My dentist gave me a referral to this endocrinologist for my son. He wanted a root looked at before braces were put on. When I called to make the appointment the what sounded like a young girl answered the phone and her first question was what insurance do you have? I gave her my regular insurance Blue Cross Blue Shield on accident and failed to give her my actual dental insurance. Instead of trying to inquire about my actual dental insurance, she simply said we do not take that insurance. Goodbye. I called back a second time and let her know that I could not remember my exact insurance because my company had been bought a couple of times and we had switched insurances. I asked if she could call and ask for the referral from my dentist along with the insurance information I work in healthcare and I'm able to do that all the time. She questioned me like I was joking. She had such a horrible attitude no customer service at all. She needs lots of training. I decided to take my business elsewhere. I was referred to Dr. Kaykha from my Dentist, Dr. Do. He recommended a root canal. Upon entering the office, there is a HUGE flat screen for you to watch while you wait and do paperwork. Desk staff, VERY nice and accommodating. Office was very clean. Dental assistant took me back after paperwork to do X-rays. He was quick and accurate. There is also a flat screen in the patient rooms and they give you the remote so you can watch a variety of channels while you wait. The Xray Tech was also the Dental Assistant, he was very nice and explained everything in detail and even showed me a few of the tools and instruments. Dr. Kaykha came in and she is SUPER sweet. I was really scared about the root canal, but her and the dental assistant explained everything. With the Root Canal they used a gel to numb the inside of my cheek, then used a needle in the numb part of my cheek for the novacane. We waited about 20-30 minutes for the Novacane to kick in and then did the root canal. I didn't feel a thing! They also used a rubber dam technique, so spit, blood, and tooth stuff didn't get into my mouth. I was very pleased! The entire appointment took about 1.5 hours...thats with paperwork, x rays, waiting for the novacane to kick in and the root canal. I have a second appointment to make sure they got everything. A lady of integrity and honesty. I chose Dr. Kaykha because she is close to my home and on my insurance plan list of dentist. She started a root canal but was unable to finish it due to my special situation. Rather then putting us both through the ordeal, her office found a dentist that could finish the procedure. She refunded to me all of my co-pay and reversed the claim from the insurance company. Most dentist would not do that. To most it's all about the money. Dr. Kaykha is a 100% classy person. It's to bad that things didn't work out for my situation because I truly trust her and think that my best interest was served. My mother was referred to this endodontist by her clinic. My mother who only speaks Spanish tried to contact her receptionist and they just hung up on her. I called on her behalf and asked to speak to the manager and the same lady who hung up on my mother said she was the manager. Therefore, I decided to express my concern. She also proceeded to answer me in a rude tone and she said couldn't hear anything and that that is why she had hung up but I couldn't even finish talking to her when she said bye and hung up on me as well. We did not get to see the doctor but I hope this gets to her and changes her receptionist/manager because she is rude and offers terrible customer service. read more

Very saddened and upset regarding this bill I received after 5 months later from my procedure. I was referred here by my local dentist being that they could not do the procedure I needed and at the time I was scheduled for my appointment I gave both of my insurance information yes 2! And was quoted out of pocket costs of $281.00 which I paid for the day of my procedure. Now 5 months later I get a bill for $390.00 more!! Which I'm told that the insurance company paid less than anticipated.. so this obviously falls on the patient's. This is not right in my eyes and offices should have full detailed amounts due at time of procedures isn't this why we give our insurance information before to see what is covered and ask what is my bill going to be first... and it's easy for the office to say this is your estimate this is a cheap way of saying if the office is not quoted correctly then you will be paying for it no questions asked! This should be battled with the insurance company not the patients. We are the ones that are suffering from pain and paying for insurance and then the bills afterwards. If I can suggest 1 thing before anyone makes a decision is try to do your due diligence for your total bill before you do the work because I promise you will receive