What a gifted Dr. I had a root canal elsewhere a couple years ago. It failed due to being incomplete. Dr Pierre was able to correct it, in a gentle, and caring fashion. His office staff is 2nd to none. They offer chair massage, noise canceling headphones, and a neck pillow that I ordered from Amazon before I left my parking spot! Customer service appears to be high on their list ~ as they've nailed it. Highly recommended! read more

This dentist was supposed to treat my tooth gum with a little injection, but it resulted in an infection; then, the issue escalated and needed a tooth extraction. I asked for a refund (over $1000), but I was told 'no' because the service was done (although it didn't achieve its goal). Because of Dr. Daniel Pierre's interventions on my tooth, I ended up needing an implant, which caused me paying a fortune out of pocket. read more

My dentist sent me with Dr. Pierre for a 3D x-ray since he doesn't have the machine at his office. I went immediately after my consultation with my dentist since Dr. Pierre's office is in the same building. To my surprise, I was charged a consultation fee, on top of my x-ray. I was in the office for just 15 minutes, and I did not have a consultation done. No one communicated that I would be charged an extra fee. I feel blindsided. I went to Dr. Pierre's office just to get an x-ray since my dentist wanted to get a better view and doesn't own that machine. When I told the office assistant about the extra consultation fee, she asked me "did you open your mouth?" and started laughing. They are taking advantage of their patients by not disclosing these fees. She then told me that she will check with Dr. Pierre. More than 2 weeks passed and no response. I just called two days ago and I was told that they are not going to refund me what they charged for the consultation even though it wasn't a consultation at all. I just went there for an x-ray. If I knew about this in advance, I wouldn't go. I will never go to this doctor again and I wouldn't recommended to any patient. Totally overpriced. read more

I got a previously root canal treated tooth re-treated at Dr. Pierre's. The tooth never felt quiet right, that was the reason for the retreat. Once again had an unbelievably fantastic experience with Dr. Pierre and his wonderful staff. Needed an emergency root canal as I was traveling and between trips. Was able to schedule promptly and the experience was pleasant and for the most part painless. Procedure was of short duration and "Bonus" since I was traveling Dr Pierre was kind enough to permanently seal my tooth so I did not have to return to my regular dentist who is miles away. Very clean office and calming atmosphere. I had a root canal and was really dreading the procedure. Everyone was so nice and thorough. All of my questions were answered. Dr. Pierre and Brittany explained everything they were doing step by step and discussed images with me. I was there for about an hour. I was referred to Dr. Pierre by my dentist when he went to replace a filling and discovered it had decayed to the root... and I needed my first root canal. I was super upset because of the costs and my current financial situation - my insurance will help, but not cover all of the costs of the root canal and crown. The whole staff was extremely warm (and very understanding of my financial worries). Dr. Peirre took the time to explain the procedure throughout, and to update me on the process, steps, and progress - I really appreciate it when doctors talk to me like I'm an intelligent human being. If I could rate this office 10 stars, I would! I completely, whole heartedly trust Dr. Pierre and his team and this comes from someone who is terrified of the dentist. In 2020 I was told by my dentist that I would need a root canal. I lost sleep that night because of the dreadful stories I've always heard. Dr. Pierre came HIGHLY recommended by a friend. Candy answered my phone call and was really sympathetic of what I was going through. She reassured me that I would be well taken care of and got me in in a timely manner knowing this was urgent. The day of my appointment, I was greeted by Candy who was just as sweet in person as she was on the phone. I was aware of ALL costs prior to the procedure so I knew what to expect. Britney is Dr. Pierre's right hand woman. She took me back, was very personable trying to get my mind off the procedure which worked! I expressed my concerns and she was very informative. Dr. Pierre was also very friendly and explained what the procedure will look like and what he will do. You can tell Britney and Dr. Pierre have been working together for a while because the procedure was seamless! Britney knew exactly what tools the Dr needed next. He didn't have to say one word. And when I tell you that I'd rather have a root canal then a filling, I'm not exaggerating! It was so fast! And completely painless! Fast forward to this year, I was told I need another root canal on a different tooth and I didn't lose an ounce of sleep! I was actually excited and relieved knowing I had Dr Pierre and his team to get the best care possible. I called the office and Candy was still there! I had a bad experience dealing with the front office who treated me rudely and with indifference. When I made the appointment, I told them to contact my referring dentist for complete insurance information, since the employer does not send cards or other contact data. They agreed. There were several disconnects from the office after that. . On the day of the appointment, I was woken up on my cell phone, which I keep nearby due to my mom's fragile condition, to ask if I could change my plans and come an hour earlier because the dr's calendar had changed. I was unable to change my work schedule. Then while nearly at the office, some five minutes after my appointment, I received another cell phone call from the same person, telling me that I was late, and to remind me I had an appointment. Her tone was chastising, as if I were either senile or a child. I asked how she got my cell number at that point, since I generally use my two landlines for those types of calls. The front office got my cell number from the dentist, without getting the insurance information. On my arrival, I was again chastised for not having an insurance dental card--even though I explained when making the appointment who the employer was, and that this information was not given to covered people on a regular basis. The tone was again very blaming. I had noticed a heavy smell when I came into the office lobby that got worse when I entered the office. I found out upon inquiry that the[ office routinely uses essential oils, which have been reported to release VOCs, https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/10/111020122200.htm] and in my case are a migraine trigger. I am not sure why a medical office would expose their entire clientele to these substances, when there is no firm science showing any benefit, and are really a fad that is being heavily marketed by big corporations as some easy fix. I can put no confidence in an office that uses these fad treatments without regard for its patients health and well being. read more

