Absolutely horrible. It's true, extremely money hungry and uncaring. My initial visit was only 45 minutes, and she spent the first 10 "setting up"; then another 15 trying to figure out my insurance. She got up and left the room mid session, then rushes me out because her next patient was already there. I paid for a full visit and was actually seen about 15 minutes. Extremely unprofessional. Didn't try to get to know me or understand the root of my problem. Didn't ask me anything at all about my mental state, just prescribed downer pills instantly. Please, find another doctor. *** Updated review. I had scheduled a follow up appointment, and the day before called to cancel. Left two voicemails just to make sure, because after reading all these reviews didn't trust her at all. I get a call on the date of the appointment from her asking where I am. Confused, I reply that I had left voicemails canceling it and never heard back. She says "What did you want me to do, call at midnight?" No. I expect that I called in the afternoon, and you as a doctor should return your patients calls in a timely manner. She proceeds to tell me that I had missed the appointment and wasn't honoring the agreement (even though I cancelled exactly 24 hours in advance) and then tries to charge my credit card $200. Thankfully i was able to block it. As other reviews stated, she copies your credit card information just so she can steal from you in the future. According to this joke of a document she forces you to sign, here is what you must pay Office Visits = $500 Cancelled or missed appointments for ANY reason = $300 You MUST see her every few weeks for a refill otherwise she charges you $75 per refill To top it off, for my first appointment she was an hour late (no one was at the office at all to let me in) and ALL we discussed during MY appointment was her rates and her repeatedly asking me if I was sure I could pay her. I am actually thankful that I didn't read these reviews before going and seeing her (they probably would have made me cancel my appointment). I have been under Dr. Taylor's care for about 2 months now and have been seeing her every two weeks. Yes, she has started appointments late but she's also been extremely understanding with me needing more than the standard 1 hour sessions. Most doctors would have started the appointment on time but most doctors also would have charges additional fees for extending appointment times. She is also willing to work with my insurance making my visits $20/each (I have Aetna PPO). Overall, I am sure I could probably find a more "professional" Doctor but Dr. Taylor has been nothing but genuinely helpful and caring towards me. I would encourage others to give her a chance regardless of the reviews. She is extremely knowledgeable on prescribing medication and helping you manage it - I have yet to find medication that truly works for me but Dr. Taylor has been so understanding and helpful with prescriptions and I am happy to continue seeing her. read more

Didn't even get to see her, when she called back 4 days after I left her a voicemail she scheduled me in that day which I figured was a blessing that she could she me so soon! I was taken back a bit with her weird ramblings while trying to schedule with her, I could bearly understand her but I figured I'd give her a shot since I was desperate. I was supposed to she her at 8, when I got there she asked me to wait in my car for 10 mins, which I still have no idea what for. So after that she finally lets me inside I already had mixed feelings about her at this point. I was waiting in the lobby till 8:45 till I finally left. She had me waste my time waiting so I left a note explaining what time I left and that I wasn't leaving any insurance info there since I wasn't seen. Which led to a passive aggressive voicemail left for me. Never gonna bother with this women again. She well leave you completely disappointed. read more

I usually don't trust Internet reviews until I check the person out for myself but in this case all of the reviews are accurate. Stay away from this doctor! She would call me and leave a message. I'd call back a couple of minutes later because I was awaw from the phone and I could not get in touch with her. Then I would call an hour later, and so on...She would only ever return my calls at 9:30 at night. By the third time this happened, I decided not to see her at all. I let her know and she still called me the next morning, completely oblivious of the conversation we had the night before. I don't want to come across as mean but perhaps Dr Taylor should see a doctor herself or, at the very least, educate herself on how to use a phone. read more

I don't recommend wasting your time even trying to get an appointment with Dr. Linda Taylor. Her qualifications and experience listed on her website sounded impressive and like she would be a good fit for helping with my particular situation. So despite the many warnings on Yelp not to bother with her, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and called her anyway. I reached her voice mail, which indicated "Yes, I'm accepting new patients" and left her my cell and home phone numbers as requested. I had called from my cell and didn't hear back from her that day, but when I returned home that evening I had a rambling 10-minute voice mail about how I hadn't left my cell no. correctly and how she had tried "20 times" without success to reach me that day [no caller ID?] , then she rambled on about her insurance requirements and then read off at least 5 different appointment times she had available in the next couple days. I thought her message was odd, but called back anyway the next day to try to set up an appointment, making sure to leave my cell no. correctly and clearly on the message. Never heard back from her. Even left a third message to make sure she had received my info correctly, and again no response whatsoever. Obviously, I'm moving on to hopefully find a well-suited doctor with some professional demeanor and that will accept my insurance. Surprising at how difficult that is proving to be, and so frustrating when you're trying to get help for yourself and yet meet so many obstacles. read more