another bill months later when you think your all done! I needed Two Root Canal's, side by side. I walked in Her office "knees knocking" wondering how I was going to get through this. I was "absolutely terrified". Within 5 minutes after she spoke with me, I knew I would be able to do it; The actual Surgery was not nearly are bad as I had imagined and the recovery was very fast. (same day). I was referred to this DDS for a root canal through family. It took me 3 weeks to get an appt with an active infection and needed 2 rounds of antibiotics to allow me to make it to this appt. As a medical professional who lives in Aptos, CA; I took time away from my patients and drove an hour (my home town Monterey) to get to my appt. When I was in Seaside I hit traffic for more than 30 mins related to a fatal car accident. I showed up 15 minutes late to my appt and had call the office manger to inform her. When I arrived I was turned away. Not just turned away but laughed at by the office manger. As a medical professional I would NEVER treat my patients this way. My job is to give my patients all of their health care options. Let me preface this with a quick backstory​. I have not seen any dentist for​ over 8 years. I had a horrific root canal experience that permanently​ traumatized​ me and ultimately resulted in the loss of my tooth. Fast forward to the present- I have been having pain and bleeding of my gums for almost a year and it became so unbearable that I made a general dental appointment a few weeks ago. That dentist was great (Dr. Brock) and I was scheduled to see him this afternoon to check on my increased pain before a family vacation this weekend. A few hours before I was scheduled to be seen by the generalist, their office called me to inform me that my x-rays combined with my symptoms of throbbing pain that was shooting up into​ my temple and to top it off, I had the pleasure of a hot and tingling red ear. They let me know that they were referring me to Dr. Kaykha's office for an emergency consult and that their office would be calling me shortly. It was less than 5 minutes before I received a phone call from Ryan, who was working in the front office. He was kind and patient with me and answered all of my questions on the call. He was even kind enough to accommodate an appointment for me after work on the same day. He let me know the cost of the consultation and that if I did indeed need a root canal, that consult fee would apply towards the procedure. This sounded more than fair until I realized that I had left my payment cards ( all of them) in a different purse and I had no way to pay for the visit today. Ryan told me that he would look into options for me and if there were any issues he would call me back. There were no issues and we have a payment date set for the near future. I arrived at the office ( terrified on the inside, even for just a consultation). Ryan was very reassuring, provided​ paperwork for me to complete and told me that he had made arrangements for me to make payment at​ a later date. He was kind about this with the highest professionalism that I have ever had the pleasure of encountering at a practice in Monterey County​. I was taken to the treatment room by the dental assistant, Maudi. I let her know that I was nervous and anxious and would probably be a "bad" patient. She walked me through what she would be doing (xrays) and explained each step to me as we went along. She was patient and friendly and that really reduced my anxiety. Since I was fit in for this appointment, I did wait for a little​ while but it really wasn't long for the​ same day fit in​ -less than 20 minutes. Another employee came in and checked on me while I waited, asking me if I would like anything to drink and if I was doing okay. Next, Dr. Kaykha came in and she promptly introduced herself to me. She asked me about my history, reasons for my anxiety and let me know that she would be happy to perform the root canal so that I would not suffer over the weekend. I was a little startled because I wasn't prepared for the actual procedure. She gave me the option of doing the consult only or completing the procedure today. Again, I was scared, but I was already there so it made sense to give it a try. Dr. Kaykha explained each step before she did anything and allowed me the time I needed to give verbal consent. She was so patient with me and her bedside manner was second to none. As she was working on my tooth, she was constantly asking me if I was doing okay, if I was feeling anything and asking about my anxiety level. She numbed me so well, I did not feel ANY discomfort during the procedure. She then still took time to talk to me about follow up care, my next appointment and the need to make a follow-up​ appointment with my general dentist for the crown. I am a practice administrator for a local office, so I am always looking for holes or poor service when