Dr Termotto and Stephanie (the hygienist) are wonderful. And the billing lady in Salinas is very organized. But if you go to the Monterey office the girl who does the billing there is terrible. For example, she automatically puts a finance charge on every Monterey patient's bill. She is supposed to manually delete it, so long as the patients pay their bill within 30 days of receipt, but she forgets in at least half of the cases. So patients are constantly being charged a finance charge they do not deserve, which is illegal. It is also extremely annoying. No other dentist office in Monterey County does this. read more

I have seen dental professionals across California and Dr. Termotto is hands down without question my favorite. The pre appointment wait time is always minimal. The time in chair is always minimal. He is great at what he does and I have never felt uncomfortable, and never experienced any high pressure sales tactics like at other offices in the area. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with this dentist. I made an appointment over two weeks ago as I was considering switching dentists, and his office staff indicated that we would need to set up an initial consultation where he would review my X-rays and provide an initial exam. So I reached out to my previous dentist to request my X-rays and I forwarded them to his office staff. Finally, I show up at his office the day of my appointment and after waiting for 20 minutes, they finally tell me that the dentist will not be able to see me that day, and that he thinks he should take additional X-rays, even though I had a complete set of X-rays that were less than a year old. Basically, they made me waist endless amount of hours and he was extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

I have been very very pleased with Dr. Termotto, who has been my dentist for many years. He is so knowledgeable, down to earth, sensible, and always takes the path of least invasiveness first. This man is the BEST..I was not a patient yet (saving $ to go) and my back molar cracked all the way on Saturday. I called his office and the message gave a # to call for emergencies..well I thought I could wait till Mon..and by 2PM on Sunday I was in real pain so I called and Unbelievable he answered the phone..(I figured it would be a service)..told me to come in when they opened and he would work me in.. He did work me in and had to extract my rotten tooth, took him 45 mins because it was crumbing and he had to dig it out..(I felt nothing) and he was so sweet worrying that I was numb enough and chatting to make me more comfortable.. His staff are also very nice and real..like him, not phony nice, but real genuine kind people. I am 65 and this is the most wonderful medical professional I have ever been around..I consider myself very lucky to have found him.. Just the BEST!!!! read more

