Oak hill makes sure the student is doing his work and if extra help is needed, they will help. The homework load is a lot , but that's what makes for a smarter student. The environment had a sense of comfort, like being at a family members home. The classrooms were uniquely decorated and filled with happy smiles of each child in them. The entire staff was so welcoming and courteous. There was a big Giving Tree in the hall that displayed apples showing an act of kindness that a child made to another. It just set the precedence for what this school was about. My son was so happy every day there, and would tell me stories of the nature walks they took, all the fun things he did and learned in and out of the classroom. He made so many great friends and memories there as did I. He was well equipped not only academically , but learned life lessons that I know he will carry on throughout his educational years. I noticed such a growth in his individualism and how to make smart choices, and even when he doesn't, that there was always an opportunity to turn a negative decision into a positive one. The teachers, and directors truly care about the children, and their development academically, socially, and morally. Being in a smaller classroom setting provides these children the ability to receive more personalized attention which is always a great advantage. My son graduated from Country Day last year and is far exceeding expectations as a kindergartner. Now, my almost 3 year old daughter is a preschool attendee, and is excited to go to what she calls "Crunchy Day" every morning. As a mom, I am left with such peace and confidence knowing that she is in the best hands.