I​ visit a medical provider. I have no critique of​this practice. Dr. Kaykha is amazing and her staff are amazing as well. What a great team of professionals. I completely endorse this practice and although I hope to never need a root canal again, I know where I will be going if I do and now I know where to refer friends and family. I believe in Wonder-woman!!! Dr. Kaykha is amazing! She took on my root canal which was sensitive painful and causing me migraines, all while explaining in detail every course of action. Does anyone look forward to a root canal? You do? Are you nuts? I have to say that Dr. Kaykha made me feel so confident. The receptionist is very sweet and helpful. I insisted I MUST have nitrous oxide, before she injected me. Know what? I felt very little pain, in the beginning. At first sign of discomfort, she promptly numbed me a lot more. From then on, I felt no discomfort at all. She was very caring, and followed up on how I was doing. I hope I won't be needed a root canal, anytime soon. But, if I do, this is the place I will come. My wife was told on three separate occasions before her appointment that her insurance would pay 40% of the work to be done. $170 was paid at that time and again she was reassured the insurance would cover the balance. Work was done, everyone was nice until my wife got a call forma Kayka's office demanding payment or it would be sent to collections, because the work was not covered by insurance. She was told to pay over $800. Yes we should have checked with the insurance ourselves first and when we did, after the fact, we were told it was not covered but we unfortunately trusted Kayka's staff to be honest. This must mean Kaka's staff NEVER called the insurance. They just wanted the work to be done and then have us on the hook for the rest. Never again Kayka read more

Had an appointment a couple of days ago for the first part of my root canal. This was my first one, but I wasn't too worried. We took a few x-rays (I can't remember the girl who took them, but she was very friendly) and then Dr. Kaykha came in. We looked at the x-rays together and she explained to me what was going on in there. She made it very easy to understand, which I appreciated. Immediately before the procedure I did get slightly nervous. I voiced that to Dr. Kaykha right before she started. She took note and walked me through what she was doing. First, the injection of the local anesthetic was, for the most part, painless. That is usually the most uncomfortable part for me (I've had a couple of tooth extractions in the past) and I was amazed at how painless it was. Usually I feel a dull aching sort of pain when the needle is injected, but I had barely even felt a prick when she did it. That's when I knew this was going to be a breeze and I was no longer nervous. Then the drilling started. Still... nothing. About 15 minutes into it I was so relaxed I contemplated taking a nap, but I was so transfixed on the procedure I had kinda wished there was a mirror so I could see what was going on! Before I knew it, the procedure was done and I was joking around with Dr. Kaykha. I had told her, and I meant this 100%, "I would come back again, hopefully I won't need to come back again, but if I did I would definitely come back". Also, Hannah at front desk was absolutely welcoming! She laughed at my strange sense of humor and made me feel comfortable to be there. She also called me the day after to check up on how I was doing, which I felt to be a very nice touch. As a note to this, it's been a couple of days now and I still feel nothing. I have no soreness or anything. All around top notch! Would recommend to anyone needing a root canal! Everyone there was so friendly and inviting that I felt right at home. I weirdly had fun while I was there. I have part 2 of my root canal next week and I'm actually looking forward to it! Came down with symptoms of an abscess tooth February 2017. Called for appointment: the office was able to get me in for treatment on the same very lousy day with trees falling and power outages. Fortunately everything went smoothly. Tedious but painless well done procedure. The pain disappeared and when I got back home my dentist pleased with Dr. Kaykha's work put on a crown. I was referred to Dr. Kaykha by my general dentist. Her office and office staff are really kind and helpful. It was a really positive experience. My root canal took two appointments but each time I had no pain. Dr. Kaykha is very good at administering anesthetic with no pain - even into the palette. She kept me informed all the way through and made it clear that I should call her directly if I had any problems afterwards. When the (unfortunate) need arose this year, I was able to schedule an appointment very quickly, The whole procedure, start to finish (my situation required three separate visits) was handled with care, compassion, and skill by Dr. K.
