The racing usually starts around 7PM and the few times I've been there, usually ends in the neighborhood of 11PM. There are generally several classes of cars racing throughout the night, with the longer feature races being later in the evening. If you don't make it there by 7PM, you will just miss some of the early qualifying races. Being a dirt track, expect to get dirty. Everything you bring with you, including yourself, will be covered in a layer of dirt by the end of the night. Ear plugs are not a bad idea either, as some of the races are pretty loud. Another thing you should bring is beer. You are allowed to bring your own in(as long as it is not bottles), and it makes the people watching much more entertaining. You see all kinds here, but there is definitely an abundance of mullets, rat tails, breast tattoos, and confederate flag tattoos. The bathrooms probably smell just as bad as any porta potty I've ever been in, and I've been in some nasty ones. There is a snack bar that has some okay food, but obviously nothing gourmet. If you have even the slightest interest in car racing or enjoy drinking beer and people watching, this place is some good and cheap entertainment. A ticket to the stands is only $12. It's definitely not the classiest place in town, but fun either way.

She loves all the access you have to the drivers and cars. As for the facility l, it's a top notch dirt track in Pennsylvania. You have many food and drink options for purchase (alcohol is not for sale) or you can bring your own. The infield is huge with two entrances. One is a bridge on the back stretch the other is a tunnel in the front. Parking is abundant and getting out was a breeze. Ear Pro is highly recommended if you attend. The seating is just bench seating. So I recommend bringing a cushion if your not used to that. We did go to the concession and get a couple burgers and hotdogs which were basic but good. They have plenty of other food options also. My wife picked a driver based off his hauler decals and wanted to get a tee shirt. When she found one she liked I asked her "don't you think it would be cool if he signed it?" She said yes and I told her "well he's right there". Brock Zearfoss was so polite and talked to my wife and I like he knew us forever. He signed her shirt and when she told her it was her first dirt race he told her "you'll love it and you'll definitely be back". She did in fact love it and can't wait to go again.

Ryan races here in the PA Micro Midget 500 class, and we've watched the track keep improving every season. They've added metal bleachers that make a huge difference for spectators (finally, a place to sit where you can actually see what's happening). The big screen is another major upgrade live action, running order, replays... yes please. Makes it feel much more polished and fan-friendly. The racing surface itself has gotten noticeably better. You can tell they're actively working to make it more "racy," and most nights the track puts on a good show. They also tend to draw a solid field of cars, which always makes for fun heats and mains. A few honest heads-ups: * Parking is not the best, especially if you don't have a reserved spot. Be prepared to park your trailer a little farther out. * Bring a golf cart or four-wheeler if you can trust me, it makes the day a thousand times easier. * Pits can get tight on busy nights, but that's pretty normal for micro tracks. Entry fees are on par with everywhere else and the payouts are fair, which racers appreciate. The show itself moves fast and is usually organized well you're not sitting around forever waiting for your class to get called. Overall? It's a good track that's getting better and better. You can tell they care. We always have a good time there, and with the upgrades they've made, it's becoming one of the stronger micro tracks in the area.

This old quarter mile dirt oval provided some of the best 410 sprint car racing I've seen in a long time. The facility is warn down, but that just adds to it's character. The only complaint I had was the lack of restrooms for the amount of people, although I give them a pass since it was a record crowd at the facility that day. If you are in the area traveling on the PA Turnpike on a Friday or Saturday night, stop on in and see some good short track racing. You won't regret it.

Not far from Winchester airport, and the downtown area, this is a fun place. Family friendly, as very nice folks, who enjoy a good race. Stock car is my favorite, and this mud track is entertaining. It's rustic but that makes it even better. All of the staff who work here are great. Tickets are affordable, and concessions are very reasonable. As a single dad I appreciate this. Best spot is grandstand under the announcers box. Lots of shade hot summer nights. It's a joy to be back here, and ready for some fast cars close to each other!

The kids loved being able to see the trucks and talk to the drivers. The concessions weren't horribly expensive. It cost $32 for a fountain drink, chili dog, regular hot dog, chicken fingers and two orders of fries. Snow cones were $6 each and very large. The kids could put their own syrup on them which was fun for them. Bottled water was $2 and the beers were $10. I'd probably bring the allowable cooler next time with non alcoholic drinks for the family though if it was going to be a hot evening. We arrived just after the gates opened and were very happy with our top row on the bleachers. If you are looking for something different to do, check out the Buck.

Are you taken from time to time by a sensation or an event that seems motivated by something other than the processes we can describe with our natural understanding? Like, do you sometimes think of me and then two seconds later I call? I found a penny on the way to the heat bubble last weekend. I don't remember precisely where but I do have the sense that when I saw it I knew I had to pick it up. Later that same evening, when emptying my pockets in the hotel and coming again across said penny I elected to do something with it. I put it on top of my wallet. Just over 12 hours later I won the 50-50 at Selinsgrove Speedway. To mixed emotions in the grandstand, I'm sure, as the announcer announced that the fellow from Oakland just left the booth with 693 of their hard-earned dollars (20 of which were hard earned by me thankyouverymuch). I've been coming to this track since I was as small as small Peter, my brother's 11 year-old son who sat that night with me in the first turn bleachers. Half-mile dirt oval, $13 dollars for kids over 12 (under is free), heart attack food for prices so low you'd swear they were underwritten by a diabetes drugmaker, no booze, an occasional skunk on the track, sprint cars to superstock. Happy times under the stars. Later that same evening, when we rejoined our hero in the hotel room, I took my special penny and thunk over where to put it now. It didn't seem quite time to let it go. In my wallet was a paper heart that I had found in the woods months earlier. A little red paper heart that peeked only a corner from under Allegheny pine needles, a little red paper heart maybe the size of a nickel with I Love You drawn on in black marker. I put the penny in my wallet over the heart.

