Lincoln Bakery is great. My family has been ordering cakes from here for years, and I always request one for my birthday each year. We probably order about 10 cakes a year from Lincoln Bakery, and often it's the same one: the simple and delicious chocolate cake with chocolate icing. I am not very familiar with Lincoln Bakery but have heard great things about this place and had to check it out for myself. Boy were they right! The cakes are the one thing everyone seems to rave about and now I understand why. Delicious and moist batter with melt in your mouth icing! The customer service is not bad at all either. It is a busy place and sometimes you have to work fast and don't have time to stand around and small talk. I would know, I've worked in the service industry for 7 years. These people seriously suck. I walked in once and saw a cake in the glass. I asked her to write something simple on it (Happy Birthday). She said they only write on sheet cakes. I told I would pay more, but she said "That's the rule". I asked to speak to somebody else, and she said, "She's busy right now." OK, today I gave them another chance. I called in to order a cake. She won't let me talk. I started to ask about dimensions of cakes and asked her how big a "sheet cake" actually is, but before I could finish I was cut-off and the lady said, "We don't have them in the store. You need to order them." I tried to tell her I just needed to know how many it would feed, but she cut me off and said, "We need 24 to 48 hours notice and...". I said, "That's why I am calling." Then, I asked for a price and found out I basically need to put a second mortgage on my home to buy a cake from Lincoln Bakery. I like to support small business, but I give up. Lincoln Bakery is a top notch bakery in the Pittsburgh area which I feel is on par with other high ranking bakeries in the area such as Prantls and Oakmont Bakery. I love that they have slices of many of their cakes and cheesecakes available for individual purchase. I purchased an assortment of these to take to a dinner party and they were all gobbled up and it was a great way to allow everyone to try small bites of a variety of treats. My personal favorite was the Chocolate Mousse cake because I love chocolate and it was sweet without being overly sweet, creamy, with the right balance of sweet and bitter from the chocolate. I also sampled the tiramisu which was delicate with just a hint of espresso and the cream was perfect. The best thing was that while the desserts were all obviously sweet they weren't so sweet that it was sickening as I've experienced with more commercial cakes from grocery or big box stores. The other cakes that I bought and all of which the dinner attendees loved were the lemon cake, the oreo cheesecake, one called the sweet spot that had chocolate and peanut butter, and finally a white cake with chocolate frosting. It is close to my neighborhood so I will definitely return the next time that I need baked goods for a special occasion. They are closed on Sunday, but the great thing is that they have extended hours the rest of the week until 8 PM M-F and until 7 PM on Saturdays. read more

Ughhh.. Very disappointing as this was my favorite place to get birthday cake's about 10yrs ago. I was very excited to pick up a cake this past Saturday and it's been years. The cake was terrible both the chocolate and vanilla. The icing was the most disappointing of all as it was the worst impression of my favorite thing about this place. We had previously purchased a cake here for my moms birthday a few months ago. The cake was very dry, almost like the Sahara on a 140 degree day. If that wasn't bad enough, the icing tasted like blood. Atrocious. It should be a crime to make a cake that bad. The bakery claimed the cake was bad because "the government ramped up their regulations on cake making" I wish that was a lie. My brothers birthday rolled around and my parents inexplicably purchased another cake from here. I had very low expectations this time around after the dry blood cake we had previously purchased from this joke of a bakery. This time the cake was dry again. The cake didn't have any flavor. It was as bland as beige carpet. The icing was terrible, but instead of tasting like blood, this time it tasted like febreeze, as my brother described it. I would have been better off getting a shovel, digging up dirt, driving to Texas, taking some dried chunks from the Alamo, crawl back to where I live, stop at an 84 Lumber, purchasing their oldest, driest wood, putting all of that in a blender and setting all of that inside a kiln they use to dry pottery. After all of that, whatever cake I made would be 10 times better than anything I could ever purchase from here. It's like they don't even taste their own cakes. It's the equivalent to the Chum Bucket from spongebob, a soul should never set foot in this establishment. read more