Linda taylor is a weird, thoughtless money grubbing unethical person that you should avoid. Last visit I had with her she practically followed me to my car. For some reason she kept telling me she wanted to meet my boyfriend and wanted me to bring in my dog. She spent half the visit looking at puppies in the Internet. She makes you stand in the dark outside of her office before the visit until her previous visit is over, even if she knew I was waiting. She is chronically late so that could be 30 minutes or longer. Yes she has a waiting area. When she isn't on the Internet she rambles on and on, second guessing herself and repeating herself. She requires an hour visit and the first visit she spent two hours rambling on about nothing in particular. Not sure why I went back. Stay away. She charges $215 if you are late and won't see you. She charges over $100 if you call between visits for a drug refill even if she is the one that forgot to call it into the pharmacy. read more

Stay Away from Linda Taylor D.O. Here is my story...if you hate reading just jump down to the last 3 paragraphs. That's the meat of the encounter. 2 out of 5 times she called me to tell me she was running late...leaving me locked out in the cold waiting outside of her office. the other 3 visits she had me waiting anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes. She does not have a working bathroom so one has to get in a car and drive to the nearest restaurant to go to the bathroom. I brought all of my medications to my first appointment. She wrote them down. But did not discuss or address the dosages. At the 3rd visit I ask her to refill or adjust meds. She looks at what I am taking and says she didn't realize that I was on 400mg lamictal with 100mg zoloft and proceeded to tell me that it was a TOXIC combination. I asked why she was just noticing now. but no response. Then she said she would not write a prescription because she may want to change the meds. Note that the prescriptions I was taking were given to me at Shoal creek Hospital where I was an inpatient for 7 days. I was suspicious of her reasoning because the hospital AND the pharmacist did not raise any concern. So just to be sure I called my CVS pharmacist. She researched and confirmed that what I was taking was within limits. I am now in a 5 week IOP program after I finished my 7 days as an inpatient. The final straw with Linda Taylor D.O. was when I needed my short term disability extension form filled out. It is a 3 page form where most of it could simply be copied from the previous form (which I brought as an example for her) the rest of the form was a series of multiple choice questions regarding ability to perform job responsibilities. I had a 5:45 PM appointment. She made me wait in her waiting area for 45 minutes. Then I was in her office with her for 3 HOURS while she struggled to fill out the form. At the 2 HR mark (8:30 PM) I had to seriously go to the bathroom, I was hungry cause I had planned to meet a friend for dinner at 8 (which I had to cancel via text while in her office), I was thirsty, My mother and aunt kept calling because they didn't know where I was...because who on earth would think that I would be there so long. I broke down in a serious panic attack...completely balling crying saying can we just finish it! She kept wanting to say that I was perfectly fine...to that I said, look at me I can't run meetings like this I am a mess I'll totally lose all credibility if I break down like this at work. To this she says "Oh! this is for work skills" Can you believe it! How could she not know after over 2 hrs had past that the form was for Short term Disability from work! It was on the form! I didn't get out of there until 9:45PM...arriving at my home at 10PM. I thought I was going to pass out from hunger. and note I still hadn't peed. DO NOT GO TO THIS CRAZY LADY! If you have to, go to your primary care for refills until you can get into to see a more responsible, professional, organized, and punctual psychiatrist. read more

Hands down the worst experience ever. When I visited Dr. Taylor I was only 17. I was aware that she could only treat adults but I called her receptionist and the receptionist said it would not be a problem. So I showed up to my appointment, waited an hour, finally sat in Dr. Taylor's office and then waited about another thirty minutes after Dr. Taylor decided to interrupt our session and call another patient on the phone. Finally, I told her about my mental state and she said absolutely nothing. She started recommending EXTREMELY strong medication for my anxiety like Klonopin and other different types of OCD/Bipolar medications, which I am neither OCD or bipolar. It made no sense. Finally, she asked for my age for the prescription and when I told her she laughed and said "oh I only treat adults." When I told her I spoke with her receptionist about my age and the receptionist said it was okay, she told me she didn't know what I was talking about. Now, I am 5'1, tiny figure, and truly look no where near the age of 18. I even told her the year I was born when I walked in the office but it didn't click to her. So after three hours of being in her office, she told me she couldn't speak to me about my problems. It was a pretty awful experience. For the time she did talk to me, she didn't say much and actually made me feel worse after leaving her office. The most unprofessional part of it all was that she called me after I left and left a voicemail explaining that she "did not mean to hurt me or upset me" ???? Okay. I do not recommend her for obviously anyone under the age of 18 or even above the age. read more

