Doctor #1: Refused to send me to Physical Therapy- said wouldn't help at all, in fact make the situation worse. Instead recommended a $600 out of pocket treatment that did zero to help. Saw another doctor at another clinic that did end up sending me to PT. PT gave me back my mobility and decreased pain. Doctor # 2: Given outdated and unnecessary paperwork to complete (according to my insurance and the UW customer service)- haven't these people bothered to check in the last 4 years what papers are in patient care packets? Called in for a serious reaction after surgery- could be blood clots they said. Then said would set up appointment for procedure to check on possible clots (their words, "possible blood clots")....still waiting....sent email asking about appointment...still waiting on response. Guess I'll be going to the ER to get this checked on then? Why put the idea of blood clots in my mind and then drop the follow-up to get me seen for this life threatening condition? Customer representatives when you call into the clinic are rude, curt and useless. When I have been in the waiting room, have heard them taking about patients, mocking them and making fun. Shame on you making fun of sick people in pain.

I had a doozy of a fall years ago and sustained several injuries. I've been to all kinds of…read moreproviders and done more than two years of physical therapy to help regain strength, balance and symmetry. I was afraid to try chiropractic due to an unfortunate experience I had 20 years ago with a chiropractic adjustment ( the cracking kind). I got a personal recommendation from someone I trust to see Dr. Dan at core chiropractic and wellness. The recommendation was so strong that I got past my anxiety and made an appointment. My appointment was on a Saturday morning. He listened to my background story and did an assessment of my current alignment and multiple residual issues. The treatment was very gentle. Nothing cracked and I felt comfortable the entire time... yet I could feel things changing. When I left the office that day I felt more balanced in my legs already! Over the next couple of days I could feel things shifting favorably throughout my rib cage and my neck. (all issues from the accident). What blew my mind was for the first time in eight months I had energy!!!! I never mentioned my fatigue nor expected help with it... but holy guacamole I was like my " old" self in the very best way! Over the next few days I followed my normal routine and swore my vision had improved. I wear glasses for driving and distance. I found I was heading off to work and would be down my driveway before realizing I wasn't wearing my glasses-this happened several times, it was not a fluke. Another day I was sitting on the couch with my dog having coffee in the morning like we often do. I realized I could see further down the street( clearly) then I had in years. I had not changed anything else recently (no new supplements, I don't take any prescriptions, no new food or anything that could possibly explain this improvement other than the chiropractic adjustment). I am an avid fan of Dr. Dan and his gentle but AMAZING treatment. I am soooo grateful I took the leap and look forward to his assistance with my remaining physical issues. I am posting this review after only two appointments. My pelvis is leveling and I'm bearing weight more equally in my legs, my vision has improved my energy is back... Do not hesitate to book an appointment!!

This, coupled with still being quite active as I age, has inevitably led to some new injuries like a slipped SI joint and external hip rotation with knee pain-both of which scared the heck out of me. However, Dr. Dan was able to fix both issues using his gentle and effective chiropractic touch. It only took one visit for each injury-although I try to visit about once a month to get adjusted. He also gives excellent aftercare advice so that the healing process continues smoothly. If you are a somewhat sedentary desk worker who is also very active once you remove yourself from the glowing screen and have back, hip, knee, or other joint pain, my advice would be to see Dr. Dan at Core Chiropractic. You will thank yourself later.

Swedish Ballard e.r. diagnosed some (but not all) of the breaks and had me follow up with dr ruhlman. getting an appointment was easy and they got me in very quickly. for my first visit I chose the Wallingford location, which is very easy to find and access. i arrived approx 10 mins before my appt time, was checked in right away, and was brought back before my official appt time even began! the nurses were friendly and made me feel very comfortable. once i was in the room and all of my vitals were taken, i waited maybe 5 mins for dr ruhlman to see me. he's nice, thorough, has amazing credentials, and found another broken bone that the e.r. had missed and since it was the one causing me the most pain, I almost started crying with relief. he laid out my plan for healing and gave me realistic expectations. the next follow up was in the ballard office and everything there was also smoothe. my only complaint is that sometimes when i've called with a question, i got into a looiiing wait on hold before talking with a human.

I initially sought help from another sports medicine doctor who ordered an MRI but ultimately told me the pain was "in my head" and that I just needed to deal with it. That experience left me feeling discouraged and hopeless. Thankfully, I was later referred to Dr. Grant Garcia, and my experience with him was completely different. During my first visit, Dr. Garcia reviewed the same MRI and immediately identified the issue: significant cartilage damage that the previous doctor had missed. It turned out I had damaged and was missing all the cartilage between my femur and patella. Dr. Garcia walked me through my options with compassion and clarity, and together we decided on MACI--a procedure where they take my own cartilage, grow it in a lab, and use it to repair the damaged area. I had the surgery a year ago, and it has truly changed my life. The pain is completely gone, and I'm able to run again! Dr. Garcia gave me hope when I needed it most. His expertise, attention to detail, and care for his patients set him apart. I can't recommend him highly enough to anyone suffering from knee pain or sports injuries.