I love Lincoln Bakery so much. We just got a birthday cake from here today, and everyone at the party loved it. I seriously cannot believe how gorgeous it was. For fall cakes and cupcakes, I can't even imagine anyone making anything prettier! The icing is wonderful, although the colored icing is sort of bitter (but I think that is the case anywhere). The white icing is just perfect and not too sweet. When I told my neighbor that I was coming here tonight to pick up the cake, she immediately asked me if I had ever had the carrot cake. Yes, I have, and it is amazing! The burnt almond torte rivals Prantl's. I think the girls who work there are so nice and helpful. And I love all of the homemade candy that they sell. I have been trying to make an order for a wedding cake. I have been disconnected, hung up on, and haven't received phone calls back. I did finally get ahold of the wedding cake salesperson. I made an appointment to order the cake...and when I showed up 2 days later, the salesperson had no idea she made the appointment with me. I had just had it. The wedding cake was good and the price was good, but I am not confident that I will get the cake I wanted or even get a cake period. They have terrible customer service and terrible communication. I ordered my wedding cake from the Lincoln Bakery and was very pleased with the results. My cake--and I'm not just being partial here--was the tastiest wedding cake I ever had. As I lived in another state at the time, my mom went to sample the cakes and was given exceptionally large samples--in fact, she was given entire cakes. We ended up going with a yellow cake with alternating tiers of fresh strawberry and lemon filling. The staff was helpful, and adaptable when I inevitably changed my mind about the design. The bakery was able to delivery the cake to my location, and it arrived fresh. Unlike most wedding cakes, this cake was incredibly moist, and the buttercream icing was smooth and not overly sweet (which I hate). My venue saved the top tier; my husband and I didn't wait until our first anniversary to eat it--we ate it that week! Highly recommend. read more

I tried to get a cupcake cake in the shape of a dinosaur made for my son's 3rd birthday. Mind you - this cake was nothing special--just cupcakes arranged in the shape of a dinosaur. I stopped by in the early evening to show them a picture of what I was looking for and the girl told me to come back tomorrow morning because I'd have to talk to the 'decorator' to see if she could do it. I walked in the next morning at 9AM and the woman working didn't even acknowledge me...I was the only one in there. She just stared at me. No greeting. I uncomfortably approached her and told her how I stopped by yesterday but was told told to come in to show the 'decorator' my picture to see if they could make this cake for me. She was very rude and said to me 'You do NOT talk to the decorators, we do! We bring the picture back to them to see if they can do it.' I said, 'Ok that's fine - I have a picture. Can you just show them?' She then told me there were no decorators there. I went on to tell her that the girl yesterday told me the decorator would be in at this time today and that this is my second trip here to try and get an answer. She didn't seem to care, nor did she apologize. It was like pulling teeth to get her to tell me what my options were at this point. She then told me I could email them the photo. So I said 'Ok and will someone get back to me today' and she told me 'No, probably tomorrow morning.' At this point, I couldn't believe it would take them a whole day to get back to me after she knew I made several attempts out of my way to give them business. I refuse to give them my business anymore. This lady was so rude and miserable. It's a shame she ruined my experience for the entire bakery. read more

Their cakes are wonderful but the parking in Bellevue is terrible. The police are ticket happy. You need to have someone drive you there and circle while you run in to make your purchase. read more

I travel to Pittsburgh every month for work. I first heard of Lincoln Bakery from one of my clients. She grew up in Bellevue and raves about their cakes. A few months ago I decided to give them a try to see if they were as good as my client was saying. To my surprise they were AMAZING! Their cake was to die for. The buttercream they use is so creamy it just melts in your mouth. I am a forever customer of Lincoln bakery now. I always stop there before I head home so I can take some goodies back for my family. If I don't bring home cake i my family gives me the cold shoulder. I would recommend this bakery to everyone. Their product is amazing. They also have wonderful customer service. They take the time to answer my many questions. They were very helpful and polite. Overall I think this is a great place and I recommend everyone to go there. read more

I just had the worst experience of my life in the Lincoln Bakery! The people there are so rude and unprofessional! I order a cake there nearly every month for our office birthdays and for all my personal bakery needs since I live in Bellevue and they are so convenient and usually good. On October 11 2014 I placed a 140.00 order for tortes and cookies to be picked up the following Saturday and was told no problem. when I placed the order the girl taking the order was new so another girl helped but her attitude was very poor and told me that I had to put down a deposit and pay 10.00 for trays for cookies and they don't tray tortes. I told her that was fine and I paid the order in full. the following week I showed up and my order was never placed so they had nothing. No manager or owner could be reached and the poor girl waiting on me was so shook up. The Girl that had the attitude the week before and was suppose to place the order was very nasty and insisted that it had to be under a different name.Long story short we had to make shift the order and put up with a very sarcastic counter girl. I will not return to this place again. I have been using them for years and never saw a business run like this. My daughters worked for years for a well known bakery in college and said were never left alone like this. Unfortunately a man beside me came in to pick up cupcakes for his childs birthday and it was paid for and experienced the exact same thing as I did. Shame on you Lincoln to run a bakery like this. Oakmont Here I come. Oh and as for the cookies I got no trays and 4 dozen of sugar cookies that all looked the same. the girls that took the order were there and one whispered to the other wondering if they would be fired over this and the smart mouth answered no they don't worry about stuff like this and the lady just needs to get over it! read more