They did a great great job fitting me in with a very short notice from my regular dentist and the front office was great in following up with me . My first visit was so efficient, easy , fast and absolutely painless ! Zero wait time ! The dr's assistant is super efficient and the dr is so so nice and professional. I was so scared of the process but turned into the best experience ever . My 2nd appointment was 30 mins all in all from the minute I checked in to the root canal redo to check out ; super fast and absolutely no pain! I usually suffer from headaches all day anytime I go to any dentist even if it's for simple cleaning, but I had an abscess clean/treatment and root canal redo with no headache or any sort of pain . I went to see this endodontist a few times (from Mar to May 2021) because of a gum swell above the tooth due to an infection. After he has treated and cleaned the root canal, he asked me to see my general dentist to replace the crown. However, I was skeptical regarding the tooth crown replacement because I didn't see any improvement, the swell didn't go away and I couldn't eat on that treated tooth side. Couple months later, I felt extreme pain and the swelling and infection were spreading. This endodontist determined that there was an infection. But didn't we know about the infection in the first place? And wasn't he supposed to treat it during my previous visits? I don't know if it was the same infection at the beginning or another infection resulting from his work on the root canal. I feel frustrated that he didn't treat appropriately the infection despite of a Cone Beam CT and other images taken. I have spent over $1000 (out-of-pocket money) on a treatment that has failed to fulfill its purpose. Thank God the crown wasn't replaced by that time, which would have made me incur unnecessary waste of time and money. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this office and I 100% trust and recommend Dr. Pierre. I dreaded the day I would need a root canal and that day finally came. It happened right after everything was closed due to covid. I left a message on a Saturday and was called back almost right away from a member of his staff. She told me they were closed but would keep me updated on a reopen date. A staff member would call once a week to see how my symptoms were and to inform me of their reopening plans which was awesome. I didn't feel ignored since so many things were uncertain and just up in the air at that time. Once they opened and I got an appointment, I was extremely nervous. Their new covid precautions they put in place were seamless as if they had been doing things that for months already. Candie at the front was so sweet and super organized. She told me how much everything was going to be ahead of time so there were no surprises. Brittany who assisted Dr. Pierre was so friendly and professional. She made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole process and answered my endless list of questions. You can tell she's worked with him for a long time because her and the drs rhythm meshed so well which made for a realllyy quick root canal. Dr. Pierre is so personable and friendly. He walked me through the entire process and kept me involved. There was ZERO pain! I did not expect for this process to be as fast and as smooth as it was. The place is extremely small and dark and the front office staff was not very kind. I was not acknowledged when I arrived early for my appointment was given a difficult time with insurance benefits and told by Britni that it was not her job to contact my insurance. Very rudely handed it off to some blonde woman who didn't seem to happy about it. It honestly seemed like none of these employees had any training in customer service or care for humanity. Funny because they are in the industry to care for people. Nonetheless, Britni also took me back to the freezing cold room with horrible music that was so loud I could barely hear anything all the while she is singing right along side. One interesting fact the moment the Dr. came into the room her demeanor changed from ugly to kind, go figure. The assistant and front office ALL were cold, abrasive, and down right rude not very professional nor compassionate. I was truly taken back at how this business runs no one knows anything clearly there is no communication and hostile at best. Dentist offices are a dime a dozen here in Monterey and seems like this place is still green just like the plants that seem to be dying for some water and sunlight. I suggest finding people who aren't there for a paycheck and are compassionate and caring verse abrasive, condecending and impatient. My advice to the doctor find more seasoned employees and not young ones. Be more active in your business and present in how your employees are conducting themselves with your patients. read more

On vacation, My son had an accident in Big sur in which he chipped his front tooth, leaving him with an exposed nerve . Because there was no available endodontist back home for appointment today ( we cut short our vacation thinking we had to get back home ASAP) we decided to just try a local endodontist in Monterey. Just recently I overheard someone at Peet's coffee talking about their miserable root canal experience...I was tempted to tell them about Central Coast Endo and Dr. Pierre but it sounded like it was too late for them anyway. But if a root canal is in your cards, this is the place to go. First of all, if you need a root canal you have suffered enough...they sound scary but the fact is this is going to make you stop hurting! This is the light at the end of the tunnel. Dr.Pierre is wonderful (I unfortunately do have a basis for comparison). His staff is first rate, and the office is so comfortable it will make you feel better right away. They are efficient with insurance issues and they have great new magazines to distract you. Not the 2 year old "Highlights" or "Field and Stream" you see elsewhere. I highly recommend going here if you require the tasks they perform. Dr. Pierre, his dental assistant (d.a.) Britni (sp.), and the front desk crew were very professional and did not disappoint. I had a root canal scheduled, and their customer service process was superb. First, they call you the day before to confirm your appointment. Then when you come in, the location of the office is in a nice building, so the waiting room is very inviting. The front two ladies were warm and friendly. The best part was the procedure. Both the dentist and d.a. introduced themselves and made sure that I was comfortable (by tuning to a likable radio station) and understood the procedure (by allowing for questions to be asked) prior to starting it. The root canal went smoothly, and what impressed me is that both Britni and Dr. Pierre seemed to understand each other well. They both knew what instrument was needed throughout the procedure and she handed it off to him as if they communicated telepathically. Most of their talking was focused on making sure that I felt comfortable. They finished the procedure by making sure I understood what was done. Basically, a business model executed perfectly. I wouldn't say I'd like to continue business with them, as root canals are what they specialize in, but if you need to get the procedure done, look no further than this place. read more

