I have BX/BS Federal insurance and for three years this company was called Liberator Medical, then…read moreit recently became Tri County Medical Ostomy Supplies. They were an approved preferred provider under my BX/BS Federal as Liberator, but NOT under Tri County. My last order I was informed that I could only get Convotec brand, no longer could I get Hollister Brand which I have always used. I said ok send the Convotec, and when it arrived, I knew immediately that it was obviously INFERIOR product, both the bag and barriers. Bags we paper thin with "iffy" attach ring, the barrier are one size and you have to cut each one to fit, which is not a fun thing AND the barriers themselves are cheap and the adhesive is very inferior and causes skin problems AND they do NOT stick even halfway as good as the Hollister brand. So I have to find another company for my supplies that is on my insurances preferred list so I can get back to Hollister brand which works like a dream for me. Bad enough that I am only 28 yrs old and have a permanent colostomy to deal with, but to have inferior supplies that I cannot be confidant in and seals that cause skin irritation is over the top. Tri County gave me a hard time about answering my questions, seemed as if they had an "agreement" with Convotec and get kickbacks or something. Anyway, never give up in advocating for the best supplies that work the best for you. There are lots of companies on the internet so keep calling until you get the stuff you need and that your insurance pays for.
