For me, I need them because of my obstructive sleep apnea and my insurance demands it. I feel their care and expertise is second to none. The office staff is friendly, but certainly way too busy. When you get to your appointment, make sure to manually tell the front desk people that you are there for your appointment. There is no sign in sheet and there are no instructions posted anywhere up front which would alert you to their procedures for check in. I certainly urge them to at least put up a sign that says something like, "Please check in with the front desk upon arrival." That would eliminate a lot of confusion. Overall, they are professional and friendly and are a good choice for pulmonary care if you need it. Check them out!

I don't know why Dr. Offices cannot hire just one more person to answer phone calls? It is nothing but greed! I will have be going to this office just to cancel an appointment! So I will first type up a bill to give them for the cost of Gas, Mileage, and time wasted, because they have a really crappy automated system! This goes for Millenium too! Yopu cannot get ahold of anyone, so I always have to go to the office if I need to get anything done!

Absolutely unacceptable experience at Tampa Bay Pulmonary Medicine…read more After waiting months for a sleep specialist appointment, completing extensive intake paperwork, driving 30 minutes, and struggling to find parking, I arrived for my scheduled appointment only to be told it had been cancelled because they supposedly do not accept my insurance. The problem: no one actually informed me. No voicemail. No text. No portal message. Nothing. Instead of acknowledging the possibility of an office communication failure, staff repeatedly insisted their system "showed" I had been called and continued speaking to me as though I simply failed to understand how to use a phone. They even referenced alleged prior conversations that never happened. The entire interaction felt dismissive, defensive, and deeply unprofessional, especially in front of a crowded waiting room. Patients seeking pulmonary and sleep care are often already exhausted and dealing with significant health issues. Wasting a patient's time, gas, energy, and emotional bandwidth after months of waiting for care is unacceptable. If your office cancels appointments, patients deserve actual confirmation and respectful treatment, not blame and gaslighting when they arrive unaware.

They only allow me to pick it up in the afternoon and drop it off the next morning. So of course, 20 years of night shift doesn't change in one day. He gets 30 minutes of sleep data maybe. Follow-up to go over the results a couple weeks later, they want to charge me another $45. So as I said, not sure whether it's incompetence or intentional to milk me for money.

The negative effect this transition had on our littles sleep patterns was one we could have never imagined. Our toddler, who was happily going to sleep at bedtime and sleeping through the night, was now fighting (and simply refusing) to go to sleep at all. Our 7 month old, well, he completely regressed and was waking every 2-3 hours and at times crying for an hour straight before calming. After two months of 3-4 hours of sleep a night, we contacted Good Night Sleep Site (Jennie). She created a personalized plan and we worked closely together for two weeks. She was available for daily communication and support. This plan and Jennie provided our family with the priceless gift of SLEEP! We have a more structured routine. I can now read my littles sleep cues before they even know they are tired. ...and best of all, we just went on a week long vacation and came home to a full night of uninterrupted sleep for our entire family because there's even a plan for when you can't stick to the "perfect" schedule. Good Night Sleep Site was a game changer and we couldn't be more grateful.