I came to this guy as a new patient. I called and asked if they were accepting new patients and they were. The receptionist, Grace, was friendly on the phone. I told her I was having no issues but needed a deep cleaning due to not having been to a dentist in a while. However, I was not pleased with my visit at all. I was sat in a chair and given nineteen x-rays....19 without EVER being seen by the dentist!!! I have never had a cavity and have no pain in my mouth whatsoever, not to mention the dentist did not even see my teeth, so I found that completely necessary (after my bad experience, I read a NY Times article which talked about how some shi**y dentists do this: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/14/well/why-does-my-dentist-give-me-so-many-x-rays.html). Additionally, I was in a room with a broken window shade and sat with the sun in my eyes for nearly 15 mins while waiting for the dentist. He came in and was friendly enough, but proceeded to check my teeth by prodding them with some tool and picking at my gums which hurt (my gums are healthy, apparently, so idk why he was so rough with them). I was told I needed to extract all of my wisdom teeth (they never give me any trouble) as well as get braces. I'm not going through surgery to treat teeth that are not a problem. He did not explain to me why he thought it was a good idea to remove the teeth. When I asked why he thought I needed braces, he said "your smile is alright, but your teeth are slightly crowded and that could lead to periodontal disease later on" That's a direct quote. Alright?! My smile is perfectly fine! How kind and professional of him...(according to this article, braces cause gum decay: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/8x9e8a/braces-are-actually-bad-for-your-teeth) Did I mention I did not even have my teeth cleaned, which is really all I wanted to have done??? I will not be going back and hopefully I don't get CANCER from having 19 X-RAYS AIMED AT MY FACE!!!! Suggestions for improvement: -Fix the shades in that room--no one should have to sit with the sun in their face and eyes waiting around. -Do an exam BEFORE x-rays. X-rays should be done to check out things you can see are a problem. I have never been to a dentist that does x-rays before anyone (dentist or hygienist) ever looks in my mouth. -Don't insult your patients' smiles! Having perfect, cornrow teeth is not the only way to have a nice smile!!! If you have a professional opinion (crowding=disease later on) then make it an objective, scientific statement. Leave your (SUBJECTIVE) opinion about how people look out of it. -If you are recommending teeth be removed, EXPLAIN WHY. If you give a good reason supported by evidence, people might be more interested in listening to you. -If someone calls asking for a cleaning and that is not something you do right away TELL THEM THAT. I expected to have my teeth cleaned and all I got was sun in my face, insulted, and 19 acts of radiation to the face. I will not be returning. Ditto on the previous reviews. I had a local dentist take over my old dentists practice when she moved, and told me I needed fairly extensive work done to fill a cavity on a tooth that had a bridge attached, plus redo the bridge or add an implant for the missing tooth that the bridge covered. Totalled about 4 to 5 Thousand dollars. I went to Dr. T and he looked at it, said "no problem" he could fill the small cavity without removing the crown, which he did. The intial visit was free, too. The man is honest, does good work, operates a no frills, no BS practice, and has very sweet staff working with him. No pressure to do this or that here. He tells you what you need to do, and looks you in the eye. Dentists are the only medical professionals who get training in marketing, and I have been to a some locally that make you feel like you are on the car lot buying a car! Not here! So here's my experience with Dr. T - First, he is open at night. This means that you don't have to cram your dentist appointment in during your lunch hour. Second, Sabine the receptionist/dental hygenist, will always try to squeeze you in and fanagle things so you can get into an appointment slot. Third, Dr. T is honest. I went to him to get a second opinion after a certain dentist in Ryan Ranch told me I had eight cavities and his office was literally calling and harrassing me to come in and get my fillings. This is a great place. They have two offices, one in Monterey and one in Salinas so the hours are even more convenient. Dr. Termotto was super friendly and easy to talk to. In my first appointment, as a new patient, I was able to have x-rays done and a cleaning and Dr. Termotto practically did the whole thing! He is credible and honest. I had bad experience with the dentist. Usually I am the type of person who takes everything easy and keeps positive attitude. I Saw high rates here on yelp and trusted. After cleaning process my gums were so sore and painful, I felt like my gums were torn off and I could feel soreness for 3 days. Never had such horrible experience before with other dentists. Before cleaning had 2 teeth "fixed". I wish I wouldn't. The front tooth was redone, I have no clue why, but Termotto decided to take the previous filling(permanent) out and put the new one(temporary), even though I wasn't complaining and the tooth was done very good before he changed the filling and now after 9 months it turned dark and the gum is bleeding. Had filling done previously a year and half ago and it was fine, had no issues. Now it is turning dark and the gum around seems irritated. Not happy at all ((( actually pissed off. Imagine that- it is in front and when I smile you can easily see it is dark. Wtf? The back tooth was done and promised that the filling will stay for about 4 years, BUT it is falling apart on my watch after 9 months... what the heck?! I am not happy about results and quality of the service. Horrible job. Plus was charged for the filling with some kind of stupid code which insurance doesn't cover, which means - I have to pay some portion out of my pocket because the type of the service they provided insurance doesn't cover. Seriously... ? Horrible work, bad experience and having teeth damaged even more and have to pay for that crap? I wish I never called to this office and dealt with such situation...(((( very disappointed. read more

DO Not go to this dentist before you have all your questions ready, and particularly all your insurance pre-authorisations done. My periondentist who operated me for two implants upper left and upper right sent me to this office to have crowns placed, after some visits the crowns were placed. Then came the shock, the left upper side crown was fairly well-placed in between the adjacent teeth, however the right upper side crown left a huge gap, more than half an inch, food gets stuck in it, pain to clean. When I mentioned to Dr Termotto he said that was because the other adjacent tooth grew up (in matter of days). First you don't miss that much of space unless you never learnt basic geometry, second teeth space allowing they grow vertically not horizontally. Adding insult to injury, Dr Termotto suggested that he can fix that space (and wanted to charge me for it). This is the most blatant insult to my intelligence ever. On second visit, to fix a cavity that was apparent on previous x-rays, he just started working on my mouth, when I stopped him to ask if the tooth is better off with a root canal, he then said yes, but he never gave me his "medical"opinion" before, it was as if he got a golden opportunity to make more money. That was more than a red flag, to make matters worse, his office billing practices are dubious to say the least. After he placed a sedative filling on the tooth with the cavity, on the way out the office lady said, my share of the bill was 17.60 out of a total of 88.00. Then a week later a bill of 77.40 came over the mail, when I called to complain, she said that was "just an estimate" as if missing the estimate by 77 dollars itself was not outrageous. Obviously the guy jumped on the opportunity to charge me 90 dollars for a 16 dollars over the counter temp filling, Do you want to go there?! Save both your mouth, time, money, and STAY AWAY from this office. read more
