The teachers are terrific and truly care. The curriculum taught to the little ones is great. The Center does fun things for the kids (and families) like the Christmas show, special floats (think Thanksgiving Day parade) and family day. I feel very informed about her activities each day, and the teachers are always very welcoming. As a parent, the #1 thing you care about when your kid is at daycare is that they are safe. #2 is that they are having fun. My son loved this school so much that often when I would pick him up, he didn't want to leave. My son exceled on so many things since starting this school - at 3 years old he can write every letter of the Alphabet and even say all of his colors and numbers in Spanish! But most of all, my son who used to be painfully shy is one of the most outgoing and social 3 year old I know. I have all of his amazing teachers to thank for this. This school is more then just a daycare, you are treating like family. Again, my son started at 18 months in the room the "strawberries" - which was a great first room for him. He's been in 2 other classes since, and has had nothing but fantastic teachers along the way. We are leaving Goddard to go into our towns public school and we are heartbroken to leave but we are so grateful to have made the memories and friends we made along the way. She…read morewas "shocked" to learn that I had concerns about the lack of consistency in classrooms and teachers, although I had explicitly discussed this with the director. I have also spoken with other parents who told me that they have brought this concern to the director as well. I should clarify that it has been 13 teachers and 5 classrooms in two and a half years, not three. Of those 13 teachers, only 4 are still employed by Lightbridge. Additionally, the owner proudly told me that they have an average tenure of 1 to 2 years for teachers, which strongly highlights a management issue. While the director "reinforced" to me that she had wonderful relationships with the teachers, it does not change the fact that I have had teachers cry to me in the parking lot of the school about the lack of respect from the administration. The teachers spend all day, every day with these children and have strong relationships with the parents. The administration is completely out of touch with their staff and the parents if anything in my review surprises them.

We were drawn to A Step Ahead because of its small class sizes and excellent teacher-to-student ratio, which has made such a positive difference for our son. I'm not sure why it matters that the new owner also has an autism practice. If anything, I see that as a huge advantage. She and her staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and experienced in working with all types of children. My son, who is not autistic, has absolutely flourished there and is genuinely excited to go to school every day. The staff has been incredibly communicative, accommodating, and kind. We have felt at home there right away. The classrooms are clean, welcoming, and filled with engaging toys, and my son can't stop talking about his favorite part of the day - the staff! He's always asking when he can see Miss Holly, Miss Jodie, and the rest of his teachers! Every child and family has a different experience, but ours has been nothing but positive. My son was fully prepared for Kindergarten and is in the top reading class. My daughter who is only 3 learned how to write her name and comes home with lots of worksheets she completed in school which shows how much she is learning there! Everyday she comes home smiling and can't wait to go back the next day! All of the staff is so amazing and friendly! It's a small school, but that's the beauty of it.. It allows the children one and one learning which is amazing at this age! As for communication, Ms. Holly is very responsive and easy to communicate with, you couldn't ask for anything more! P.S Even though the ownership has changed, the care from the teachers has remained the same. We are so glad we chose A Step Ahead and you will be too!
