This place is such a gem. From the Hartford area, the drive out to Lime Rock is beautiful in and of itself. The park is in an idyllic location, with gorgeous, hilly scenery as the back drop to the track. The race we attended was such a fun way to spend an afternoon with family. You seemed to be able to bring your own picnics, which makes sense because there is camping there also. There were also plenty of food trucks and vendors, beer tents, etc. and of course lots of cool race cars to look at. Pit row was open for fans to walk around and get close up, which was very cool. My 6 year old son was able to get a racer's autograph on his hat, and he thought that was pretty cool. The event staff seemed pretty lax, friendly, and helpful. We were with my parents, who especially appreciated the golf cart ride to the track from the parking area and back. Great experience and looking forward to returning. read more

Absolutely epic day at lime rock. The workers are so kind. You can tell they love this stuff. They're gracious, calm, and safe. We loved being taken along the big track and also trying the smaller laps in the rentals. The Mazda Miata is a great car. We loved the time trial at the end. So fun. They're gracious with making sure you have the best day possible and if someone slows you down, they'll give you another lap. read more

Woah! This was one of the funnest experiences I've ever had! My friend rented the race track for four hours for his birthday and we were able to race our own cars, as well as 2 rented Miata's. When I say this was FUN, I reallllly mean it! We hired an instructor who was great and took his time explaining and coaching us on how to go through the track. He was able to help us learn how to drive better so that we could get the most "straight-away" during the drive. I was a little timid at first, but after two laps I had adrenaline pumping and I was FLOORING the Jaguar I was driving. During the first few laps, I ran over a few "orphans & puppies" (they call the cones this so that you try your best not to run over them) but aside from that I did well. Everyone else in the party seemed to greatly improve as time went on, too. I would highly recommend coming here with friends because it's an experience like no other. read more

I have been going to Lime a Rock since the early 1970s. Nestled in the Berkshire hills, this nearly 60 years young, 1.5 mile track is the perfect place to watch a sports car race. If you grew up watching races on TV, actually being at the track will be a revelation. The sounds, smells and views of up-close action will tell you why so many people go to tracks year after year. Lime Rock doesn't have grand stands, just grassy hills with shade trees so bring a blanket or folding chair, picnic basket and your camera or binoculars. They have their biggest spectator races around Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day - occasionally they hold a big mid-July race too so go to the web and find the race that talks to you. I love the Labor Day Weekend vintage races - three days of close action with a huge car show on Sunday. Racing takes place rain or shine and it can get cool in north west Connecticut so dress accordingly. Food isn't the track's strong point so bringing your own lunch and snacks will save you money and raise the quality. Finally, you can get really close to the cars because they usually grant spectators full paddock access. And, they also have fan walks that let you walk on the track just before the race starts so you can meet the drivers and get pictures. The track is under going a $3.5M renovation that will upgrade the bathrooms and spectator viewing areas. Last visit (a week ago) they were 90% done. Love racing? Go to Lime Rock. read more

My old Tourette psychologist recommended I come to Limerock 5 years ago, to try and pick up men here. She always said or assumes that is pick up joint for couples to meet. As awkward, weird or interesting as her thoughts around this are, I would have liked to think there is more substance to that shallow remark she gave me in the office. For example, knowing I do enjoy the mountains, rural life and cars, those are other great reasons to suggest going to Limerock. Limerock has a FABULOUS track and with the Berkshire mountains overlooking the track, it's even more stunning. The races are all day events so you don't necessarily have to show up when doors open. You do need to bring your own chairs and there is food on the premise. Honestly, I packed my own picnic goodies and brought my own homemade lunch while i sat and watched the race. I was at the Memorial day and mid July races and even in May it can get really hot which became uncomfortable after a few hours. If you can't be in the heat due to fainting, dizziness, etc, be cautious if you decide to go to Limerock. I had to leave at around 2pm or so, because i wasn't able to sit outside for that long. Also bring a hat, specific garments to have for all kinds of weather. You can layer up or dress loosely depending on weather. read more

Amazing Park! Highly suggested to any race fan or even anyone partial. Great place to spend a day. Tickets are cheap and the sights are amazing. My father and I have been coming here for years for either the Porsche Club meets to the American Le Mans races. Every time we come here we leave talking about what an amazing day it was! The track recently undertook a renovation which turned out amazing! The views of the track at some of the corners are absolutely stunning! Race day events and concessions are always great. We usually bring a few chairs and park at different corners throughout the day and end the day on the front straight. Sometimes we bring lunch and a few drinks, but if we arn't there running the car, you can typically find me in the beer tent! HIGHLY suggest everyone to get tickets for the American Le Mans race here usally around the 4th of July or the Grand-AM Rolex Series usally here around the end of September. If you like fast exotic cars, this is the place to see them, you get to meet the race car drivers, get up and close(within inches) of the cars and take in the lovely smell of octane for the day! Always tons of action! Beautiful backdrop of the Berkshires and the wonderful sounds of the cars echoing off the hills. Don't hesitate from make a trip up to beautiful Lime Rock park! read more

