This establishment is more of a child bootcamp rather than a daycare and learning center. Children are forced to go to the bathroom upon arrival, there are timers for meal times, children are not allow to eat breakfast after 8am, they fully secure the doors between 9am and 4pm in which if you come in during this time you end up waiting for someone to come let you into the door for 20+ minutes. Their communication response times is terrible - I once called 7 times, messaged in the app, and sent an email and then had to wait 20+ mins at the door for someone to answer - WHILE THEY HAD MY CHILDREN IN THEIR CARE! Their owner/director doesn't communicate back to you. I had to ask them to speak welcoming and warm to my children at arrival!!! Who has to ask for teachers to be warm and welcoming!!!??? If I could rate this establishment below 1 star it would be negative stars.

The comments posted on 02/16 and 02/17 are legally considered libel and I find them disgusting and racist. Little Steps is a great facility. They are the ONLY daycare in the area that has video surveillance. My daughter comes home every day telling me how much she loves her teachers and singing songs to me in Spanish. The community that exists at Little Steps is inclusive and inviting. We have a very special situation with our daughter, and Little Steps accommodated her without a minute of hesitation. Since going to Little Steps, my child's behavior has improved and she now has a natural schedule that helps us all function better as a family. The people that look after our children are dedicated and loving. My daughter looks forward to attending every day. I love Little Steps and when my baby is born, he will attend as well.

To our surprise it has been the best experience I could imagine! The class sizes are smaller than what I am use to and the teachers are so friendly and nice. We have been so happy we have transferred our other daughter over. What they do for the community is amazing and the sliding tuition scale benefits so many families who live and work on the Island. I am grateful for what they have been able to do for our familiy (especially during COVID when good care was hard to come by). I only wish I new how great they were 3 years ago.

We are a multicultural, bilingual early childhood education program open five days a week, year round, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Children's Center is the only childcare facility in the Lowcountry with a sliding-scale fee structure. We are located on the north end of Hilton Head, serving over 160 children daily. Of the children currently enrolled, nearly 40% come from off island, including Bluffton, Beaufort and beyond. Our Center offers programming for children beginning at 6 weeks of age and continues through their entry into kindergarten. We also partner with local schools to provide before and after care for children through second grade. During summer break, we provide a Summer Camp for emerging kindergarteners to second graders that focuses activities around the elimination of learning loss in math and literacy.

I started my two youngest boys, 8 months and 4 year old here only 3 weeks ago. My 8 month old had…read moresuffered a cold and had breathing treatments that had to be administered. I discussed this with them and they assured me that he would be taken care of. I Brought in the EXACT amount of his medication he would need for 2 days before the Easter holiday. The first day went well and I called to check up. Second day I pick my 8 month old, and I'm told by the caretaker that he had been irritable and fussy and his breathing had become rattled. I asked if his medication was giving and she said yes, and proceeded to tell me the times. When I got home I noticed he had a fever and that he was having a hard time breathing. I immediately called his doctor on call, and I go through the bags to get his nebulizer so i can go ahead and give him another round of his medication. That was when i noticed that the box i left at the daycare (that should have been empty if the medication was used) still had the last 2 vials that should have been used that day. THEY NEVER GAVE MY BABY HIS Medicine. And to make it worse they lied to me saying they did! I had to take my baby to the ER. Since it was Easter weekend i had to wait until Monday to talk with Vicky (the director) and the owner (chanelle) but my husband did call and leave a msg. They returned his call Monday morning and Vicky said that as soon and the owner came in that morning they would call and have a meeting. Finally at 11am they agree to meet us so we could discuss this mishap. The moment my butt hit the chair the owner (chanelle) told us that we were wrong and she had the video to prove that they did my child his medication. She starts going through the video so quickly, fast forwarding rewinding, pausing, muting. I kept asking her to show me the time and parts of that last day and she kept getting angry that I was refusing to agree with her, and wanted to see more of the video. All the while, she she continues to argue because at one point the lights are completely off, but she telling me that that was the moment he was getting his meds. You never see anything, on top of that she mutes the volume. Anyone who has used a nebulizer machine knows that loud annoying sound but she mutes this dark video where you see nothing. At this point I'm still asking questions and she's getting more and more frustrated and accusing me and calling her workers negligent. Mind you. I have not said much but was only asking to see parts of the tape. I ask her to show me, since the video is so dark, the moment someone at the front desk would have handed off the medication to the caretaker since all medicines are kept and the front desk. That's when she starts raising her voice, saying that I'm not going to believe her anyway and she doesn't have to show me anything without a subpoena. Things went downhill from there. I told her fine we could arrange that if need be. But aren't those cameras meant to protect the children? She kept arguing when the video was actually playing and pausing it when we would look at it. Little gameplay to distract us from what she was actually doing, which was lying. Finally I got up and said lets go because this is pointless. And she literally said 'yes get outta my office' like we aren't paying clients and that we weren't having a discussion about the wellbeing of my children at her facility. Completely unprofessional. I lost it from there and had few choice words before I left and also had to call 911 because she refused to give both our children's belongings. IF I COULD RATE THEM NO STARS I WOULD. This place was negligent and I had to rush my child to the ER because of it. This is my first time leaving a review ever on anything and I'm doing it because their negligence. Even the cop had to tell her off because she was being uncooperative. I work in healthcare and my husband works for the Department of Defense and I'm going to let everyone we know what happened with these people. Protect your children. DO NOT take them here!

The 2 year old class was the worst and had the most trouble. They were always out of ratio and the kids were running around like crazy people. No learning or organization. They were leaving the kids in the same diaper all day. I picked my son up and he literally had a line of dried-up poop going down his leg. One day I got a letter from the Director saying they were kicking my son out. There was no explanation as to why. I went to the daycare the next day to discuss the situation. When I finally tracked down the Director who had been dodging me the entire day. She told me that she was putting him out because he had 2 potty accidents where they had to clean the room and it was an inconvenience for the teachers. My son is 2 and was potty training. The teachers would not take him to the potty so....what were they expecting was going to happen? They were negligent. None of the teachers told me about the accidents ever. I was just hearing about it that day. I asked those teachers every single day how my children did that day and if there is anything I should know. They never said anything was wrong. Always told me everything was fine. So, imagine my surprise. The director had to retract he letter to kick him out because the teacher didn't follow the proper protocol. They were supposed to notify me of the issue in writing first, which they didn't. If the issue continued, then they had grounds for dismissal. Since this was so poorly handled, I pulled both of my kids out of there. I was concerned that they would be mistreated even further. Their Richmond Hill location was shut down by the city because they were not running background checks!! Fortunately, when that happened, my kids had already been enrolled somewhere else for a month. This group of daycares are terrible. Do not take your children there. One last thing. Your kids will get hurt there constantly and people will act like they know absolutely nothing about it. They try to blame you and say it happened at your house when it clearly didn't. You dropped them off and they were fine. You pick them up in the evening and they are all busted up. Now how did that happen at home? They think we are stupid. Like I said before. Don't leave your kids here.