Over the years, we've done apple, strawberry, and blueberry picking here, but the fall pumpkin festival is the best. There are tons of activities for the little ones - hayrides, a corn maze, farm animals, and more. Tubby's BBQ is on-site if you need lunch. The line can be long, but it moves quickly. It is on the pricier side, but well worth it. The farm is beautiful, the experience is fun, and it's a wonderful way to get the kids outdoors.

Note that the entry fee does not cover your cost to pick apples so prepare to spend around $60 total. Overall, this place was great and I cannot wait to return!

I like that they are flexible with the amount of flavors you can mix as long as it fits in the cup. Located in the midst of a farm you can cross the road to pet some cows making it a fun excursion with kids. Of course that also means that if you were to eat the ice cream outside, you will be greeted with the smell of manure and there really isn't any space inside to eat.

We picked several types of apples (these apples lasted for weeks--fresh, natural, and no pesticides or growth hormones). They also have seasonal offerings like a pumpkin patch in the fall and berries when in season, so there's always a reason to come back. One of my favorite parts was the flower garden--I made multiple arrangements that I ended up decorating my home with. Bonus: they have a sister property with apple cider and donuts, which is a must.

In this instance, we were on the hunt for apple cider donuts. We found the donuts (delicious!) and a whole lot more. True to the name, Mt Airy is a working orchard and farm with a very impressive farm store operation. On this fall day, there was a dizzying selection of produce, baked goods, frozen prepared foods (pies and more), gourds, pumpkins, apples, and much more. There are apparently pick your own opportunities as well. Parking is plentiful and Mt Airy is well-staffed with a very friendly team of folks. The farm store is immaculate. Note that Mt Airy is in a very rural area off winding, narrow roads. Pay attention to your GPS and drive carefully. Highly recommend this York County gem.

So incredibly slow you can wait an hour before even seeing a server or bartender sometimes. The bright side? They are very helpful to new gamblers, they give you your own remote to the little tv at your booth so you can be in charge of the channel, and you bet from your table with a little card you load money on and slide into a thing on the tv. This place is fun, as long as you are there for the gambling and not for the food. Ooh! and you can smoke. They do have non-smoking areas too.

Again, a tradition we have had for years and one we participated in, in 2021. This year, however, was different. We were told that tailgating was no longer allowed. The fair had specialized depending on the type of vehicle you were in, so our family couldn't even park together. Luckily, one of the fair workers who remembered us from previous years, find a spot for us to park near the RVs. But the "fair police" who were riding around on golf carts continued to monitor us and tell us what we were allowed to do and what we weren't. Some other parking attendant verbally assaulted my sister, yelling at her to "move the hell out of the way" because she was confused about the parking situation. Needlessly to say, after over 30 years of attending this fair, my family and I will not be returning. While the kids still thoroughly enjoyed themselves, all the new rules and regulations and the unfriendly staff isn't worth the trouble. Very unfortunate.

My only beef was that we couldn't seem to get the newer consoles to work, as they were turned off and we weren't sure if it was okay to mess with the setup to get them working. Timeline Arcade is a retro arcade in downtown York. Parking depends on the time of day with options…read moreon both the street and local garages, but don't be surprised if you have to walk a few blocks. Timeline is like most current retro arcades, you pay X amount per hour for unlimited plays, and you pay when entering. The entry fee for an hour is very reasonable. The arcade is reasonably large and is spread across two rooms. Selection includes retro arcade machines, pinball machines, consoles, and other gaming items. Timeline does get newer Stern pinball machines like JAWS and Star Wars: Fall of the Empire, on top of a handful of older machines like Spy Hunter and White Water. The selection of general arcade machines is good, with machines like Spy Hunter, Coors Light Bowling, Rampage World Tour, and Revolution X catching my interest. Several TV's and couches are available for console gaming. Timeline has some problems however. They need to more clearly define the BYOB policy in its public facing information. From experience, BYOB here means "mancan/tallboy" sized drinks IE larger cans. The bigger issue is the machine maintenance problems which have gotten worse over time. I've run into several issues with machines not working, and during my last visit a bunch in the back room were out of order. Some of the machines at Timeline are clearly B or C grade machines, and simply do not play as better examples would. Is Timeline still worth a visit? Yes. It remains one of the better retro arcades in Pennsylvania, but there are better out there including in surrounding states like New Jersey.

It is a wonderful day to support local artisan businesses and some non-local ones with their crafted products. There is a lot of free entertainment and a diverse food truck area. It was an excellent day for non-profits like the Shippensburg library, Fire Station, and Messiah United Methodist, a local church that sold chicken corn soup to raise funds. This was my first time attending the 44th annual Shippensburg Corn Festival, which provides great economic energy and community service.

New Oxford Train Station Museum

Vintage baggage car is open to the public if you arent afraid of heights. As well as the train station itself: it contains a lot of old memorabelia, toys and equipment used on the local line. The gentleman operating it talked about the days when it was passenger and freight. But nowadays it is mostly used for freight (apples from nearby Biglerville). I'm not much of a train guy myself, but it is something fun for those who are young or young at heart.