If you have a CPAP/BiPAP machine and you have to get a sleep test, you know how hard it is to find…read morea decent sleep center. While I live in the Hudson/Port Richey area, the reviews for the centers near me/in Pasco County (even as far as Wesley Chapel), were not good - anything from ants to unresponsive sleep center techs, to a myriad of unexpected extra charges all related to one night in a room. I felt lucky to be able to find Mease Countryside as one of the better facilities and booked an appointment. I was happily surprised to experience that Mease was even better than its ratings score on other review platforms. Google Maps did mess up the directions once on the campus. The Sleep Center is in building 1840, which is further down Mease Drive, past the overpass and walkways. You'll want to turn right onto Mil-Ray Drive, and if you go straight, you will see 1840 in front of you. The building says Medical Arts Center on it. Follow the building down to its right corner to Suite 120. That is the Sleep Disorders Center. You'll know it by the ramp going up to the door, and you'll see the white doorbell to the left. If it's after hours, you'll need to ring it to have someone come to open the door for you. If you've never been to the campus before, it's worth following the street view of it on Google Maps so you aren't trying to find your way in the dark. My service date was 12-17-2025. I was a little apprehensive as I'm pretty sensitive to other people's energy, and spending an entire evening in a strange place is stressful for me. I was very happy to find that all the staff I crossed paths with that night had wonderful energy and seemed very kind, which is important when you have mobility problems. The rooms are clean, although you need to bring your own pillows if that's important to you. I was very happy that I brought two of my own. I was grateful for the configuration of furniture. There was a reclining chair to sit in, a hospital table to put things on (the ones on wheels that you can pull over your bed), a little chest of drawers looking thing next to the reclining chair to set your purse, etc. when you first come in and have to fill out forms and a nice-sized night stand, which I really appreciated. I was happy for the bigger size of the bed (it was either a full or a queen), as I have wide shoulders and a pretty decent arm span. Being able to stretch out and have room to have my cell phone close by to switch up the music when I have problems falling asleep was key. I found the room very comfortable and full of good energy. My sleep technician was John, who seemed to enjoy his job and was very personable, helpful, and had great energy. When you have mobility problems, having a good technician is so important. Even though I've had to use a BiPAP machine for the last 15 years, I learned quite a few things I didn't know about the whole apnea situation from him. I was one of the people who had been using a Phillips BiPAP product that they recalled because it was giving people cancer, and it was replaced with one that still put out bad chemicals. SMH. I was able to sleep enough to get my study completed. John was great about unplugging me so I could visit the restroom in the middle of the night, and he was very helpful in the morning. It takes me a while to move around after I wake, and I was impressed that the room temperature was turned up so my joints could bounce back quicker. They give you a towel and a washcloth so you can freshen up before you leave. John helped carry my things both coming in and leaving, and I greatly appreciated it. If you are in Pasco County, it's worth traveling to Mease Countryside to get your Sleep Study done. The staff and the facilities were wonderful. I'm a difficult sleeper, and I don't move very fast, but I had a very good experience during my stay.

Actually the second or third time I've been here but never noticed it on Yelp. Anyhoo: this is…read morewhere I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few years back. They have their own sleep lab on the first story of this hidden two story building off of Belcher just north of NE Coachman. After all the formalities were observed with a rather extensive team of medical and office types here, I was prescribed the appropriate sleep equipment and so on. I don't like that I have to use the stuff, but since I must, I can't think of a better MD to deal with than Frank Averill. He's a bit eccentric but he is also a very good and well seasoned pulmonologist. He's assembled a good bunch of folks (and it is quite a big number in the team) to work here. As you can imagine, this practice is quite busy and thriving...I wouldn't expect you'd fare well here if you're in dire need of quick service though. As most specialists go, he books out well in advance. As is also the case with specialist types, forget about the clock when you finally DO get here. Pack a lunch or a snack instead! Nice office with a clean but homey look to it also. Sleep lab is also quite nice as I recall as well. One odd bit of information. The doctor's wife also has a big hand in this place and helps run the show. She is a devout Catholic and that is obvious in every nook and cranny of the office. Lots of religious statues, pictures and the like in the second floor office and downstairs in the lobby. Off to the right of the entrance downstairs is a full blown chapel as well...I must tell you that the formal name of the practice is St Francis Medical Institute. So the chapel and much of the "decor," for lack of a better word, is Franciscan. It really has no bearing on the level or kind of care that one should expect, of course. It's a simple observation for the sake of passing along information to the prospective patient reading this review... That said, Dr Averill is board certified in four different specialties according to the information gleaned from my visits here. Allergies, immunology, sleep disorders, pulmonology plus all the clinical research kinda makes this practice one stop shopping for many people who have breathing battles of sundry sorts....
