I had a cotton maxi dress that I needed hemmed and since it seemed like a pretty easy job, I decided to check out Linda's business instead of driving to our usual alterations place all the way out in Arden. I dropped off on a Friday afternoon and she had it ready for me by Wednesday. It's not an actual brick and mortar and she works out of her home, but she still followed COVID protocols and had a mask on when I dropped off and picked up. I recently just bought a new suit from Macy's, they were having a 50% off sale. I purchased a blue Tommy Hilfiger suit 100% wool. The pants were long and needed to be hemmed. Searching online for a tailor or alterations was hit or miss. You would have people raving about it or people hating them. So instead I went with Linda. I felt kind of weird that it was her house. And there were only a few reviews, but they were all positive. So I called her on a Friday morning at about 9:30, I took that day off to goto the Bachelor Party. I asked if she could see me at 10:30 and she said yes. I live in South Sac on the edge of Elk Grove, so it was only a 10 minute drive. Walking up to the door she has a small poster showing that yes this is Linda's Studio. Good I thought. I explained I needed this pair of pants hemmed and I put them on in her dinning room. There was a large curtain for privacy. The place was very clean and there were no pets. So no pet hair on your clothes. She showed me were she thought they should be taking up to and I requested a little higher for a half break instead of a full break. She pinned it and it was that simple. She asked me when I needed them and she wrote it in her calender and told me it would be $10. Wow that was fast and easy! I just picked them up today and she had them ready for me. I tried them on and inspected them job. Good to go! I was very happy that my pants were ready. I read on a lot of reviews for other alterations that they weren't ready for pick up when scheduled. My son has some school patches that need to be sewed on his uniform shirts and sweaters. She said they would be $5 each. Very reasonable pricing. I think last year I paid $8 at another place. I have full confidence in Linda and I am relieved I have found a tailor I can trust and rely on. read more

I had a very negative experience with another "tailor" the day before but decided to press on and find the right person to add sleeves to my dress. I opened Yelp after work and Linda came up as closest in proximity, so I called her. Immediately she was friendly & accommodating. I went to see her and she was so warm and hospitable. I showed her my dress, told her my vision, and shared a few inspiration pictures. Within minutes she drew up a sketch and it was EXACTLY what I wanted. Linda told me to find the fabric I wanted for the sleeves and upper back and she'd make it from a custom pattern. She said she'd need a month and quoted me $150. Overall, it was a very positive interaction! I'm leaning towards Linda as a tailor, but the price is a deterrent because my dress cost what she's asking for sleeves. Linda is such a sweet down to earth lady.. i would not have loved to spend my money elsewhere. I am a very picky person and i picked 4 days before my wedding to alter my cake dress.. my $1000+ Sherri Hill had very intricate and heavy beading. I initially just wanted to cut the whole tail off due to the weight and length, Linda offered the option of cutting the tail and sewing it back on so i dont lose the detailing in the tail.. it was an expensive dress and she made me feel like i could trust her. Needed it done in 3 days, also needed beading to be replaced, she even dry cleaned it for me for an amazing price. She couldnt have done a better job, made me feel as if she were my aunt getting my dress to perfection because she cares.. highly reccomend. Perfect experience!!!! read more

She did such an amazing job making my bridesmaid dress fit. I decided I had enough time to lose weight and bought a size smaller than I should have. Let's just say it didn't work out to plan. when I brought my dress in, I was treated with kindness. The shop is inside of a personal residence but it is set up to allow privacy for changing. I had to go back twice to get the fit just right. she even gave me back $10 because it wasn't as difficult as she had thought to add width to the under lining. The back of the dress was made into a corset style. The coloring of the fabric does not match perfectly, but she told me prior that it would be hard to find that exact color. My best decision of 2020 was going to Linda Chou's studio to have a pair of work pants trimmed and hemmed to accomodate my length. I stopped at a tailoring business that said it was open on Sundays. After arriving and finding out they were closed, I found Linda Chou's Studio and gave her a call and she told me to come right away! I told her I need the pants done by a specific day and she did it! I have been going to Linda for years for all of my alterations and custom dress needs. I want to say this in bold writing: SHE IS AMAZING, THE BEST. I trusted her with my wedding gown 10 years ago - she changed the neckline, changed the design of the skirt, hemmed, and added a French bustle. She also created the evening gown for my reception based on just a description of what I wanted. She did this by sketching out what I described, and literally made it into a gown, like magic. I have attended several weddings since my own, and have always gone to Linda for my bridesmaids alterations. When my sister got married last fall, Linda made a flower girl gown for my 3-year-old daughter, and matching mother-daughter dresses for the rehearsal dinner. Yes, she can make children's clothes too! As a vertically challenged person, I also have many pants and jackets that need alterations. She has altered my pants and jackets with very short notice, and they are always perfectly tailored. She also does it all with a smile. I do not have problems communicating with her. Sometimes she makes suggestions for skirts or pants to be shorter than what I want, but as long as I tell her no, or tell her exactly what I want, she will do it. I find her house to be a comfortable and clean atmosphere. I have gone to some dry cleaners for alterations in the past and have always been disappointed. I have free alterations at Nordstrom, but the experiences are variable depending on who you get. I always end up going back to Linda because she is consistent, reliable, and fast. So I had a major emergency due to a crap job from a "seamstress." I no longer had a dress that I originally tried on. I had a backless, butchered at the seams dress. I also had less than a week to get my dress fitted before my wedding and was so terrified to trust, let alone find anyone to fix my dress. I called Linda on a Tuesday morning and brought it to her the same day. She gave me a pricing and in two fittings (3 days) I had my dress fixed and aisle ready! I have no idea how she got my dress back from what I felt was past the point of no return, but she did it. My top no longer floated on my bust, my dress no longer budged or wavered down the seams, and the back was once again straight and fell properly. She is so amazing and super sweet!!! She truly saved the day! I went to get my wedding dress altered at a different tailor (which will be getting a horrible review from me sigh-Lee's Tailoring in Elk grove and Franklin). She charged me 100 dollars, to basically realize that she only fixed the zipper, rather than fixing the hip area of my dress. She was closed a day before 4th of July and also on the 4th, and my wedding party was on the 6th! I was so sad and worried and thought I would not be able to fully enjoy my wedding because I would be so uncomfortable with this unaltered dress. However, luckily my husband found a card given to him a long time ago for Linda Chou's alterations. I took it to her location (its her home, but fully equipped as an alterations and dress shop). She said she could have it fixed and ready by the 5th(2 days before my big day!). She also explained to me that the other alterations shop did not make any real changes to the dress. Linda was very sweet in the beginning. Accommodating and flexible. On my second fitting I tried my wedding dress on and I noticed the bustle was way off and it didn't flow well throughout the bottom. It would bunch up when I walked and was very uncomfortable. She made tons of excuses that that's how it should look and I didn't want to be rude so I agreed with her. When I showed my bridesmaids and my sisters the dress I was thinking maybe it is just me, but they all noticed the issue on the dress. I decided to take my sister with me a 3rd time to get it fixed and also to bring her dress to get hemmed. The whole time she was short and annoyed and she was so rough with the dress, pulling it and sighing. I've never felt this with customer experience but she made me feel like I was bombarding her when in fact I was paying her for a service...this was very important to me, this is my wedding dress and she made me feel guilty for wanting to fix it.