I really hate to pile on her, but yeah, this doctor does not make one feel well looked after. First, she did the gross money dance that others mentioned with me up front as well. I guess she's not gotten paid before? Her demeanor over all is quiet and kind of spacey, and she doesn't make a lot of eye contact. All of these things made me a little uneasy but I ignored it because what she wanted to do seemed plausible (send me out for a complete blood work-up). We discussed the blood work, and all seemed fine. Then she didn't return my call when I tried to set up the next appointment. Twice. I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything crazy or weird to warrant this, and my insurance paid the bill, so...who knows? read more

This is my first review online ever. I am writing it because I feel so strongly about this. I would not recommend this lady to anyone. I have had two appointments this week and both I think were a waste of my time. I had to wait 30 min. to an hour to see her after my scheduled appointment time. The first session I was there for over 3 hours. In the second session what we covered should have taken15 min. but I was there for 1 hr and 45min. I am not going to do what she wants me to do because I'm so disappointed in how I was treated. She was not prepared to meet with me and I had to remind her why I was seeking treatment. Wow. I had the exact same experience as Adriana. So glad I trusted my gut and cancelled the appointment with this "doctor."

Paranoid, delusional, anxious, fidgety, and narcissistic - this is not my diagnosis, but the one I would give to the doctor! She has absolutely no common sense, called me four consecutive times after 10p and left an incoherent message saying something like "if I do not call in the next 5 minutes she will cancel my appointment." So, BAM, cancelled. What doctor calls at that hour? Plus she NEVER answers her phone. I made the mistake of rescheduling the appointment. She was FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATE! No one was at the office to let me in. Based on other reviews, this is not uncommon. By the time she arrived to see me, her next patient was already there. Ridiculous. Plus, roughly 75% of my first session was her OBSESSIVELY talking about money: my insurance, how I was going to pay her, what happened if insurance didn't pay her, on and on. Someone please explain to me how in the world this is a psychiatric evaluation?! Then, she said in order for me to get medication she had to refer me out to get some lab work. I figured I could get the lab work, get my meds, then find another doctor stat. HOWEVER, when Dr. Taylor received my results from the lab, she refused to tell me what my results were! She said I had to make ANOTHER appointment to see her (read: take more of my money) just to let me know whether or not my labs were within normal limits. You're kidding me, right? You can't make this level of crazy up!! This is hands down the most unprofessional woman I have ever met. She looks to be in her mid-70s, so I can't imagine why she hasn't retired. Dr. Taylor is the worst doctor in the history of the medical profession. Tonight was my last appointment with her. I waited an hour and 15 minutes for my appointment. After 4 years of trial and error, I finally found two medications that worked; however, Dr. Taylor would not refill them since I was not coming back. When I became emotional, she treated me like drug addict stating she could not just prescribe drugs when I demand it. When I asked for my medical records, she counted all 71 pages and then added 5 for her notes tonight. She wanted to charge me per page to have my records faxed to my PCP. I told her to forget it and tore up my consent. I just wanted to pay my copay and leave for good. She was acting like she didn't want to take my copay. I told her to charge me the $40 for doing nothing because I knew if I left, she would charge me even more. She never listened to me. She was never prepared. I always had to wait. This Dr should not be practicing medicine. Only interested in how much money she can get from each patient (not in keeping with the going rates I found when calling around looking for a local psychiatrist), takes no medical history or even identification from patients , late or no show for appts without notice. Does not listen or keep accurate records. Presents as having significant behavioral and perhaps substance abuse issues herself. Leaves long, incoherent voicemails. Does have appointments available quickly because most reasonable people (except perhaps some fellow addicts??) are treated as I was, I surmise. Most appointments are very late or on weekends, like a drug dealer. read more

Unprofessional and a scam. I can't believe she has a license. I went to her because it sounded like she provides counseling too. Her counseling is walking through an old photo copied check list with you to determine if you have depression. She took calls from other patients during our visit, and even called into a hospital on speaker phone to give me a referral. Well, the doctor she spoke to clearly knew she was a nut job, and said she is not qualified. Not to mention the money. She knows I do not have mental health insurance, and she made me come back 10 days after our first visit to ensure the medications (which I have been taking for the past 3 years from a different doctor) were working. When I went back 10 days later she only gave me another 10 days worth and I told her I CAN NOT afford to come back every ten days, her response was "oh no, well unfortunately our time is over". She handed me a script for 10 days. She even charges if she needs to call the pharmacy for you...! Don't waste your money or time, stay away. read more