I have pretty serious dental anxiety and cried for about an hour in the waiting room terrified that I might have yet another horrible dental experience that would cost exorbitant amounts of money. The staff was incredibly sweet and accommodated my every whim. It really did take me an hour just to get myself in to see the doctor for a consultation because I was that worried. The girl at the front counter was amazingly understanding and sweet to me. The dental assistant was down to earth and very calming as well. The dentist was incredibly understanding and sympathetic to my extreme anxiety. The day of the root canal I received really great treatment. Yes, I too was given a comfy blanket! I do wish they had nitrous but they accommodated me with music and good stories to ease my nerves - valium is always a major help too! =) It was a root canal miracle because I needed a few ibuprofen the day of and the next day didn't feel much pain if any. A completey different experience than I had up the street where I was in severe pain for 2 weeks requiring Vicodin after the root canal at another dental office - and discomfort for the following year. I did get a call at home from Dr. Pierre that night to check on my tooth but by then I was fast asleep. One of the best dental experiences I've had hands down. Dr. Pierre and Britni were simply amazing in their proficiency, skill and attention beginning to end--while dealing with the challenges of an old root canal done back in my military days. As a doctor myself, I genuinely appreciated Dr. Pierre's exceptional skill, treatment plan discussion and willingness to answer every question down to the last detail in reviewing the films and what needed to be done. How refreshing to have treatment with a doctor willing to spend as much time as necessary in assuring an understanding of what is happening. His commitment to exceptional care for his patients is obvious in the state of the art highly specialized treatment equipment rarely found in most dental offices. As a result, he is able to deal with a very complicated old root canal with old posts, saving a tooth that might otherwise be lost in any other office. The list of comfort options offered by Dr. Pierre and his exceptional staff comes in a menu of choices better than some spas; ranging from aroma therapy, to comfey blankets, and a massaging chair. I actually did fall asleep several times, and would have been happy to sleep there the rest of the day had they let me. It was that comfortable. I was blown away that Dr. Pierre called me in the early evening to make sure I was okay. Doctors don't do that these days. This doctor does. I've had many root canals over the decades and can say without hesitation that this was by far the best, most comfortable, pleasant, and effective root canal procedure I've ever had. Dr. Pierre is extremely knowledgeable, took the time to explain and answer all my questions, was patient with me and very personable. I went to see Dr. Pierre for a second opinion on a tooth that I was told needed to be removed. After examining my tooth and the x-rays and discussing my case with my regular dentist, he determined that my tooth could possibly be saved. Absolutely incredible experience! Cavity in molar turned into a need for root canal -- my first -- ugh. Referred to Dr. Pierre by my regular dentist -- read the Yelp reviews and was better assured. When I entered his office I was immediately struck by warm decor and a welcoming vibe -- rendered as well by Brittany and Melissa. They are the dental assistant and receptionist respectively -- so pleasant and cheerful. Sounds nuts to tell you that an aroma vaporizer and back-massaging dental chair and Sirius music added to the comfortable ambience of the treatment room. Constant inquiries into how I was feeling and extreme competence by Dr. Pierre and Brittany had me relaxed and almost dosing off with only a local, painless, anesthetic injection. Procedure lasted about an hour, made so much more comfortable in that chair -- with neck pillow too. No pain at all, even after the juice wore off. Dr. Pierre called personally later that Eve to see how I was feeling. All I could do was heap compliments on him and his staff. I was terrified when my dentist said, "looks like you need a root canal." I was barely 34 and was filled with serious anxiety and fear at going in for the procedure. I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Pierre and I am so thankful I have some good insurance to finally see someone so good. His staff was comforting and warm, I was offered a blanket during the procedure as well as a neck pillow. Was asked if I wanted to take my shoes off, was given a hand to hold when getting the shots in my mouth and was guided throughout the procedure with step by step, this is what is happening now, conversation. I was also told by Dr. Pierre's staff that he had a rough experience with the dentist when he was young and that he is extra nice and hand holding when he knows his patience have extreme trepidation. I have to say, I didn't feel any pain and everything went through without a hitch. And I am so amazed, that less than 24 hours have gone by and Dr. Pierre just called to see how I was doing.
