturday afternoon, and service was a bit lackluster. Some of our items took ages to come out and it was tough to track someone down, though the staff were very nice and accommodating when we were able to get their attention. This is a great brunch spot and I'd come back for the food alone! Those pancakes are living in my head rent-free.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. The bottoms were so crispy, it was almost like it was a layer of potato chip! Really great texture, and the fish meat was cooked to perfection. It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!