One of the best times of year for me is the date when the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) comes to New England. You get to see some amazing machines driven to their max, a treat usually only seen on TV. For the past many years, they've been coming to Lime Rock as the destination of choice. Lime Rock Park is really one of the nicer spectator tracks I've seen. Unlike most tracks which really confine you to the stands, Lime Park lets you pretty much roam the grounds, as long as you stay within the fenced area. In some spots (the back straight) you can get within about 20 feet of the track, enough to literally feel the wind from the passing cars. Traditional style grandstand seating is also available, but usually not the best choice. They recently opened up a section on the opposite side of the back straight, with a couple of nice picnic tables, in my opinion the best spot to watch from. Bring something decent for ear protection and some refreshments (kind of pricey if you buy there). Unless your planning on grandstand, a blanket / chair are great to have for the lawn on the hill. Many events will allocate spots for campers, which are, again, not more then 30 feet away from the track. Parking is ample, but not always as close as one would like. A lot of walking around, so comfortable shoes are a must. read more

Beautiful venue in Connecticut. We come here every year to see friends race in what used to be the ALMS series. Love the setting and area but the food choices are terrible. One main food shop and a handful of mobile vendors with the usual unhealthy sausages and burgers. Event makes an effort to put up bins to collect the trashy plastic bottles but who are we kidding many guests don't care or are too dumb to recycle. The main food shop has some burgers and sausages, long line that barely moves all day. One veggie burger that tastes and feels like a potato pancake. Served on a cold bun! Better bring your own. No wonder people eat crappy meat if there are no options available! Shocking for a nice area in 2018. Ben and Jerry truck had one vegan option ice cream available. Bravo Overall I see a ton of room for improvement. The Formula E race in Brooklyn had waterstations last week where one could refill bottles. Result: Minimal trash. Hello. Holy smoke Talk about opportunity lost. Nobody expects 4 star dining at a race track but they MAY expect a minimum level of efficient served food when there is just 2 things on the menu. Hot dogs and hamburgers. There is a total lack of management and there is total chaos in the serving area. It took forever in both of the kitchens as if every single burger was grilled to order. Anticipate for Christ sake. The food was average, the fries were better than average, they could have been the best in the world but they were not worth the long, long, long wait. Most unique track in the country. No bleachers. No fixed seating. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs. Coolers. Get a campsite and grill. If you don't like your view, take a walk around the track. Bring your camera, you can't go wrong. Walk into the pits, up close and personal. Cannot wait to see the fan experience improvements, and best of all: NO BLEACHERS!! read more

I did the AMG academy advanced driving school here. It was awesome. The track is small but it's a great place to learn. There is also an autocross track within the large track, that is lots of fun. All around a great little track nestled in the back woods of the great state of connecticut. read more

I did a Skip Barber School here, and despite being short, this is an excellent track to learn many of the technical skills needed for professional racing. Chicanes, steep elevation changes, double-apexes, never-lift cresting corners, and a fast sweeper. If anything, the short track allows your skills to be practiced more quickly, as each corner comes sooner than in a longer track. There's also a good auto-cross course by the parking lot. So whether as a spectator or a racer, Lime Rock is an excellent track to be on. read more

This place is awesome! I have loved this park for 30+ years and I will continue to love this track. What I must squawk about the Lime Rock Catering Branch. Your food service is the absolute WORST that I have ever had the misfortune of falling prey to. There cannot possibly be a single management person that either knows or has attempted to learn a single thing about food prep or kitchen management. We had the misfortune to have used two different kitchens during the weekend. Both kitchens exhibited a condition commonly referred to as "A Cluster F__K". Both kitchens were highly undisciplined in their attempt at fast food service. Waiting in line for an eternity, I decided to time the "order to eating" sequence. 10 minutes per customer for a breakfast sandwich and some Tots! 10 minutes per customer for a burger and some fries! Nothing was pre made, vendors ran out of HOT DOGS!! REALLY?!!!! HOT DOGS??!!! You gotta be kidding me!! You folks are losing a fortune by placing so many inept people at the helm of your catering department. Please look into this because you are really missing the boat here.