Please, please consider another option if you are seeking help. Based on all of the negative reviews, I really wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, she seemed like a nice woman at first.. I really regret doing so. I realized after a few sessions, Dr Taylor really does not have any genuine concern for her patients as the reviews warned. I understand it's important to take your time with each client, however, she will keep you waiting for over an hour or two. For me, until 10pm (yes, at night) without an update, she will intentionally ignore you, I felt she did this specifically in order for me to leave and charge me an outrageous cancellation fee $. She will disregard your feelings when she is supposed to be there to listen. During sessions, she will nod her head with blank stare, talk about herself, mumble, even act condescending and try to rush me out at times.. I have never experienced something as unprofessional, disappointing, and overwhelming with someone who is supposed to provide mental health care. She put my life in danger. I almost had to go to the emergency room from an anxiety attack due to her decision, the lack of attentiveness and capability to take care of someone genuinely needing help, and have someone to talk to when she is LICENSED to help clients cope with mental instability. It is important to develop a patient and Dr. relationship and trust who you are sharing your life stories with. She definitely opened my eyes to how corrupt the medical industry can be. I don't understand how she is still licensed.. I feel like a victim of medical malpractice. Please, do yourself a favor, don't waste your time and look for a doctor who cares, won't judge or take advantage of you, and will actually help you. Listen to the reviews. Don't make the same mistake I did. Yes--she was more nervous than I was regarding insurance payments and spent part of my session fretting over not getting paid, ending with " I'm not going to be able to accept this insurance anymore. See they haven't paid me what they owe me.". Let me add something many will find amusing It was raining on the day of my appointment and I was lucky enough to find a parking space right in front of the building-unmarked. She arrived late and announced that someone had taken her parking place. She started pacing back and forth nervously.fretting about the rain I told her I was able to find a space close to the building and she stated, "That's where I usually park." "Do you want me to move my car?" I asked. She blurted out"Yes so I can go down and park there." .Her pacing continued and I felt she was having a panic attack! I am a psych nurse and knew a troubled sole when I saw one. I said to my husband-"Unbelievable." and walked out into the rain so Miss Thang could park there. This was my last visit. I called one day and left a message and she called me beck the next day at 9:39 in the evening which I thought was a little strange. She told me that she could see me the very next day and to call my own insurance and figure out how much my copay was because she is "never good with figuring that out". I have never had a professional ask me to find out the copay for them myself but I went ahead and did so. I showed up on time for my appointment to discover that the door was locked and unmarked. I walked upstairs and a woman told me that the office I was at was indeed hers and that she keeps it locked because she was broken into recently. Again, strange. I had to pound on door before she finally came to it and told me that she was running behind schedule a little bit. When i asked her how long, she said 15 minutes. I waited for almost an hour and then knocked on the door where she was having her session. She came out and said that she would be another 15 minutes. I waited and again after 30 minutes she did not come out I finally left. This was the most ridiculous experience I have ever had with a doctor. She seemed very out of it and was not professional at all. I think I am actually lucky that she made me wait so long that I left. Also, upon reading the new patient paper work i discovered that she charges over 200 dollars for missed appointment. This woman is a joke. My daughter began seeing her in January and has had monthly appointments since. Dr. Taylor will only prescribe 30 days out so a monthly visit is necessary. We don't mind this but what we DO mind is that she does not return calls. Almost 2 weeks ago, my daughter realized she was getting low on her meds and needed to schedule an appointment with Dr. Taylor. She began calling and leaving messages daily. As of today, there has been no return call from Dr. Taylor and my daughter is now un-medicated. Her GP will not prescribe psychotropic drugs so we are pretty screwed. I did find a new shrink, but they cannot see her for 2 1/2 more weeks. I filed a complaint with our insurance company and plan to file one with the medical board. After some checking online, I have found that Dr. Taylor has a reputation for not returning calls and for hanging patients out to dry. There have been similar situations like this happening with other doctors and other people but I never dreamed it would happen to someone in my family. I am absolutely furious. Dr. Taylor has endangered my daughters life by forcing her off her Prozac cold turkey. If anything happens as a result of this blatant disregard for a patients health, I will hold Dr. Taylor personally responsible and that is a promise. read more
